My boyfriend and I tend to fight a lot. Like almost every day and its always the same conversation. But recently he likes to play this game where he says its over and i get mad and tell him to fuck off ,but the he says to chill out and that he was kidding. That he was "fake" breaking up with me. Hes done it twice and I already told him I don't want to play these stupid games.I just i don't know if I'm over reacting or not. Is he really playing or is he being serious ?
It’s more or less an excuse that enables him to have a cushion on deciding whether his statement is real or not without you knowing. For example, I say we’re broken up. But then I feel as though I can’t let you go, I’ll say I’m playing (and I get to keep you because you don’t know if I’m serious). But one day I’ll say it then I’ll wait and if I feel as though I’m over you, I just won’t say anything else on the topic (you don’t know I’m single). This is so I can do single guy shit and get away with it while keeping you strung along in a confusion. You could call me out on it but all I have to say is, “wtf lmao. I’m single. I was pretty direct when I said We’re broken up.” Then you’ll look foolish. Tell him, “Do not play with the status of the relationship anymore. The next time you say it, I’m officially single.” Tell him this the next time you talk to him.
