Hey pinky pies. Is that what I should call you guys? 🤭
Anyways, once again I’m back from my hiatus, just here to pop in and get some opinions. My last post talked about how much my mindset has changed for the better and it had me thinking about what I wanted to do with my blog. Should I just leave it as is, an internet archive or should I start posting again? And…should my posts be more about me rather than reposts? Hmmmm decisions, decisions. To be frank I’m not entirely keen on showing my face on here buuuuuuttttt. I do love writing and can definitely see myself incorporating more of that into my blog. I guess I’m just looking for some opinions. I know I’m not active on here…at all, but for those who still rock with me I’d love to get your opinion! 🥹
Should my posts be more about me?

Hey!!!!
Man, it’s been so long since I’ve been on here and I’m not sure how many active followers still rock with my blog. I will say though so much has changed in terms of my mindset and viewpoints about life and the world and I like to think they’ve changed for the better. Don’t get me wrong, the main premise of my blog still stands (a blog dedicated to black girls), however, I feel that my view on femininity, gender and sexuality as a whole has expanded and evolved into being more open and accepting. When I first started my blog at 16, it came from a place a hurt and frustration about not being accepted for who I was; someone who enjoyed what some would call stereotypical “feminine activities” and how it was seen as unacceptable for black girls. I thought that because of this, any black girl who wasn’t like me and perhaps enjoyed more stereotypical “masculine activities” were a detriment to black women and made the collective “look bad”. In my mind I felt that black women were associated enough with masculinity and that we didn’t need to add to the stereotype. It makes me cringe to type this but I must be honest about my mindset at the time. How ironic of me to hate on black girls who liked interests different from mine when the whole premise of my blog stemmed from people doing the same to me. Today, I appreciate all black women and their interests. I’m here for it as long as it isn’t detrimental to themselves or others. Now, am I still a woman who loves pink, fashion, nails, hair, makeup and other “girly” things… hell yeah! And for the most part I think my blog will still cater to that (whenever I’m on here, lol). But no longer will I lean into femininity specific content such as “how a woman should act, dress, speak, etc. That’s not what I believe woman should focus on. We should do what we like, not what others say we should like.

This is so true!!! I see it happen all the time.
“I used to dislike being sensitive. I thought it made me weak. But take away that single trait, and you take away the very essence of who I am. You take away my conscience, my ability to empathize, my intuition, my creativity, my deep appreciation for the little things, my vivid inner life, my deep awareness of others’ pain, and my passion for it all.”
