Congratulations, thatâs already a law for the most part. Automatic firearms are INCREDIBLY expensive due to heavy taxation, require a specific license, and any automatic firearm made after 1986 cannot legally be sold to civilians in America. On top of all that, even PRIOR to the ban in â86, legally owned automatic weaponry has only been recorded in potentially 3 crimes, all of which were murky.

Theyâre not frequent, and in fact have consistently slowed. On top of this, over 90% of all active shooter scenarios are prevented by civilians legally carrying. In fact, if you take the broad definition of âmass shootingâ, which involves any 3 people being injured during a âgun related incidentâ, those cases are overwhelmingly fall into a couple categories: accidental (meaning any hypothetical ban wouldnât actually stop that), gang-related (meaning illegal firearms), or exaggerated (any injury can be counted, even if it isnât from the gun itself).
