We’re a few weeks into our construction project here at Phillips Chevrolet in Frankfort, and a lot has changed! The façade on the east side of our exterior has been prepped for the addition that will soon be constructed on that side of the building. The foundation is currently being dug for the quick lube bays that will be added in our service department. The floor of our former delivery bay has been raised to the same level as our showroom soon to become new finance offices, while a new delivery bay will be built in the eastern addition. And this is only the beginning! This $2 million construction project is expected to be completed next spring, but in the meantime our sales and service departments will keep providing the service, selection, and savings that you’ve come to expect from Phillips Chevrolet.  Keep an eye on this blog for updates on our construction as it progresses, or stop by and take a look for yourself. The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV is getting closer and closer to arriving here at Phillips Chevrolet, and today we got more great news about this new electric car. Chevrolet just announced that the Bolt EV will have a base price of $29,995 for the LT trim level after an available federal tax credit of $7,500. The Chevy Bolt EV will provide the roominess of a crossover and an EPA-rated 238 miles of range on a full charge, plus Regen on Demand steering wheel paddle, rear vision camera, and a 10.2-inch diagonal color touch screen with the MyLink system. “Value is a hallmark for Chevrolet and the pricing of the Bolt EV proves we’re serious about delivering the first affordable EV with plenty of range for our customers,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and leader of Global Chevrolet. “We have kept our promise yet again, first on range and now on price.” Phillips Chevrolet of Frankfort and Lansing has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory, as well as a solar charging station free to use for drivers of plug-in Chevy vehicles.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) tested the 2017 Chevy Volt and we are pleased to report that it has earned the Top Safety Pick+ award - the highest rating available. In order to qualify for the Top Safety Pick award, a vehicle must earn high ratings in five different tests. The Volt earned the highest rating of “good” in all five of those tests, which include the small overlap front, moderate overlap front, and side crash tests, as well as the roof strength test and head restraints and seats tests. The Volt received a “superior” rating, the highest rating, for its optional Front Automatic Braking and Low-Speed Front Automatic Braking systems. With summer almost over, it can only mean one thing: auto show season is nearly upon us! The season will start off with the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show this November and Chevrolet is going to reveal two new vehicles.  The big question is; what could the two vehicles be? The best guess is the production Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 will appear, based on spy photos seen through the year. There are also two Chevrolet crossovers that may be the contenders, the 2018 Chevy Equinox and 2018 Chevy Traverse, both have been spied on countless of times. We may also see a Chevrolet Cruze diesel because Chevrolet and GM have stated it was moving full speed ahead with a next-generation Cruze diesel. So, what do you think it could the two vehicles be? Chevrolet has just announced that the Chevy Bolt EV will exceed expectations when it goes on sale later this year, offering an EPA-estimated 238 miles on a single charge. The Bolt EV has already begun earning rave reviews from automotive journalists who’ve been impressed by its spacious interior and quick-off-the-line electric torque. Buyers will be impressed by the price tag, coming in right around $30,000 after a $7,500 federal tax credit. When a journalist for Road & Track got his hands on a 2017 Corvette Grand Sport for a single day, he set out to see if the high performance car could provide a perfect driving day.
