You have to think carefully when making a decision. Being sad about choosing what we love versus being sad about choosing something we don't love are 2 very different things.

Feelings don’t stack into nice, neat little boxes that you can categorize and file away — they’re messy and pointy and squishy, and they don’t behave how you want them to.

Both professionals and amateurs, they all make mistakes. An amateur blames the world, but a professional takes time in reflecting on themselves. Time which an amateur like you wouldn’t dare to think about.

You’re a fish from the great depths: blind and luminous. You’re swimming in troubled waters with the modern world’s rage, but in the frail poetry of another era.

There is no other place to rest that is more comfortable than in your arms, now I regret it sometimes when I breathe next to the pillow you used.

Sometimes, not wanting to do anything is proof that we are still alive. When you're emotionally overwhelmed by feeling insignificant and stressed, try to resolve it visually. Sometimes, searching for our overly dulled sense of visual beauty and not forgetting about it can be such a huge honor and blessing.

Let's talk about love. How does love rewire the brain? When we meet somebody new and exciting, they invade our synapses like a virus, triggering neurochemicals that feed into attraction, arousal, even obsession. We get distracted. We think about that special someone all the time, even in the middle of a brilliantly stimulating lecture. But we're not just thinking about them. We're building an internal model A simulation that helps us predict what they'll think or how they'll feel. Of course, relationships get into trouble when the simulation meets reality. Which begs the question... do we ever really fall in love with another person, or just with our idea of who they are?

For a long while now, I've suspected that connection with another person, real connection, simply isn't possible. I'm curious if you disagree, although I suspect you feel as I do in this, as you do in so many other things. So tell me: is it possible to truly know another person? Is it even a worthwhile pursuit?
