He turns around just to spare everyone the visuals, but there's a loud CRUNCH, followed by a slight glow and the sound of time reversing by a single second. He turns back and his glasses are fully intact.

I think if the metal wasn't supposed to be eaten, it shouldn't taste as good ;P

Petey interrupted Ted's train of thought, “Has anyone told you it's very, very, very rude to stare? Never seen a sniggle before?” ...Sniggle? Geez, like those things on those annoying toy ads? Ted's worldview could not have possibly shattered any more, and yet he was just learning that those children's mascots were real creatures. Next he was going to find out that Teletubbies was a nature documentary or something. “If you're not gonna say anything, that gives me permission to keep talking,” Petey sticked out their tongue, mockingly, like a child, “Some things about meee: I like puzzles and games and having a fun time! And I HATE doing NOTHING, so that's why I'm talking to you!” God, he was like a kid again, but not the kid Ted remembered. That shy little kid who would crumple up like a wet paper towel if asked about what he liked? Was there any part of Peter left in the monster before him?
