When The World Begins Again, We Can Too

The air feels lighter, the sun lingers later in the evening, and the world seems to awaken after months of dormancy. This raises an interesting question: if spring so strongly resembles a beginning, why do we insist that the new year starts in January?

Each December, we repeat the same ritual. We sit down with a new set of resolutions and promise ourselves that January will be different. We vow to wake earlier, eat healthier, work harder, and finally become the person we have long intended to be. Yet, January arrives in the middle of winter, when the mornings are dark, the air is cold, and even getting out of bed can feel like a negotiation. It is hardly the most natural season for reinvention.

Spring, by contrast, carries a natural sense of renewal. As the days grow longer and people return outdoors, the world begins to feel lighter and more alive.
