“Why not? Does it make you nervous?”

“It’s fucking weird. You have something to say, say it. Don’t use a bunch of fancy textbook terms, Trove.”

“Alright, alright. Well you know I’m here if you ever do want to talk.” Carsyn shook her head, letting out a huff of air. “There’s nothing happening between the two of us. There’s no…us anymore.”

Carsyn nodded. “Yeah. For me, too. Maybe there’s something in the air.” She looked over at her friend. She understood his struggles. It’d been that way for her in the beginning too. The emotions had been overwhelming until she’d gotten a hold of them. There were times now, she still felt herself slipping away.

“Well…usually that happens when our human emotions are out of control. Do you want to talk about anything?”

“Want to? No,” He admitted. “But I’ll admit that’s a problem within itself. What about you? Dallon’s been acting weird so something’s happening between you two, right?”

“Crush a toe? No. I’m all in one piece.”

“Thank god, because Dallon would kill me,” He said, glancing at the clock on the dashboard. It was too late for him to go out now. He pulled the car back into it’s space in reverse and took a seat on the hood. He could still use the time he had left away from the training room and let his shoulders slump, relax.
