inactive :V

hey everyone, it’s been a minute. i figured the more “”professional”” way to go would be to just be up-front and talk about my inactivity in a post of its own rather than whispering in the tags about it, so here goes:

i’m pretty much abandoning this blog.

i’m sure it’s kinda obvious seeing as i haven’t posted in a while already, but after giving it some thought, i’ve decided that it’s best if i just close down the account altogether and leave the HC fandom for good. there’s a multitude of reasons as to why i decided to do this, and i’m sure a lot of you can kind of get an idea for some of them. although HC is one of the most amazing fandom experiences i’ve had in a long time, there’s also a lot of toxicity in this community as well. seeing new drama on my dash almost every few days – along with the inherently divisive culture that it sprouts from – was starting to take a major toll on my mental health. on top of that, i simply just...don’t have an interest in HC anymore. it was fun while it lasted and the hermits will always have a special place in my heart, but i can only consume so much content before it starts to become stale for me.

this isn’t to say that i didn’t have a good run, though: i’ve learned so much about my abilities as an artist and have been inspired to challenge myself creatively more often than ever before, and i owe it all to HC/the community for pushing me to places i’ve never been. it’s been a wild ride, and i’ve absolutely met some awesome people while i was here, but all good things come to an end, i suppose.

as for the isles server: i admit i haven’t checked it in a while, so i’m not sure if it’s very active anymore or not, but i have plans to relinquish control and hand it to the mod team to keep it running, if they so choose to. i have no plans to take it down. the same thing goes for my AUs + content + this blog in general.
