“No.. no I feel awful. I would be happy to make you another batch if you want.” 

“No it’s quite alright no problem.”

“I’ve got to get this cooking thing under control. I don’t think it’s supposed to be burnt. Sorry” Elle replied nervously

“It’s quite alright.”

“So.. You just wanted to see what it was like, or?” she frowned a little, trying to understand what just happened. 

“Yes basically.”

“You could if you would like to.”

“Sorry, I’m just…  I don’t really feel up for it.  Maybe some other time.”

“Why have you been ignoring me.”

“It would be ok but  not lovely just artificial.”

“I haven’t done anything much.. thank you for bringing him in.” He wrote shrugging, a small cracked laugh escaped his voice still not strong. He bit the inside of his lip. “I.. I’m doing okay.” He wrote slowly taking a deep breath. “I had successful surgery which is great.. recovering from concussion.. got big news and handling that.. well the best that I am able given where we are and of course hoping the person involved is doing well.” He wrote. “A lot has happened.”

“I see, a concussion? How did that happen?”
