ALTA Writing Prompt #002

Inspired by 'Searching For Home' and 'found among the lost' by lets_support_frogs on Ao3, fics where Zuko joins the Freedom Fighters. AU where Zuko joins the Freedom Fighters, who are pirates. After some years sabotaging the Fire Nation, malicious bounty hunters and slave traders (as well as being general menaces), they become notorious across the seas. After an unexpected attack, the Freedom Fighters end up helping the Southern Water Tribe against an attacking Fire Nation Ship; after their victory the Southern Water Tribe warriors are shook to see the infamous Freedom Fighters are really... kids? Deciding to work together for the foreseeable future, the warriors get increasingly concerned and involved about all the kids, especially the mysterious scarred child with the golden eyes. Bonus idea: When the Gaang meets up with the tribe, Sokka gets offended that he wasn't allowed to join the warriors, but all these kids could?

An AU where Zuko is banished without a chance of redemption. Somehow, he joins a travelling circus who adores this clearly traumatised and indoctrinated boy Lee, and teaches him knife throwing, magic tricks, and how to firebend changing colours. Zuko joins the Gaang after they watch him perform. Another direction is Ty Lee and Zuko join the circus together, coincidentally or not; then Ty Lee joins the Gaang with Zuko.
