New smiler oc lore! (yes i created another one. It's like the uhhh 7th? I think?
Before i get into the lore i wanna say this oc which i spontaneously created today is based on the smiley world x smiler crossover and specifically HEAVILY BASED on this sticker

Jamie is a result of an inhumane experiment by this universe's ministry of joy (will elaborate on them later in the post.)
Jamie didn't have much of a life before its surgery. Born a smiley in smiley town, it lead a peaceful and maybe a little unexciting life. It had friends, family, three siblings named Glee, Hayley and Shay with whom it had a good relationship. It graduated high school with good grades , a prodigy in biology and had just started studying microbiology at university. One day a friend of a friend told it about an underground program of a developing surgery that can help those with clinical depression and other mental illnesses. While this wasn't necessarily Jamie's field , It decided that extra knowledge didn't sound all that bad and went to see this "program". It was a trap and Jamie was used as a guinea pig. Jamie went through extreme surgery , having parts of its brain removed , effectively being lobotomized into feeling nothing but joy. It was vivisected and had its heart removed and replaced by a machine that pumps blood and joy serum and if that wasn't enough , it was pumped with a bunch of DNA altering agents to change its normal smiley face into the smiler's. (the smiler exists in this universe.) Though the appearance changes happened in only half of Jamie's body. The black / yellow split is in a clean , straight line down the middle though in rare cases black veins may be seen branching out from the black side. Jamie's blood has also turned black from neon blue due to the preservatives to keep Jamie alive. Its body is very unstable due to all the modifications. Speaking of , the biggest modification was the external metal spine (internal spine was removed in the vivisection) , with five joy serum vial attachment points. Those feed the brain and body joy serum and preservatives, through artificial cerebrospinal fluid, to keep them from expiring. Jamie can go up to eight hours without the joy vials on their spine due to a secondary preservative point in its heart , though it is significantly weakened. If the 8 hours pass without the vials being re-attached, Jamie will expire.
Other than all this harsh body modification , Jamie (as all advocates , body mods or not) Underwent the usual optical brainwashing.
Advocates with visible body modifications are avoided and excluded from society due to their ranks, (body modifications in a different context are accepted and even praised if it brings the person happiness) so many advocates choose to hide their difference in appearance. The following are the most common examples. Jamie took... an unconventional option and stapled skin directly on the body mods. The inner flesh, blood, and thin veins are synthetic and they are there to keep the skin from drying and rotting. The skin on the other hand? Is real. No one knows where Jamie found it.
This universe's Ministry of joy
This AU's M.O.J is identical to the one we already know , with two differences. First of all is that there aren't humans in this universe , only smileys. The other difference is that they're a lot more unrealistic , with many procedures not being viable in real life , like what I've written above.
While the smiley society is a very happy one, the ministry wants to push this even further. As the actual counterpart , they want to enforce social compliance (they're already halfway there with the way the smiley society is built) and constant , unending joy.
The smilies and their society
The smileys have society similar to ours, though significantly better. They live peaceful lives and their society is built on the collective happiness of the world. Hate, violence, segregation and such concepts are foreign to them. It's not that they don't experience other emotions, but acts of violence and hate are incredibly rare and aren't targeted to specific groups as they see no difference in their kind. Skin color is random at birth. The most common skin is yellow but other colors exist too. Smileys are born with a basic smiley face , and later in life they choose how they want their base face to be. They also don't have gender (or reproductive organs for that matter.) Their base pronouns are it/it's though they may choose she, he or they based on their personal style rather than natural appearance. Smileys have thick skin which feels like faux leather to the touch and is relatively smooth. They developed thick skin to protect them from the elements without the need of any external protection. Their summers are mild but their winters are quite harsh so they may wear coats for extra protection. Clothes are viewed as accessories as there isn't anything to cover up or protect. Only young children and old smileys wear more clothing as they're more prone to sickness. A smiley's blood is neon blue.
SMILEY ANATOMY AND CORRECTED ANATOMY (warning drawn organs)
Smileys have almost identical internal anatomy to humans with the biggest difference being the absence of genitals. Smileys reproduce asexually.
The corrected that get body modifications usually have them in the brain , where surgery to enforce constant happiness ensues and the heart , which is removed and replaced with an artificial one that pumps blood and joy serum (and whatever else the doctors want the patient to have in their system.)
This is the lore of my au!! I spontaneously came up with all this today. I've been thinking of making a smiler x smiley world inspired oc for a while though i didn't expect myself to explore the concept so much!

As I said this is the lore so far. If i ever change it/ retcon anything ect ect I'll update this post or make another one.
