🥀 Summary of Chapters 1–13:

Ryan Vale didn’t mean to survive the explosion that killed her parents. She didn’t mean to become a prodigy, a soldier, or a surgeon. And she definitely didn’t mean to drag a masked man off the street and stitch him back together in her living room… but here we are.

Haunted by a past the military tried to bury, Ryan’s moved to Hell’s Kitchen to start over. Instead, she finds herself drawn into the chaos of the city, pulled between a man she doesn’t know how to trust and the darker parts of herself she swore she’d left behind. The more she helps the masked vigilante known to her as “J,” the more she starts to feel again. And that? That’s dangerous.

Because Ryan doesn’t feel pain. Not physically. Not anymore. But the kind of pain that comes from hope? From almost? From getting too close? Yeah. That kind still cuts.

As the city spirals into corruption and war, Ryan is being watched. Lured. The past is crawling out of its grave, and it has her codename. Null. The Yakuza wants her. The Devil might trust her. And somewhere between the blood and the rooftops, she’s about to lose herself again, and maybe this time, she won’t make it back.

Just a corner—red and matte—peeking out from under the apartment door. Ryan bent slowly, groceries still clutched in one hand, pulse steady but eyes sharp.

It wasn’t a bill. Not a flyer. Just a card. Thick. Heavy. The kind that meant something.

She turned it over.

No name. No return address.

Just a symbol pressed into the front.

A fox.

And beside it, a single word:

“Null.”

Ryan stood in the hallway a beat too long, keys forgotten in the lock.

She swallowed down the lump that gathered in her throat as she finally moved to unlock the door.

No one should’ve known she lived here.

just a little teaser for you guys!! i’ve been working on this fanfic for a long time, researching and rewatching daredevil over and over to make sure it flows well (not that i mind watching our favorite catholic masochist)

this fic finally coming to fruition is crazy to me, i love it so much and i hope that you guys will too.

Ryan Vale is seriously so fun to write. she’s gritty and numb and trapped in her own mind. her arc is so beautiful, it’s got some down hill moments and some really rock bottom grunge to it that just makes me feel so connected to her.

i’m waiting on my invite to ao3 so i can start posting, i’ve got some chapters in the vault ready to go out and im so excited to share them with you all 🖤😈
