This piece is based on my reactions toward the fallacy of art academia, fake feminism, bougie bitches and the realization of how much utter bullshit there is in the art world/schools. We are ultimately living in a time of decadence, one that is reminiscent of Marie Antoinette’s reign before the French Revolution. I find our first world problems to be utterly hypocritical, and meant for this performance to be a big middle finger to narcissistic academics who believe that their pseudo-intellectual neoliberalism is somehow an answer to the horrors in the world, which our privileged existence shelter us from. I am calling for a new form of liberalism which takes personal responsibility for our privilege and exposes the fact that ACTION (not sitting in an office scoffing at the rest of the world), is the best way to create awareness in society. That is the function of art, after all, to expose and call to question the issues of modern day society.
