At her stabbing words, Peter feigned pain, but felt angerâ- Then, she mentioned Malia and his wolf snarled within him, but Peter froze, face emotionless as he looked into her eyes. The more she spoke, the more Peter realized there was no rationalizing with her. However, he understood. Beneath all the tough walls, thorns and the shit, Katherine was scared. She didnât wish to die and Peter could understand. The only problem was that he only had the barrier to think about, Katherine had to figure out why and how she was brought to life before she could even start thinking about what the barrier even meant. Sounded complicated and suicidal and his instincts told him to run.
Katherine was in trouble, even if she forced herself to ignore it.
âFace them?â he asked, now really taking a few steps back. âSo, youâre fighting Lilith? Youâre really going toe-to-toe with this bitch?â he asked her. âI am defeated,â Peter sighed as he turned from the vampire, the world being pulled from his feet as he realized he was the only sane motherfucker left in Beacon Hills. âI better start preparing for my next resurrection,â he said to himself after having covered his face with both of his hands.
âYea, yea⌠Whatever, Iâll help,â he said as an afterthought when she threatened him. âI guess dying itâs better than nothing,â he added in a grumpy mumble. âI donât like your girlfriend though,â Peter said almost immediately after his mumble, speaking of Erika Madsen. âFix her attitude, Iâll be good and wag my tail a bit even,â he promised. Although it still hung heavy on him the possibility of everyone in town fighting Lilith when they should be running for their lives. âAlso, wonât you both burn at the sight of holy stuff? Because youâre going to have to read a Bible at some point to learn more.âÂ
âIâm not an idiot, Peter. Iâm not fighting her, unless Iâm in a corner, which I donât intent to be.â She got more irritated with every word she heard or spoke. âRunning is my specialty, but as you might remember, weâre still trapped in this hellhole. Until further notice, we need to hide within Beacon Hills and have ways to defend ourselves. We need a plan A, a plan B, a plan C, and so goes the alphabet.â As someone whoâs trademark was running from Klaus Mikaelson, Katherine didnât look forward to facing an even worse devil.
She rolled her eyes at the mention of Erika. âErika is my problem. And if a vampireâs personality was the worse of our problems, this discussion wouldnât even be necessary.â Of course, Erika was decided to stay, but with hellâs gates openning in Beacon Hills, maybe Katherine could convince her that it was safer for her, Olivia and Henrik to also search for a way out, you know, just in case.
âSure, try to kill me with holy water someday, just to see how well that ends up for you.â She answered, with no patience for Peterâs bullshit. âJust stop looking at thing from only one side, Peter. Weâre way too deep in shit to not consider every possibility. Youâre lucky I can multitask.â Her head was working way faster than her words could show, exhausting every possible pathway to safety in her mind. She was so desperate she even considered allying herself to Klaus. He sure had enough to protect in Beacon Hills.
