Tsu'tey has a mate who is pregnant with his child. He dies at the battle of Ayram Alusing. His mate, after burying him looks for survivors and stumbles upon grieving So'lek who is hunched over Mamante's body.

She pulls him away from the grave, and they find this weird comfort in eachother with the immense grief they feel. Solek...He is like her sentinel from then on out. They travel west away from it all to mourn and find peace from their losses and become close over several months while building So'leks place in the mountains of the Kinglor forest.

She gives birth and he is there, holding her and caring for her. Realising she is in so much pain and he can't bare to see it, he makes Tsehaylu to help carry her pain.

He's not flooded with just her pain but all the feelings she has developed for him over time through their shared grief. GIRL HAS BEEN YEARNING ( AND SO HAS HE BUT HES SO'LEK SO HE WONT ADMIT THAT OKAY?) Through that bond they choose eachother and he takes the mantle of her mate and step father to her child.
