It's been a while uuhhh. Honestly would be sad if Hazel had Dev at a party and threw confetti and he was just. Not good but masked it in front of Hazel until eventually he lies about having to go home sick. Poor guy
I ACTUALLY THINK HE'D LASH OUT. Dev is... not the greatest at masking his feelings, sometimes.
I think, in the case of him seeing confetti on the ground like that, he'd very likely very clearly Freak Out. And THEN he'd get EXTREMELY DEFENSIVE. "I'm not some dumb BABY that can't handle a little bit of CONFETTI, Harpoon!"
"Yoouuuu...! Really look like you're about to throw up! D: ???"
"NO I'M NOT!" He says, while he actively is fighting off that urge as we speak. Because GOOODDD does the sight of confetti GENUINELY make him nauseous.
ANYWAY! YEAH! I can very, VERY much imagine something along those lines happening. Confetti everywhere. MAYBE IT'S FROM SOMETHING IN CLASS? And Dev is sitting there and suddenly he's clasping his hand over his mouth and his stomach is gurgling and now he's suddenly feeling very, VERY sick. AND... I think he'd KNOW why. I mean, yeah, he'd very obviously be able to put two-and-two together, LMAO, but I can still picture him, like... IDK HOW TO DO WORDS, BUT, LIKE...
I can imagine that he's sitting there feeling SO dumb and SO stupid, because why is he overreacting over THIS? Yeah, sure, whatever, Peri exploding was Not Fun to witness, and he is aware that he hates confetti and all that now, but SERIOUSLY? Him suddenly feeling SICK over it? Confetti making him EMOTIONAL? Ugh! He needs to grow UP. Stop acting like a BABY. It's just CONFETTI.
...Peri has a lot of weird feelings about it, too! Which... also makes sense. Lots of complicated feelings all the way around.
SORRY! SORRY! I'M RAMBLING! I really, REALLY missed this AU, guys...
The old one is still accurate! ...Except for the fact that I forgot the wings, </3, BUUTTT! HERE THEY ARE! I REALLY wanted to make it look nicer and less chaotic... PLUS I plan on adding him to my ArtFight this year! Keep an eye out for that! :D
One of my FAVORITE gags in the show is when Cosmo says the most UNHINGED thing ever... and then he's RIGHT. And I can VERY easily imagine a scene like that in this AU.
Context is loosely in the air here, cause it can be any nonspecific scene [for now, anyway!], but there is at least a General Idea of how it'd be. It makes me giggle...

"Oohh, Peri's been acting super on-edge for a while. It worries me that the whole Magical Backup thing that happened with Dev might've... startled them a bit, y'know?"
"Ooohh, yeah, that makes sense. I mean, I'd be super nervous and on-edge too if I almost exploded. Ooor if I DID explode. And if I exploded in front of Dev, and the only reason I was able to be here right now with everyone was because Hazel's wish to bring everything back to normal both was and wasn't her Millionth Wish at the same time. And if it made me all weird and funny and also a GHOST!"
Shudders, "eehh! Yeaahh, I'd be super on edge and scared to face my parents after that, if that was me, too!" Then there's a long pause, "wait. What are we talking about?"
"Cosmo... we're talking about Peri."
"OOHH, that's right! Sorry, Wanda! I thought it was our daily 4pm fantasy wish story time! Yeaahh, the whole Battle of the Big Wand thing was HORRIBLE! I clinged to him for HOURS, Wanda! We were both SOOO scared that we were gonna lose our son!"
And then there's an over-the-top sobbing animation and then he like... whirls around and squeezes her and pulls her into a super tight kind of comedic hug. Wanda getting those big sad ol' eyeballs.
If this stemmed from a conversation with Hazel, Wanda would probably say something like, "sorry, Hazel, it's still a really touchy subject. Do you think we could maybe talk about something a little leessss... uh... not.. great?"
[If it DID stem from a conversation with Hazel, it would've been after an awkward moment with Peri. Like him getting stuck in the wall, appearing in front of them with a suspicious looking pile of confetti, getting super awkward and nervous about his wand and/or crown. And Dev also getting super defensive about anything at all. THERE ARE A LOT OF POSSIBILITIES HERE...]

Iiiiiiii... am a bit late to this, buuutt Petri!Peri is over a year old now. Kind of wild kind of crazy, actually!

GHOST DETECTED! I've been having thoughts about a silly funny scenario where Hazel is having some fun silly bonding time with her dad and it's just... ghost hunting. Some rambles below the cut... if you wanna hear em.

I definitely want to turn this into a fun silly one-shot at some point... BUT. FOR NOW IT'S JUST FUN SILLY RAMBLES. Hazel n' Marcus are just, y'know, hanging out. Spending time like family. Ghost hunting! Like I mentioned... >:D
ANYWAY. HAZEL SEEING PERI. She's just... "nope, nothing here! The wall, the floor, Peri, some photos— wait— PERI?!" AND SHE JUST... PULLS THE HEADSET OFF. Sees nothing. Blinks slowly. Marcus is just like, "what's up, Hazelnut?"
"Oh! Ittt'ssss... just PERI nice to get to spend time with you, Dad!"
AND THEN. Y'know those moments where a character like... does a double take. Takes off the headset, puts it back on, takes it off, puts it back on... yea. She's SO CONFUSED! Muttering to herself like, "since when could this thing see faries???"
OKAY OKAY I'M... GONNA STOP THIS RAMBLE HERE. BUT I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS. Fun silly fun times! :)

Another, fresh set of rainbows pours onto the already flooded-floor. Dev's eyes grow wide as he snaps his gaze in the fairy's direction; they're more than a good few feet away, and, yet, it suddenly feels like he's way too close. He places a hand over his mouth and gags; their face is smothered in colors as their magic seeps out through their eyes and streams down like tears. An incoherent sound bubbles out of Peri's throat as they watch their Godkid through blurred vision, and they gasp, "Deeeeevvvvvvvvv!!!"
"Oh my God," Dev gags, again, voice squeaking, "what the freak is WRONG with you?!" A low groan from his stomach causes him to clutch it with his free hand; bile builds up in the back of his throat, and he bites his lip to keep himself from gagging a third time at the sight. It's beyond sickening— it's vile— repulsive—
"Deeevvvv, I got you some LACK-TOES free pizza!" Peri's wings twitch in sync with their legs as they kick them in the air, and their words slur together as they wheeze, "since it's not against Da Rules..."
"I don't CARE about the STUPID RULES—!" He moves his hand away from his mouth as he yells, which is followed by immediate regret as he breaks into a coughing fit of his own. Peri stares up at him, eyeballs big and wide, as he continues, "they're DUMB!" Shakiness fills his tone, and he takes a step back, unable to look away as rainbows ooze out of their ears, "and YOU'RE dumb! Because ALL you do is FOLLOW THEM!"
"I goottttaaaa, kiiidddddd," Peri replies deliriously, rolling onto their side and reaching their hand out to him. Whatever response they're about to form next gets cut off as they cough, however; they whine in pain and fall back onto their stomach with a disturbingly comedic squeak. Dev flinches and covers his eyes, chest burning with a heavy sense of guilt, dread, and… disgust. Thoughts scatter through his mind like bugs— millions of them— and he trembles as his hot, heavy breaths pick up a bit of pace. Of COURSE, leave it up to the FAIRIES to have the most disgusting deaths possible—
A choked sob rips through the kid's throat as his voice breaks; "WELL, MAYBE I WISH THE RULES JUST DIDN'T FREAKING EXIST! BECAUSE THEY'RE CLEARLY KILLING YOU!!!"
