Anyone here... ??

It has been so long since I actually blogged, my goal for 2017 was to blog more and film more videos but then my laptop broke (which meant no editing) and I started my school internship programme! Sigh sigh sigh! How do people make this work!

My laptop is now fixed ( thanks to my awesome nerd friend Piet ) so now I can try make this blogging and working lifestyle work!

I have a very fun fashion video up on my channel.... a denim lookbook. I totally wish I could do these type of videos more often but finding a camera person who works well with you ( for free ) is so hard. Anyway I hope you enjoy this video

Monday 16 January 2017, birthday of my favourite fitness blogger Cassey Ho and such an awesome day for me ( well at least I thought... ) one of our local cellphone network providers ‘Mascom’ had mentioned my nail art on their Facebook page and I was over the moon. I am a small time blogger who gets little to no attention but someone noticed me this time and I was literally over the moon. At this point nothing could ruin my mood, NOTHING! ( I was so wrong! ) 

After slightly calming down over the whole ‘Mascom’ thing I decided to go to the mall and get a few things done. My stops were very few because honestly I hate going out when it’s too hot, I only added one extra stop... that being my favourite store in the whole wide world. I frequent that place so much that even the staff kinda knows me and I know the prices of the products so well, whenever there is a new product I promise you it will not miss my eyes.

Somewhere in the mall I ran into a friend of mine and we decided to go to the store together. Just a few minutes in and I noticed a new product, typical Kay! I rushed to it and picked it up like a proper fangirl. It was the only one of it’s kind and it also had a broken seal but it’s cool, I just wanted to read the packaging.

Out of nowhere a lady pops up from behind me and tells me not to open the product, Ok! then I just smiled and asked her if there is a tester. She starts losing it and starts making a scene about how I have opened the product already. What the hell! I explain that I found it this way and if she does not believe me then she can go pull out the security footage. Oh but no! She makes a scene, even calls other workmates and now all eyes are on us. At this point I am properly pissed off and start losing all of my remaining composure. This woman did not even want to listen to me or my friend, talking about how I was standing in an awkward way that made sure I hid my ‘criminal’ act properly. I promise you at this point I knew this was the devil testing me! For a very long time we were at each other’s throats and eventually one of the staff who has known me for some years apologised and asked me to continue with my shopping ( Yes, years! I have been shopping there since freaking 2012 )

I really love BigBang, I do not think anyone will ever understand how much I really love this group. T.O.P oh my gosh...such a babe with his thick brows and deep voice. Sigh! Lol

On 12/12/2016 the boys gave us two new videos and I decided to recreate them on my nails. T.O.P will be going to serve in the army and a lot of us V.I.Ps are very touched but it must be done :(

It’s a brand new year...I can’t really say ‘new year new me’ but I hope for ‘old me new improvements’. This year I want give blogging and Youtube a bit more effort. Improved photos and better video quality.

It probably will not happen over night but I am willing to try real hard. What are your goals for 2017?

Shopping shopping! The ladies love it don’t they! I am no exception...I love to shop but I do try to be reasonable with my purchase decisions and always try to look out for sales. This haul is a mixture of both needs and wants. Hope you enjoy :)  

I have a lot of guy friends and every now and then they say things like, “must be nice being a girl, getting so much male attention and all. I would feel so special if men just wanted me blah blah!”

I’m not gonna sit here and type a bold lie claiming that we women do not like being noticed, yes we do. We love receiving the occasional compliments and it’s also really nice when strangers do it too but a compliment is just a compliment and the one receiving does not owe anyone anything.

It was just this past Wednesday when I went to the mall for a quick little errand. Took my combi and got off right where the combi drivers and their friends hang out. Sigh! I honestly kinda knew someone was gonna try harass me, I just felt it in my gut...but I’m a big girl and I had this sorted. I walked on head high and avoiding all possible eye contact but I heard that “psssst!”

Oh lord why, why me, why now....

“Pssst! I’m talking to you”, He tries to grab me by the arm but I quickly see it coming and dodged. Let’s be honest here, it’s a lil creepy to see a stranger try to grab you by the arm.

About a minute later I had made it into the mall safe and sound, well that’s what I thought but before I knew it someone grabbed me by the waist and pulled me in close!  

It was that pesky guy from earlier...I got startled and really angry and hit him on the neck. This guy proudly walked away laughing like he did nothing. I felt so belittled and angry. How is it ok to follow a lady around and start grabbing her while fully knowing that she will not like it. Why must we always walk around in fear of being harassed by peole we do not know! 

I always wish to film look books and do OOTD blog posts but finding a camera man is always so hard, my friends also have lives to live and things to do. Luckily at Phikwe I have a few friends willing to help me with stuff like this because at Phikwe most of us go there during the school holidays and have more spare time.

Bet you are wondering what business I have posting about a natural hair event, I mean with my relaxed hair and stuff.

Well I am a big fan of Afrobella and I”m considering going natural so I believe this is a step in the right direction. I also went because my beautiful beautiful YouTube sister Wada from the channel LadyBawss was a guest speaker.

I was sooo proud of her! Words will never even be enough to describe the feeling. The sad bit though is I missed her bit at the event :(

I’m so awful but honestly halfway to the event I realised I did not have my SD card so I had to go back for it.

Being in your early 20s is no doubt an exciting thing, I mean you are old enough get away with most adult things and young enough to still wear that skater skirt and sneakers without raising too many brows. ( Yes, there is that minority of judgemental potatoes who think that maybe you should have already switched to pencil skirts and blazers but who cares right! )

Seems like fun right? WRONG!!! It’s not all fun and games. The early twenties are not so long after high school and everyone is still holding on to those good old days where it was possible to hang out every single day of the week and text through out the night. 

GOSH!

Yes I am a little anti-social but it also feels like people don’t wanna accept that we are older, busier and trying to figure out which life path to follow. On ‘free’ days sometimes all you wanna do is just catch your sanity, silence your thoughts and relax your bothered soul.

A lot of my friends like to say “Oh but Kay you are such a people’s person”, well that’s not a lie but small talk becomes tiring and awkward and I end up feeling like...

I especially tire from people being petty and using emotional blackmail to get to you. 

E.g

“Oh! I remember when you used to care about me, you don’t even text me these days” (It’s usually that person who never even had your number, why the sudden interest!? )

“ Ever since you went to the city you don’t bother checking up on us and visiting “ ( I am a broke student, visiting is a luxury!! )

“ are you suddenly too cool to reply my inbox” ( Yeah sure! It can’t be because I was in class or doing my chores at home )

Batho ba modimo! 

Maybe it’s just me, maybe I struggle with balance and stuff but at times I just feel suffocated by all this.

What is the definition of love? Anyone! No? 

Sigh...well love is defined y the moment I heard this song for the first time (cheesy much?! ) lol seriously though, after I pressed play my heart got stolen. I recreated the video on my nails because fangirls do fangirly things :)

You know I love something if I blog about it twice, this dress is making it’s second appearence on my blog and this time it actually has a twin sister. I bought this dress from Mr price as a reward for being able to save for my camere.

The dress became one of my fave things in the closet and I guess it also had Barati at hello :) We got together and decided to film ways in which we style our fave lace dress

ssHonestly for me winter is a very tricky season, I hate how sometimes I can’t do both feeling warm and looking good. I usually pick warmth over aesthetic appeal hehe!

This OOTD is from so long ago when winter was just starting, It was so cloudy and only now do I realise how grey my skin looks...

This hairstyle made me feel like a samurai haha! I was talking way too much but my friend kept on snapping at me with the camera.

Looks like I was sniffing something in the air right! Well no it was just a natural moment of ugliness.

I accessorised with my fav mid rings from #MRP and this stunning necklace from my aunt.

 I adore it <3

The sweater is from #MRP too and I got it on sale for P60. I believe the original price was about 100 or more, it’s so old I kinda forgot.

The jeans were a gift from my mom, she said she could not ignore them. I have now gained some weight and putting these on hurts both my soul and nails

These boots are the reason why I love ‘Fashion Express’ so much. I have had these babies for about two years and just look at them going strong.

Please just take one more look :p

So what do you thing of my outfit? Wore it again yesterday and remembered how I still had not blogged the look.

Someone slap the blogging senses into me. SIGH!

Interview style typa video, I am no talk show host but this was a fun and different thing to do. I hope to do more chatty and somewhat personal videos too someday (nothing TMI because I am so secretive) but for now watch my first attempt at things whole new thing.

I am hands down not the best YouTuber out here, my videos sometimes make me cringe a little and don’t even get me started on my lighting and camera setting problems. One thing is for sure though, I really love YouTube very much and the people it has brought into my life.

Not only have I met awesome awesome people but I have experience things I would have never experienced sitting at home. Blah blah...I probably say all of this way too much so let me jut link my video

Follow me on an exciting little trip around Gaborone

Here I am at 1 am trying to catch up on my blogging game. Shame on me. I need to work harder and up my game. A full month without posting a single thing.

Not too too long ago I did a very simple nail art tutorials aimed at beginners and people who wanted something cute but quick. I promise you, this is so quick and for the dots you can use a dotting tool like me or use a toothpick. No excuses for anyone :)

We may be going through the “cold” season here in Botswana but honestly that tends to mean nothing.

Our weather is very unpredictable, one minute it’s a normal cold winter day and the next you find yourself sweating buckets and streams. A week before these pictures were taken I actually remember wearing sweaters to school because it was very chilly. 

Aaanyway!

Let me start on this OOTD post before I get carried away.

These black overalls are from MRP and the fabric is very very light, perfect for a hot day. I was especially hot because it was my time of the month and for some reason whenever I am on my period my body temp reaches boiling points.

I love how the design is not the usual one with a front pocket...I cannot stress how light and breathable this fabric is.

I wore my trusty sports bra underneath because I honestly did not feel like dealing with an under-wire bra... ( The bra struggle )

The outfit was very dark so I added a pop of colour with these orange sandals. I love orange so much. The shoes were from Fashion express... Oh! so much comfort

I love carrying a backpack on lazy days, I got this one at a Chinese store. I also use it for school 

Lazy girl habits, I just tied my hair in a ponytail, can you spot the purple highlights?

I am basically a broke UNI student with a love for all things pretty...

Trust me this is not a great combination, I always want things I cannot have haha! but what I love about being broke is that it teaches one how to find affordable things. At this point in time I just think I can smell a sale from a mile away.
