(Note: this is just a fictional story, and my intent is not to offend, but rather to bring just a small sense of hope and wonder during these times. I apologize in advance for anyone who would take offense, but as i said this is just fictional.)
There's an urban myth going around about a guy, looking like a young package deliveryman, seen around cities and towns. He's described as a young man with a topknot, patterned cloth mask and a sling bag, often seen travelling on a bicycle.
He appears on front doors or delivery bays, often delivering food, essential items and medicine, even PPEs. When asked who the items are from, he only says that they're from anonymous donors.
Before he leaves, he always makes this weird peace sign and says 'blessings'. When he does, some people swear that, for a few seconds, electric or gas lights get brighter, or clouds seem to part to let sunlight in. Right after he leaves, people say they get a sense of calmness and feel like everything's going to get better somehow.
He seems to only appear where the pandemic has hit, and in many of the places where he makes a delivery anyone who is sick there somehow heals faster at a miraculous rate.
As this myth went around the interwebs, people from around the world swear to have seen him, yet when they tried to chase him, he just seemed to disappear around the corner, or behind a truck, a car, or even behind a person passing.
Some people say he's an angel, or some sort of saint, but because of his looks and the miracles that happen wherever he makes a delivery, people have started to call him the Pandemic Buddha.
Mixed media (colored pencils and metallic pen) on sketch paper
It's been so long since I've used colored pencils to draw, but this is my first time using prismacolor pencils. I had to mix using faber castell colored pencils though, because i only have the basic set of prismacolor. The prismacolor pencils really are smooth and buttery, and i really like the blender pencil.
-His 'weird peace sign' is actually the prana mudra, which, from what i understand, is a hand position that gives healing, improves immunity & gives a feeling of peace; it's also known as the peace mudra. Another ineresting thing about this is in old paintings/drawings, Jesus is often shown with his hand in this position.
-The pattern on his mask is called the flower of life, which is believed to hold most, if not all shapes, patterns, constants & equations that are present in nature when measured (metatron's cube, pi, etc.) The pattern of the flower of life has been found in the oldest cultures all around the world.
