I knew something was wrong with the older sister, when she came back home late. And I was terrified when she introduced her little sister to a room full of men. I felt awkward for sis, and Stack staring at her wasn't making it any better.
When she was running through the field, I just kept saying don't stop and don't look back!!!
But I want to see how she handles this, because she still seems to have mind right I think...
I just need more parts because Stack definitely coming off as possessive. Randomly showing up to her house, introducing his self to her family in the street without her knowing like OH he's crazy lmao
đđ your mindddd I love the idea of a crazy ass stack just popping up on her places ! I have some other work to put out first but I could definitely do a mini continuation of needle & tongue soon !

He pull you back by the waist, chuckling at how you whined from the fill he gave you. Stack had you bent over in a deep arch, screaming his name into the sheets of your bed.
"Oh c'mon now, ain't you the one that saidâshitâ you can take it?"
He groaned, slowing down his thrusts to get a better view of him dissapearing inside you, the thick ring of your juices rimmed around his base, some of it running down your shaking thighs.
"Mmm-fuck! Stackâwaitt.!"
You tried grabbing at his hand to slow him down, only for him to grip at your wrist and use it as an anchor, pulling you slightly back to get a deeper arch and deeper range inside you.
"Allat' talk, look where that big mouth got you!"
He hissed out, grinding his hips oh so painfully against yours, managing to wrap his other hand right under you and rub at your clit, drunk on the way you clenched around him.
"Mnghfâfuuck! I'm gon' cum, Stack pleaseee!"
You cried out, body pushing right back against his in pursuit of your orgasm, the man above you only pressing his fingers down as he drew faster circles while drilling himself into you.
"I ain't stack 'round here baby, you know my name pretty."
It's cruel the way he had you right on edge, holding back from letting you burstâoh but you loved it, drooling into the pillow beneath your head from this.
"Mm..Eliasâplease, Elias!"
He groaned out, satisfied with the way his name was sung from your swollen lips, eyes rolling back as he gave a few weak thrusts. Your breathe caught in your throat before you broke out in curses and moans.
He had pulled out and layed next to your numb body, thumb rubbing at your shoulder after he presses delicate kisses.
Savoring the moment of his skin on yours and the intimacy of his embrace.
đ đđđđđđđđ ⤠Elias âStackâ Moore
đđđđđđđđ ⤠youâre soft-spoken, virgin living with her older sister sibella finally gives in to the persistent, cocky advances of elias âstackâ mooreâher sisterâs boyfriendâs friend.
đđđđđđđ đđđđ ⤠something to feed you guys because iâve became so not active. enjoy!
đđđđ đđđđđ ⤠10.3k
đđđđđđđđ ⤠virginity loss, smut, rough sex, breathplay, choking, dirty talk, praise, overstimulation, black reader (but anyone can imagine themselves), dumbification, fingering, oral (f. receiving), backshots, size kink, modern au, slight pain from first time, post-sex soreness.
you never really cared when sibella and her man got loud.
they could be in the next room, door cracked open, her voice moaning high-pitched and desperate while his sounded like it came from his chestâgritty and mean like he enjoyed knowing she couldnât keep quiet. it happened too often for it to phase you. maybe the first time youâd been embarrassed. maybe youâd rolled your eyes, stuffed a pillow over your head, huffed loud enough for them to hear. but now? you were used to it. background noise. like the heater kicking on or a pot boiling over.
sibella had always been the wild one. you were soft. quiet. watched and listened more than you spoke. you liked your room, your books, your own air. sibella, on the other hand, liked attention, chaos, dick. sheâd tell you things you never asked to hearâhow good it felt when he held her neck, how she liked it rough, how you were too uptight for your own good.
âyou gonâ die with that pussy untouched,â she said one night, fresh out the shower in a towel, her eyes still lined in smudged makeup.
you just looked at her from your bed, a little amused. âand?â
âgirl,â she laughed, climbing up beside you, âyou act like keeping it makes you better. ainât nobody judging you, but you really ainât even curious?â
you shrugged. it wasnât that you thought you were better. you just didnât want to fake wantinâ something you didnât feel yet. and maybe it wasnât even about sex, just the idea of someone closeâreally close. breath on your skin, hands down your thighs, someone else seeing all of you. you didnât know what that would feel like, and you didnât think it was something you wanted to rush. sibella had called you âold-fashioned.â her boyfriend, troy, had called you âuptightâ once, but you didnât care. it was your body. and they could live how they wanted, but so could you.
until he started coming around.
stack.
the first time he showed up at your apartment, you ignored him like you always did with troyâs friends. theyâd come in loud, laughing, all of them trying too hard to impress each other. chain-smoking, playing music, shouting about basketball or some shit you didnât care about. you usually stayed in your room. maybe came out to grab something to drink or use the bathroom. most of the time they barely noticed you. but not stack.
from the second he laid eyes on you, it was like he already knew you were gonna be a problem for him. and he decided to be one right back.
âdamn,â heâd said loud, grinning, watching you walk to the fridge in your house shorts. âshe donât say hi? too good to speak?â
you didnât answer. not even a glance. pulled a bottle of water from the fridge and walked back to your room. door closed behind you.
that was the beginning.
he started showing up more after that. it didnât matter if troy was around or not. sometimes heâd knock on your front door with food for sibella, claiming she asked him to drop it off. sometimes heâd come by just to talk to troy, linger around the living room even when the conversation dried up. you caught him staring. a lot. and he didnât try to hide it either.
âyo,â he said one night from the couch while you passed through in leggings and a hoodie, âyou ever wear anything that donât hug that ass?â
you gave him a flat look. âdo you ever shut the fuck up?â
he grinned like he liked that answer. like you fed him instead of shut him down. âmmm. lil attitude. i like that. you actinâ mean, but i know thatâs just âcause you shy.â
you rolled your eyes. sibella laughed from the kitchen.
âyou might as well get to know him,â she said later, when yâall were alone. âhe not that bad. cocky, yeah. but thatâs just how he is. underneath all that extra shit, he cool.â
you werenât convinced. but three months of him showing up, finding you in whatever room you tried to hide in, cracking jokes, complimenting your skin, your mouth, your shapeâhe wore you down. maybe it was the way heâd make you laugh without meaning to. or the fact that when you actually sat down and talked to him, he had more to him than you thought. he was smart. surprisingly observant. heâd tell you about his childhood, his mom, his twin brother. and when you spoke, he listened. remembered little things you said in passing and brought them up days later.
âyou like strawberry cream in your coffee, right?â
âyou said you like sadeâput this on.â
âyou was talkinâ âbout them earrings you saw at the mall. i got you a pair.â
and it started getting harder to treat him like the rest.
you didnât mean to let your guard down. but it was hard not to with him. stack had a charm about him that crept up slow. he was always touching you. not in ways that crossed lines at firstâjust light brushes against your waist when he passed behind you in the kitchen, knuckles on your thigh when he leaned too close, fingers tucking a curl behind your ear. at first, you shut it down. pushed his hand off your leg. shifted away from his body. made sure he knew you werenât that type of girl. but he never got mad. never pushed. he just gave you that same cocky-ass smile like he knew youâd give in eventually.
âyou playinâ hard to get,â he said once, his thumb dragging lazy circles across your bare knee. âbut you like that iâm on you. you just donât know what to do with it yet.â
you didnât even respond. but your breath had caught in your throat when he said it. and he noticed.
he always noticed.
still, you never told him you were a virgin. it wasnât something you wanted to throw out casually. you figured he probably assumed you were just picky. maybe waiting for the right one. sibella never told him, and you doubted troy knew either. and honestly, you liked keeping that part of you tucked away.
then came that one night.
it was a friday. sibella and troy had gone out, probably wouldnât be back âtil the next morning. you were stretched out on the couch in your usualâshort shorts, tank top, no bra, nipples pressing faintly through the fabric. you werenât trying to be sexy, but you werenât hiding either. you texted elias just outta boredom.
you busy?
he texted back quick.
for you? nah. slide thru? or you want me over there?
come here.
ten minutes later, he was knocking.
he smelled like his cologne, the one you were starting to recognize. brought a little weed with him, a smirk that made your stomach flutter even though you pretended it didnât. yâall rolled up on the floor first, sitting cross-legged across from each other, talking shit. smoke drifted lazy through the room. the air got thick, quiet between laughs and teasing.
you felt good. loose. warm behind the eyes.
âi donât get you,â he said low, leaning back on his elbows, watching you from the couch now. âyou sexy as hell, smart, got that attitude on you⌠but you act like you scared of me.â
âi ainât scared,â you said, biting your lip slightly.
ânah. you are. or maybe you scared of you. âcause if i touch you again, you gonâ fold. i see it all on your face.â
you didnât answer. you were already crawling into his lap, slow and deliberate like your body moved before your brain. the weed had you floatinâ. his eyes locked on yours, waiting.
âyeah?â he said, hands sliding up the backs of your thighs, fingertips just under the edge of your shorts. âyou sure you want me touchinâ you?â
you nodded, heart racing.
you kissed him. for real this time. not like the other stolen little moments when heâd pressed his mouth to yours and you turned your head too quick. this was deep. hot. full of tongue. he gripped your hips tighter, groaning into your mouth like heâd been holding back too long.
his hands moved. over your ass, up your back, fingers gripping the sides of your tank. he kissed your neck, sucked at the curve of your collarbone. heat spilled down your belly. your legs were straddling him now, his dick hard under you through his sweats, pressing up against your core.
he flipped you under him, moving slow like he was waiting for you to say no. one hand slipped down your stomach, toward the waistband of your shorts, and just when he hooked his fingers inâ
âwait,â you whispered.
his eyes flicked up.
âwhatâs up?â
âiâm a virgin.â
his face went blank. still. he blinked, mouth parted just slightly like he didnât hear you right.
âwhat?â
you looked away. âi ainât never⌠like, at all.â
he sat back on his heels, staring at you for a long second.
âyou serious?â
you nodded.
he exhaled slow, ran a hand down his face.
ââŚfuck.â
his âfuckâ lingered in the air like heat.
for a second, you thought he might leave. thought maybe you read it wrongâmaybe the way heâd chased you down for months didnât mean he actually wanted you like that. maybe it was just for show, a game to get you to break. but he didnât move. didnât get up. didnât pull away either.
he just looked at you different now. softer, but still sharp. eyes a little darker. mouth twitching like he had a hundred thoughts moving at once.
ââŚyou shoulda told me that shit,â he muttered, finally. âdamn.â
you swallowed, feeling small under him, but not in a bad way. just new. raw. like being seen too clearly.
âyou mad?â
he shook his head slowly. ânah. i ainât mad. just⌠surprised. you ainât act like no virgin.â
âhow they act?â
he leaned forward again, lips brushing your neck now, voice dropping lower. ânot like this. not sittinâ in my lap witâ no bra on. not kissinâ me like that. shit, i thought you was just takinâ your time. had no idea i was gonâ be the first.â
you shivered under his mouth.
âyou want me to stop?â
you shook your head.
âaight then,â he breathed, hands sliding back down your thighs. âyou sure, you let me handle it.â
he kissed you again. deeper this time. slower. like he was tasting you different now. his hands didnât rush, but they didnât hesitate either. he dragged your shorts down your legs, steady like he was unwrapping something delicate. your tank top went next, peeled off and tossed aside. your whole body burned. you covered your chest at first, instincts kicking in, but he gently pulled your hands down.
ânah. donât hide all this. lemme see it.â
you looked away, but he tilted your chin back to face him. he stared for a long second, eyes trailing down your curves like he was trying to memorize every line.
âgod damn, girl,â he whispered, low and reverent. âyou really built like this under all them hoodies?â
you blushed, biting back a laugh.
he moved down your body slow, mouth brushing your collarbone, your chest, your stomach. then he was kneeling between your legs, lifting one over his shoulder, spreading you open like he had all the time in the world.
âshit,â he murmured, thumb dragging over your folds. âso fuckinâ pretty. pussy fat as hell.â
you squirmed under his grip, toes curling.
âyou ever play witâ it before?â he asked.
you nodded. âsometimes.â
âshow me.â
you hesitated, but he gave you a look that melted any doubt in your chest. you brought your fingers to your slit, shy at first, dragging them up the center like you were doing it in secret. he watched you like it was the most beautiful thing heâd ever seen. eyes locked. jaw tight.
âmmm. there you go. you wet already?â
he ran his fingers over yours, dipped one between your lips and brought it up to your mouth.
âtaste that shit.â
you sucked his finger slow, your own breath catching as you did.
he groaned. âfuck, you nasty already. i like that.â
then he lowered his head.
his tongue was slow at first. wide, wet licks that made your whole body tremble. he took his time, holding your thighs open, lips sealed around your clit, tongue dragging figure eights against it âtil you moaned out loud without meaning to.
âdonât hold it in,â he said against you. âi wanna hear that shit.â
he sucked harder. circled your clit faster. then slid a single finger inside you and your hips jerked up from the bed.
âtight,â he growled. âfuckinâ gripping me.â
you grabbed at his hair, breathing fast now, your whole body winding tighter and tighter until everything snapped. your legs shook around his head, mouth open but nothing coming out except a breathy sob as you came for the first time with somebody elseâs mouth on you.
he pulled away slow, lips shiny, licking his bottom one like heâd just finished dessert.
âdamn. you taste like peaches or some shit,â he said, laughing low. âsweet ass pussy.â
you were still trembling when he moved back up your body, kissing you deep so you could taste yourself on his tongue.
then he pulled his sweats off.
your eyes widened.
ââŚelias.â
he smirked. âyeah?â
you didnât even know what to say. he was thick. long. heavy. it curved up slightly, veins bulging down the shaft, head dark and already leaking. he stroked it slow, watching your face like he wanted to see your brain short-circuit.
âthis too much for you?â
you nodded, honestly. âi dunno if itâll fit.â
âit will,â he said, voice low and certain. âiâm gonâ go slow, baby. i got you.â
he kissed you again, then guided the head to your entrance, rubbing it through your folds.
âjust breathe. let me in a lil at a time.â
he pushed slow. real slow. and it still burned. you winced, grabbing onto his arm, and he stilled right away.
âyou good?â
âkeep goinâ,â you whispered, nails digging into his skin.
he went deeper. inch by inch, until your eyes rolled back and your breath caught. he filled you completely, bottomed out with a groan in your ear.
âfuck,â he muttered. âyou tight as a fuckinâ vice. shit.â
he stayed there for a second, letting you adjust. kissed the side of your neck, your shoulder, your cheek.
âyou takinâ it so good, baby. ainât even cryinâ. first dick and you already built for it.â
he moved his hips slow, dragging out, then back in, just enough for you to feel the stretch again. it was painful, but the pain faded quick. pleasure started creeping in, humming low in your belly.
âsee that? told you iâd make it fit.â
you whined beneath him, eyes fluttering.
âthatâs it,â he said, fucking you a little deeper now. âlet me ruin you.â
your fingers gripped the sheets. he held your throat lightlyânot tight yet, just enough to feel the pressure. his other hand cupped your breast, thumb flicking over your nipple.
âfeel good?â he asked. âyou like this dick, donât you?â
you nodded, breathless.
he tightened his grip on your neck just enough to make your head float.
âsay it.â
âiâi like it,â you stammered, brain going fuzzy from the pressure, the stretch, the sound of his voice in your ear.
âyeah you do. got that virgin pussy dumb already.â
you moaned louder.
âyou ainât never gonâ forget this dick,â he said, cock driving deeper now, hips smacking yours. âfirst one in it, first one to stretch it, first one to own it.â
you couldnât even speak.
he flipped you over, pulled your hips up and fucked you from behind now, one hand on the small of your back, the other gripping your hair.
âthis the angle thatâll fuck the innocence out you,â he muttered, dragging his dick slow then slamming back in, making you scream into the mattress. âyou feel that in your gut?â
your whole body shook. you were drooling on the sheets, eyes wet, legs trembling.
âlemme see that face,â he said, pulling you back by your hair. âlook at me while i break you in.â
you glanced over your shoulder, mouth parted, and he almost came right then.
âbeautiful ass girl. i swear to god, iâm gonâ fuck you stupid.â
and he did.
he didnât stop. kept going, made you cum againâtwice, maybe three times. you couldnât keep track. everything was wet. the sheets. his chest. your face. your thighs. he lifted your leg, drilled into you from the side, choked you through another orgasm. your moans turned into sobs. pleasure ate your brain alive.
âstackâfuckâi canâtââ
âyes you can,â he growled, pounding into you. âyou takinâ it like a fuckinâ champ.â
your nails raked his back. his hand squeezed your throat again, hard enough to make the edges of your vision blur.
you came one more time, back arched, toes curling, legs locked around his waist.
he groaned deep, spilling inside you with a twitch.
everything went still.
all you heard was your heartbeat. your breath. his deep, ragged one against your skin.
you were ruined. for real.
he kissed your forehead after, gently. ran his hand up and down your back.
âyou good?â
you nodded, tears drying on your cheeks.
ââŚi ainât never lettinâ nobody else touch you,â he said, voice low, possessive. âyou mine now. you know that, right?â
you just nodded again.
because deep down, you already knew.
you woke up before him.
barely. the sun hadnât even fully crept through the curtains yet. just a strip of light cut across your comforter, hitting the edge of the bed where elias was sprawled out, ass-naked, sleeping like heâd just come home from war. one arm slung over his eyes, the other draped where your body had been. the sheets were a mess. the air still smelled like sex, weed, and sweat.
your thighs ached.
you groaned softly when you moved, careful not to wake him. every inch of you felt soreâinside, outside, places you didnât even know could hurt. your hips were tender. your legs had that heavy, overworked kind of weight to them. and your pussy? bruised. not in a bad way. but like it remembered every single stroke.
you held onto the edge of the dresser for balance while you stood up, wobbling a little. took a second to catch your breath. your legs did not feel normal.
âdamnâŚâ you muttered, barely able to walk straight as you grabbed a towel and slipped out the room.
the water in the shower hit different. you stood there for a minute, letting it run over your body, steam curling around your face while you leaned a hand against the tile. your whole body was hummingâraw, open, still floating a little from the night before. flashes kept replaying in your head. his hands on your throat. the way he moaned your name against your ear. how many times you came. how he kept going even after you said you couldnât take it.
you touched between your legs under the water and winced.
he really meant that shit when he said he was gonâ ruin you.
by the time you dried off and wrapped up in a big t-shirt, your legs were moving better. you still had a little limp, but nothing dramatic. the hallway felt quieter than usual. you figured sibella and troy hadnât come back yet. probably stayed at his place.
you walked out into the kitchen, yawning, about to fix some eggs or something light, when you saw her.
bella.
sitting on the couch in her work clothes, sipping a mug of coffee and staring right at you.
your stomach dropped.
ââŚyou back already?â
she didnât even blink. didnât even answer.
just smirked.
ââŚyou got your lil virgin ass fucked, huh?â
you blinked, froze by the fridge.
âwhatâ?â
âdonât even try it,â she said, standing up slow, walking over to lean against the counter across from you. âwe came back early. me and troy. around two. figured weâd crash here instead. we wasnât even gonâ bother youâuntil we heard you screaminâ.â
your face heated instantly.
âbellaââ
ânah,â she cut you off, wide-eyed and laughing, ânah, girl. you was in there hollerinâ like somebody took the damn soul out your body. likeâgoddamn. i was impressed! my lil sis got some lungs on her!â
you groaned, turning around to hide your face behind the fridge door. âplease shut the fuck up.â
âyou shut the fuck up,â she cackled, sipping her coffee louder. âyou had my man like, âayo, is that stack in there?â i said, âwho else would it be?â you know he ainât never quiet. i shoulda known from the second he started cominâ over too often. he was locked in on you. and you was playinâ all innocent.â
you mumbled under your breath, grabbing eggs from the fridge.
âgirl, spill the damn tea,â she leaned closer. âwas it good? how big was it? that man fine as hell. look like he dickinâ every bitch down, and now he got you stuck.â
you refused to give her full details. your body still felt too open, too exposed from what happened just hours ago. like your skin still remembered his hands. like it wasnât meant to be talked about yet.
so you gave her one thing.
you looked up at her, dead in the face.
then held your hands apart, slow.
a little bigger.
then a little bigger.
then wider.
her mouth dropped.
ââŚbitch.â
you smirked. âexactly.â
bella screamed into the kitchen towel, spinning in a circle like she just heard the juiciest gossip in her life.
âi knew it! oh my god. no wonder you limp-walkinâ. ohhhh, he really broke you in!â
âbella, please go to work.â
âno, bitch, you need to call out. i know you not sittinâ in no office chair today.â
you shook your head, laughing quietly, cheeks hot, chest fluttering at the memory. she eventually left, still shaking her head and giggling like sheâd just found out her favorite show got renewed. and as soon as the door clicked behind her, you walked back to your room.
he was awake.
half-sitting up on your bed now, chest bare, sheets low on his waist. eyes still a little heavy but locked on you the second you walked in.
âwhere you go?â he mumbled, voice thick and scratchy.
âshower.â
he yawned, then grinned slowly as his eyes trailed down your body again.
âhow you feel?â
you climbed back into the bed, under the covers. still warm from where heâd been laying.
ââŚsore.â
he smirked, proud. âgood.â
you gave him a look, rolling your eyes.
âwhat?â
âyou proud of yourself or something?â
he pulled you in, kissed your neck slow.
âyeah,â he muttered. âyou still here, ainât you?â
you didnât say anything. just buried your face in his chest and let your limbs tangle into his. his fingers found your thigh again. light, lazy touches.
smut w/ no plot below. bare with me i havenât written anything like this in so longggg, i hope u like it anon! (not proofread)
âstop that âfore i give you somethinâ to cry âbout.â Stack scolded you like you were a spoiled child when he heard your sniffling, pulling his mouth from your pussy, brown lips glistening with your wetness and his warm heavy breath hitting your heat in a way that made you shudder. your wiped your glossy eyes with the back of your hand, nodding slightly though you could hardly stop your whimpering and quivering of your bottom lip.
you werenât even completely undressed, he made no effort to take off your panties before eating and you were still in your (his) shirt. he was so fed up with you that he didnât care. it didnât change a thing anyway, you had already came five times over, struggling to keep your legs spread now in your soaked panties.
âtried to tell youââ he said in between messy but gentle kisses with the sensitive flesh on your thigh, being just as attentive to it as he was with your clit a minute ago, kneading the skin on your tummy underneath the shirt with his free hand while the other ran up and down your thigh. âyou donât know every damn thing, baby.â
you tried to tell him you were sorry but you were helpless. it all only came out in incoherent strings of moans mixed in with pleas of his name which you just couldnât seem to stop saying. âdonât know whatâs good for yaâself sometimes.â heâd sink his teeth into the skin then kiss it better after, murmuring faux apologies to you.
ânoo.â was the only thing you could cry other than his name that even made a lick of sense. it hardly resembled a real word as it fell from your open mouth though, it was only raw and soft noise. ânoo?â he mocked, sitting up from his position. he still wasnât done yet though, he still hadnât coaxed the obedience out of you that he wanted for once.
âthink i done heard enough of that from you lately.â he drawled. you knew he was right, youâd been pushing his buttons all week ( all month, really ), day in and day out. Stack let you get away with a lot of things, but he had begun to get tired of your constant need to oppose him and defy his choices no matter what. he had finally decided it was time to punish you, and you couldnât say that you didnât deserve it.
punishment with Stack wasnât like the other times he fucked you. he fucked you rough and dumb on the regular, so none of that was of any use when trying to punish you. no, when you were in trouble, he was slow. painfully so. just as he was as he adjusted himself upright onto the headrest, watching you roll over on your stomach to face him. âcâmere.â he cooed, patting his lap.
he helped you to straddle his lap with your chest facing his while swatting away your hands whenever they reached down and mindlessly clawed and tugged at the buckle of his belt. his arms snaked around your waist, he wrapped you up in a tight embrace. naturally, your arms found their way to his neck, and you let them hang there loosely around his shoulders with your head falling into the crook of his neck.
he rocked you both back and forth as if lulling you to sleep. just as soon as you let your eyes flutter shut, his arm fell from around your body and his hands began to roam underneath your shirt. up and back down again he took them, leaving chill bumps in their wake. your breathing hitched at it, the touch was so gentle that his feeling of his fingers on a new area of your skin made you jump a bit every time.
he pulled your shirt up then, but not to take it off. Stack put his head underneath it then let the fabric fall back over him. a sweet moan came out of you when you felt him flattened his tongue and run it over your hardened nipple, pinching the other between his index finger and his thumb. âStack..â you beg and he shushes you. âi know.â he hummed noncommittally, but when the incessant whining wouldnât end, he gave in to you like he always did.
âgo ahead.â he told you, lifting his head out of your shirt. you knew what it meant and immediately got to clumsily taking of off belt, lifting yourself up from him slightly whilst he pulled his pants and boxers down to his knees. you hovered there for a moment as he adjusted, pulling your panties to the side as he aligned himself with your soaking slit. you wanted to help, reaching back and wrapping your fingers around his dick, pumping it once before placing his fat tip between your swollen lips.
then, without warning, Stack thrusted up into you with a strained groan. you sat there for a moment and just felt how full of him you were, you were unsure you could even bring yourself to move. ââs in my stomachhh.â you moaned in the highest, most pathetic pitch of your voice, starting to roll your hips as they stuttered with every inch he sunk deeper into you.
you set the pace but he controlled it. he stopped you from getting any faster than he wanted you to by keeping a firm grip on your hips. your chest rose and fell as your head rested on his shoulder. âgood girlâŚâ heâd croon into your ear sweetly at times, along with other sweet nothings. he freed a hand from your hip and rubbed soothing circles in the small of your back, listening to you mewl for him. âbeinâ calm for once.â
he knew the calm wouldnât last for long, but he was fine fucking you nice and slow whenever you needed to be set straight again.

Just thinking about sitting in Smokes lap while he smokes.
cw: 18+ mdni, mild smut, modern au, age gap, pet names, daddy used once.
The music is always playing from the speakers around his house, weather is be blues or jazz, neo soul or 70s r&b. He sits on the back porch with your perched sideways in his lap so he can see your brown skin in the glow. The older manâs mocha brown eyes trailing all over you while he plays with your braids that he loves to pull on so much.
Heâs waiting. For what exactly?
For you to finish rolling his cigarette.
Even though you can go and buy them from the store, something about his soul is genuinely old yet authentic. Heâs not trying. Heâd rather you or Stack do it for him (and Stack would rather you do it because hes told Smoke time and time again, theyre grown now and he should be able to do it himself). But he canât, heâs not good at it, something about having being still and calm just for the few moments spikes his anxiety for some reason. A difference from his cool demeanor, that irrationality thatâs always ready to pop out shows in that simple instant.
So he lets you roll for him, be it a cigarette or a blunt, he watches you to it like itâs second nature. Put the finished product to his plump lips and spark it to life.
âGood job mama, thanks.â Heâll exhale the tobacco, patting your thigh in appreciation.
Sometimes heâll watch you smoke, the clouds forming between your two tone lips. Loves to shotgun whatever heâs smoking with you, brushing your lips ever to lightly and letting you blow the smoke into him.
Fucking adores how gorgeous you look. Your curls out of your face and enjoying the moment. Doesnât laugh when you cough because youâre not used to it, simple corrections on how to smoke better, let it flow through you. Elijah just admires you even more, letâs you ramble on before kissing your shoulder blade. Gripping your waist and pulling you closer to cuddle into him.
And you adore how handsome he looks smoking, clearing his stress filled mind, the easy feeling taking over his body. Itâs gentle, quiet as green eyes by Erykah Badu plays, the sunset basking on your skin.
And just maybe, he fucks you till your dumb right there, smoke blowing past you as Elijah watches from the side of his eyes your face contort in pleasure, your back to his chiseled abs, riding him in reversal. Your hands claw at his knees, hiccups and moans fill the air his eyes dance at the ripple of your ass against him with every bounce you make on his dick.
âFuck- thatâs it baby, fuck your Daddy so nice.â
a/n: something about Smoke is so sensual yet so soft to me, so dad bf, loving and caring, gruff yet understanding. idk.

âAnd when we get back to this house,â he shouted, voice sharp enough to cut through bone, âdonât ask me to do a damn thing.â
Your hand flew up in a sharp dismissive wave as you twisted away from him in the passenger seat, the car jerking slightly as Smokeâs grip tightened around the wheel. âThatâs fine! I donât need you for a fucking thing ANYWAYS!â
The words sliced through the thick tension that had been hanging over the two of you like a thundercloud for the past two damn days. A silent war with no winners and a whole lot of heat. It all started because the barista down at Morning Bloom Coffee smiled a little too long when handing you your oat milk vanilla latte. The barista gave you a simple smile trying to be polite. Maybe he did it a second too long. Maybe not. But either way, Smoke saw red like he always did when it came to you and anyone who wasnât him.
Without hesitation, heâd socked the man in the mouth so damn fast your drink hit the floor before you could blink. And now two full days later you both were still in a petty, fiery, jealous bender.
Day one of your argument you stayed strong and moved through the house like a queen in a castle that had been overrun by a jealous beast.
Your skincare routine? Luxurious.
Your work calls? On point.
Your outfit? A soft two-piece lounge set that hugged every curve like it missed you.
When dinner came, you threw yourself into it like you were being judged on Top Chef. You marinated lamb chops for hours. Cooked up homemade honey butter biscuits with a dash of cayenne in the butter⌠just the way⌠he⌠liked it. But you made it very clear: that plate was yours and yours alone.
As you cooked, Smoke lingered around the kitchen and his massive frame leaned against the fridge while watching you plate your meal like a hawk. His nostrils flared as his eyes burned holes into your skin. He couldnât believe his woman wasnât offering him a plate of food, but he also wasnât a man who would beg.
While completely ignoring his existence, you sat at the dining table with your legs crossed, lips glistening with lamb jus and smirking between each bite like you were daring him to say something. He didnât. But oh, the look he gave you⌠Girl run
When Saturday rolled in the silence started to feel dangerous. This was the one day out of the week when Smoke would usually hit the gym with Stack, run errands he couldnât get to during the week and any other âman shitâ that you didnât care to know about. But not today. Today, that man made it a point to stay his ass at home. All. Damn. Day. And worse? He did it wearing only grey sweatpants and no shirt.
Every inch of Smoke was carved out of marble by God. Smooth brown skin stretched over thick muscle and broad shoulders. His gold chains swung low, catching the light every time he reached for something. And those damn sweatpants? They hung low. Way too damn low while leaving nothing to the imagination.
You were sitting on the couch, pretending to scroll through your phone, but your eyes kept sliding up catching every stretch, every shift, and every flex Smoke would make.
When he purposefully reached his arm up to stretch, thatâs when he caught you. âFuck you staring at?â His voice was deep and sharp. His lips curled into a smirk even as his eyes narrowed, knowing exactly what you were doing.
Your mouth went dry but you sucked your teeth and rolled your eyes before firing back just as sharp. âAinât nobody looking at you, nigga.â You turned your head fast, placed a nearby throw blanket onto your lap, and squeezed your thighs shut like you werenât damn near vibrating with need.
Smoke let out a scoff and dropped onto the armchair across from you, legs spread wide, one hand rubbing the scruff along his jaw, the other dragging down his thigh like he didnât know what that did to you. But he knew. Of course he knew. Because heâs a SLUT. Smoke was a man born with sin in his bloodstream and you were his favorite outlet.
âYou real bold when your pussy hungry,â he goaded without looking at you, just low enough to make your stomach flip. âReal fuckinâ bold.â
You didnât respond. Your throat tightened and your fingers curled into the blanket as heat spread between your thighs like wildfire. You hated how your body betrayed you. How your nipples perked beneath your tank top just from hearing his voice like that. How your lower belly tightened at the memory of his mouth, his hands, hisâ Stop. You werenât going to fold. Not this time. No. This time you had a point to prove⌠So you stayed quiet.
Smoke leaned forward then, his forearms braced on his knees, honey brown eyes finally locking with yours. He was so beautiful it made your chest hurt. That hard jaw. That slow burn in his stare. The way his gold tooth caught the light when he smirked.
âYou gonâ act like you donât hear me? I saidâŚâ he repeated, his voice dropping lower, rougher, â⌠you real bold when your pussy hungry.â
You tossed the blanket off your lap like a challenge and stood up, storming past him toward the kitchen. But before you could make it, his hand snatched your wrist. âDonât touch me,â you snapped.
âI ainât touchinâ you,â he said coolly, pulling you gently, slow and patient, until you were standing right between his legs. âIâm remindinâ you. That mouth? That attitude? That little fake-ass silent treatment you think you givinâ? That shit donât work on me, pretty girl.â
He looked up at you like you were the last good thing in a ruined world. And then his eyes dropped trailing slowly down your body, soaking in every soft curve, every part of you he knew like scripture. âGo on. Keep walkinâ away,â he muttered, voice like hardened steel. âBut I know damn well you miss how it feel when I grab the back of that neck and tell you to hush while Iââ
âDonât.â You said it too fast. Too breathless.
He grinned. That arrogant grin that made your knees weak and your pride falter. âYou really mad?â he asked quietly, now wrapping a hand around your thigh and easing you a fraction closer. âOr you just donât wanna admit that I had a reason to knock that pretty boy barista out his damn shoes?â
You sarcastically laughed at Smokeâs audacity. âThat man smiled. Thatâs it. You almost went to jail over a smile.â
âDonât care.â He leaned forward, nose brushing against your lower belly, breath warm through the cotton of your tank. âAnyone smile at you like that again, Iâll put him in the dirt.â
You stared down at him, your fingers twitching by your sides. âYouâre a damn lunatic.â
âYup.â His eyes lifted, black and unrepentant. âYour lunatic.â
You wanted to slap him. You wanted to kiss him. You wanted to scream and bite and ride and cry and maybe all at once. But instead, you turned your head, stared at the wall, and whispered, âDonât talk to me.â
Smoke scoffed and his grip tightened before he kissed the inside of your thigh, right on that special spot that always makes you forget how to think straight. The kiss was gentle⌠dangerous⌠knowing âAight, baby,â his voice muffled against your skin. âI wonât say a word.â But the fire in those orbs told a different story.
When you finally pulled away, storming back into the kitchen to cool down, you could feel his stare trailing behind you like a shadow with claws. You stood next to the kitchen island hoping for a moment of peace but instead your heart rattled like a stray bullet in your chest. The room felt too hot, too still⌠way too still, like the moment right before a thunderstorm when all the air gets sucked out of the sky and the ground doesnât know whether to shake or stay still.
You ran your hands through your hair and let out a frustrated sigh. After 24 hours of being strong, you couldnât let yourself fold from a little thigh kiss. You werenât even hungry, but your hands moved on autopilot, opening the fridge, grabbing things, pretending like your body wasnât still humming from the feel of his mouth on your thigh.
Smoke wasnât slick and you werenât safe. Not from him and not from the heat building up under your skin like it was trying to boil you alive. Behind you, the sound of the armchair creaking and his footsteps thumping across the hardwood made you hold your breath. You didnât bother turning, you already knew the look on his face was smug and cocky like he was just biding time until your pride finally tapped out.
âYou heavy-footed on purpose?â you muttered without looking at him. âOr you tryna make sure I know you cominâ so I donât swing a skillet at your head?â
Smoke didnât say a word but you heard the slow grind of his teeth and a slight click when his tongue hit the back of them. Then, the fridge door beside you opened. His arm brushed yours with intent and his skin was as hot as a stovetop. He reached in and grabbed a bottle of water, twisted the cap off, and took a long, long drink like he had been parched since war-time.
You still didnât give him the satisfaction of looking at him. Instead you stopped fiddling with the random assortment of ingredients and crossed your arms under your chest so tightly your hands started going numb. But none of that mattered. Smoke was standing so close now with his presence wrapping around you like a weighted blanket made of lustful desire, silently daring you to keep dismissing him.
âYou really donât want me talkinâ to you?â he asked finally with his tone full of challenge. âEven though your thighs damn near gave up and invited me in just now?â
You turned your head and squinted your eyes at him. âYou punched an innocent man for smiling at me!â
âAnd I said a barista donât need to be starinâ at whatâs mine like he got a fuckinâ chance!â
âYou donât own me, Elijah,â you mumbled.
That was the first time youâd said his real name in days. And you had the nerve to use it while telling him that he doesnât own you.
Smokeâs jaw ticked. His nostrils flared. And then he laughed like he couldnât believe he was having this conversation with you right now. âI donât own you?â he repeated, stepping in now, cornering you against the counter. âYou right⌠You right, you grown, huh? Real grown. Is that why you been sittinâ in this house clenching your lil thighs every time I so much as stretch?â
âBack up,â you whispered. It didnât sound as strong as you wanted it to. Not when your back hit the cold of the cabinet and your front was all warm-blooded temptation and hard muscle.
Smoke leaned in like a snake slithering across grass before striking its prey. His lips brushed your ear, and his voice dropped to a place that made your belly twist. âTell me to back up one more time, baby,â he taunted, âand mean it.â
You swallowed thickly, chest rising fast beneath your thin top.
His hand settled on the counter beside your hip, the other drifting ever so gently down the side of your arm, brushing like a warning. âSay it,â he taunted again. âOr let me remind you why you donât ever sleep right unless Iâm wrapped around you.â
Now it was your turn to clench your jaw but your breath betrayed you. Your thighs pressed together again, heat rushing back like a tidal wave. âWhy you always gotta be like this?â you breathed, voice barely holding on.
He chuckled darkly. âBecause I know whatâs mine.â His hand slid beneath your shirt, fingers brushing the dip of your waist. âAnd I know when she lyinâ⌠putting on a front.â He kissed your neck just once to test the waters. It was soft but full of possession.
And when you didnât stop him, when you didnât shove him away, he nipped your collarbone and muttered, âYou gonâ keep fightinâ me or you gonâ let Daddy fix this?â
âIâm still mad at you,â you said, even as your fingers gripped his sweatpants.
âStay mad then,â he growled, lifting you up onto the counter like you weighed nothing. âBut donât pretend you donât need me.â
It took all your might to not whimper when his hand slid between your thighs, the heat of his palm making your eyes roll back. âI told⌠you not⌠to talk to me,â you gasped.
Smoke smirked against your throat. âThen put that pretty lil pussy in my face and shut me up.â
Your eyes squinted into a glare and heat rushed up your neck as your lips parted in disbelief. Your body wanted him. Badly. But your mind⌠that damn stubborn, bratty, prideful-ass mind was not about to let him win this round so easily.
And so⌠you did what any unhinged woman dating Elijah Moore would do and shoved a hand into his perfect face⌠and mushed him. What color roses do you want at your funeral? You pushed his cocky expression away like you were slapping a mosquito. The suddenness made him take a step back, just long enough for you to hop down from the counter in one quick motion and scurry away like a rabbit setting itself free from a snare.
âI said donât talk to me, nigga!â you yelled, snatching your composure back like a silk robe off the floor.
You stormed out the kitchen, and tossed a middle finger over your shoulder. âAnd put some damn clothes on! Walkinâ âround this house like I could buy you for the night with two dollars and a half-stick of gum!â
Smoke stood still like a statue and for a second he didn't know if he was dreaming or if his woman was truly out of her damn mind. Then that low, dangerous laugh rolled from his chest like thunder over wet concrete. It was a sound that did nothing but pour gasoline on the flames already licking between your thighs. He loved when you got like this, wild-eyed, stubborn-lipped, and sass pouring from your throat like it was made of honey and broken glass.
He knew youâd fold. And when you did⌠heâd be the one to catch you.
The rest of the day you avoided Smoke like the floor was lava and he was the devil waiting at the bottom. You locked yourself in your shared bedroom and buried yourself in the sheets like they could protect you from the walking sin on the other side of the door. You distracted yourself for hours. Scrolled through your phone. Scrolled again. Played lo-fi beats. Switched to gospel. Thought about cooking. Decided not to because that would involve you leaving your sanctuary. Thought about apologizing. Decided not to because it would be a cold day in hell before you apologize to him. Thought about touching yourself⌠Absolutely did not⌠yet.
Eventually, your body gave in to exhaustion. The softness of the pillows, the hum of the AC in the background and the scent of Smoke lingering on the sheets rocked you into a tense, twitchy sleep. And then your mind betrayed you.
Of course your unconscious mind decided to betray you as you went off into dreamland. Dream-Smoke had his mouth everywhere on your body. On your neck. Down your chest. Between your thighs. This version of Smoke was utterly ruthless. He said your name like it was a threat and a prayer. His hands gripped your legs like he was holding onto the only thing that made sense in this godforsaken world.
âOpen up, baby. Yeah, just like thatâŚâ
Your body arched in your sleep, your mouth parted, a soft moan fluttering against the dark. And right when you were about to reach that shimmering edge, Dream-Smoke pulled back and taunted in your ear, âShouldnâtâve told me not to talk, huh?â
You gasped yourself awake and the bedroom was cloaked in darkness, only a soft sliver of moonlight slipped between the curtains. Your chest heaved and your pajama shorts were damn near soaked through. The cotton stuck to your core like it had a vendetta. A frown pulled at your lips and a tear slid down your cheek before you could stop it.
You turned your head to look at the blinking alarm clock through wet eyes and frowned again. It was currently 2:03 AM and you couldnât believe you somehow slept the entire the day away.
Peaking over your shoulder you let out a disgruntled sigh. Smoke was laid out like he didnât have a care in the world. One arm slung behind his head, chest rising and falling with calm, heavy breaths. That same damn pair of grey sweatpants still clung to his hips. He looked peaceful. Angelic even. You wanted to punch him and make him suffer for what Dream-Smoke started but didnât finish. But since you already got away with mushing him in the face you didnât want to test your luck and simply whined.
A shaky, bratty, needy whimper left your throat as you wiped your still falling tears and leaned over, gently nudging Smoke's shoulder. He grunted and cracked one eye open. âWhat, baby?â His voice was sleep-worn and you tried not to focus on what hearing it was doing to your already wounded up body.
You pouted in the dark, nose wrinkled, lips trembling. âThis is ALL your fault.â
Raising your voice early in the morning got Smokeâs full attention and he blinked slowly, as the remnants of sleep cleared from his face like a curtain lifting. His eyes found you in the moonlit darkness. You looked so adorable to him, pouty-lipped, flushed cheeks, and thighs pressed tightly together under the covers.
âThe fuck you yellinâ at me for and cryinâ this early in the morning?â he asked, now fully awake, his tone clipped with concern and confusion.
You sniffled. âI⌠I need⌠I want⌠I want⌠to touch myself,â you admitted, lip quivering dramatically. âAnd since Iâm still mad at you⌠I need you to leave the bed.â
Smoke blinked once at you and then again into the darkness like he was on an episode of The Office. He didnât expect to be so entertained by your antics today and he started to chuckle to himself. This wasnât a typical âI love how bratty my girl is actingâ type of laugh. No, this was a dark, âthis girl done lost her fuckinâ mindâ laugh.
âYou woke me up,â he said slowly, to make sure he got all the details correct, âto tell me that youâre horny⌠and I need to leave our bed⌠so you can touch what belongs to me?â
Your throat tightened. When Smoke repeated everything out loud it did sound kind of insane but that was besides the point. âYou heard me,â you said, lifting your chin and pointing it to the door. âNow go.â
Smoke let out a final chuckle and didnât move. He leaned back on one elbow, eyes gleaming in the dark like he could see the mess youâd become under those covers. âYou really out here throwinâ tantrums at two in the morning âcause you canât handle how badly you want me to fuck that attitude out of you?â he teased.
âI am handling it,â you bit back. âIâm asking you to leave. Like a grown woman.â
His tongue slid along the inside of his cheek. Then he reached down, adjusted himself in those sweats just slightly, and let out a hum that made your thighs twitch. âYou sure?â he asked gently, like he was talking to a skittish wild animal about to bolt. âYou sure you want me to leave, baby?â
âYes,â you whispered, even as your legs squirmed beneath the blanket. âI donât need you. I can do it myself.â
âMhm⌠is that right...â
Smoke sat up slowly before swinging his legs off the side of the bed. He stood to his full height and then without saying another word he discarded his sweatpants, letting the moonlight shine on his intimidating half-hard manhood. You sat in complete shock, unsure what to say or what to do. Your mouth stayed agape and you couldâve sworn you didnât breathe for 2 minutes, Your whole body burned with need and you hated this feeling.
And he spoke again in a cruel velvet-slick tone, âGo on then.â He climbed back in bed and laid on his back with his hands behind his head like he didnât just take his pants off. âShow me how you donât need me.â
The silence that followed was so thick it felt like smoke itself. It crackled with the weight of what you wanted to do and what your pride wouldnât allow. Your fingers trembled under the blanket. You hated him, yet you wanted him. And you hated how badly you wanted him. All of this only made the leaking faucet between your thighs turn into a full blown fire hose.
He bit his bottom lip before antagonizing you. âMight help if you stop cryinâ, baby. You canât see your lil fingers down there with all them tears fogginâ up your eyesight.â
Your fists balled with annoyance but your thighs began to slightly part. Smoke didnât move or touch you. He didnât even acknowledge the way he could smell your sweet aroma in the room. He just gave you a look that said, âYou can play this game all night, pretty girl⌠Iâll be here when you break.â
And you were so, so close to shattering. You stared at him like heâd summoned a demon into the room and dared you to dance with it.
Smoke stretched his long body across the bed like he was on display. Like he wasnât a man who just dropped his pants in the middle of a silent standoff and dared you to stay proud. With his arms folded beneath his head, the swell of his chest rose and fell as if he werenât aware of the war going on inside your body. The tension. The hunger. The absolute need that clawed at your insides like a caged animal. His dick sat heavy between his thighs, thick and idle, like it had time to wait. Like it knew it would be fed eventually.
âYou got five seconds before I close my eyes and go back to sleep,â he grumbled without looking at you. âSo go ahead. Get to rubbinâ. Let me hear how good you make yourself feel without my help.â
Your lip trembled. You werenât crying anymore, not from frustration anyway. But your thighs were sticky, your panties were soaked through, and every nerve ending in your body was throbbing like youâd been edgewalking through purgatory. Still⌠you werenât gonna give him the satisfaction of begging. So you huffed in a loud and obnoxious manner before wiping your cheeks like a toddler who just got scolded. You then yanked the covers off your body and laid flat on your back beside him, arms stiff at your sides.
Smoke turned his head slightly, one brow arched. âThought you said you didnât need me,â he said, tone sharp and mocking.
âI donât,â you snapped. âI just need space.â
He smirked. âYou sound stupid.â
You glared at the ceiling. âYou look stupid.â
Another beat of silence. Then your hand slowly dragged beneath the waistband of your pajama shorts, and your breath hitched. You werenât even doing anything yet, and your whole body tensed like you were about to commit a crime.
Smoke didnât move but he watched from the corner of his eye. You could feel his eyes burning into the side of your face, heavy and loaded. Like if he blinked, he might miss the exact moment you broke. Your fingers brushed against your panties and found them soaked, the cotton clinging to your folds like it was trying to apologize for being in the way. You let out a shaky breath and your fingers twitched as you slid them beneath the fabric and gently grazed your clit.
The behemoth of a man next to you exhaled through his nose but he didnât say a word as he continued to observe. You rubbed slow circles, small and hesitant, still stubborn as hell and still trying to prove a point you were seconds from losing as a soft and breathy moan slipped out.
Smoke turned his head toward you fully now, his gaze dark and unreadable. âYou always make yourself sound so pretty,â he said, voice lower now, rough and molten. âBut it donât hit the same, do it?â
You didnât answer him but your hips rolled in response to his question. Your hand moved faster. Your breath stuttered. Your back arched. Stillânot a word. You didnât plead or cry for help. To prove your point you used your own hand and held back the silent scream in your throat. Then you finally felt it⌠that build. It climbed your spine and tingled through your limbs, coiling low and tight in your belly like lightning trapped behind your navel. But just as your toes curled and your moans grew louder⌠Smokeâs hand slammed down on your wrist and you yelped.
He was above you now, face inches from yours, his chest heaving, lips parted. âThatâs enough,â he growled. âThis little show? Over.â
âWhaâ? I didnât evenââ you started, but he cut you.
âYou really gonâ make yourself cum when Iâm layinâ right here?â he snapped, pressing your wrist into the mattress with one hand while the other dragged your shorts down in one brutal yank. âTryna act like you in control of somethinâ when this pussy donât even belong to you no more?â
You whimpered as his mouth crashed into yours, all heat and dominance, devouring your lips like he was punishing you for breathing without permission. His tongue pushed into your mouth while his hips settled between your thighs, and you could feel all of him, heavy and hot, grinding against your bare heat.
âYou shouldâve just asked,â he murmured against your mouth, voice trembling with restraint.
You blinked up at him, dazed and breathless. âAsked⌠what?â
âIf I was done beinâ mad,â he answered, dragging his tip along your soaked entrance, teasing but never pushing in. âCause I wasnât. Not yet.â And with that he slid in excruciatingly slow. So slow you nearly blacked out.
âNow,â he growled, gripping your throat just enough to make your heart flutter, âyou donât talk to me.â
Your breath caught in your throat as he filled you inch by inch, until all nine inches of his rock hard flesh stretched you out causing your back arch off the bed. Once he was completely sheathed inside of your warm gummy walls Smoke didnât move. Not yet. He held himself still with his hand still resting on your throatânot choking, just a firm reminder of who was in control. Of whose name was stitched into the folds of your body like ownership. Like scripture.
Your lashes fluttered as a soft, broken whimper escaped your lips.
âYeah,â he hummed, watching your face intently. âThatâs what I thought.â
The weight of him, the heat, the way his body caged yours like a storm rolling over weak land, every bit of it made your spine tremble. He didnât have to say it, didnât need to ask⌠he already knew. This wasnât about sex anymore. This was about submission. About surrender. About you thinking you could ignore him, silence him, deny him, and still sleep soundly next to him every night.
His hips rolled meticulously and grinded so deep you swore you saw stars behind your eyes. His pace was punishing in its patience. Purposeful and steady. Like he wanted you to feel the agony he felt every second you ignored him. Every breath you wasted pretending you didnât need him.
âYou really thought you was gonâ touch yourself in this bed?â he grunted, lips ghosting over your jaw as he rocked into you again. âWhile I laid next to you? Like I ainât the one that got this pussy cryinâ in the first place?â
You couldnât even respond. Your mouth opened but no sound came out, just a sharp inhale, a choked moan, and the clenching of your legs around his hips.
He groaned low like he felt your apology in the way your walls pulled him in tighter.
âThis one⌠if for every time you rolled your eyes at me,â THRUST.
âThis one⌠is for every time you walked away from me,â THRUST.
âFuck⌠and THIS one is for every time you told me not to talk to you,â SLAM.
You whimpered beneath him, nails digging into his arms as your pride cracked wide open and your body begged to be ruined. You couldnât handle this torturous unhurried fuck session. You needed your walls plowed to smithereens and you needed it to happen right now. âI hate you,â you gasped.
âShut up. You love me,â he corrected with a smirk, snapping his hips against yours harder now. âYou love me when I got you stuffed full and dumb off my name.â
Your moans turned shameless⌠so soft, high, and desperate. Each slow thrust had you melting further, your bratty resolve unraveling like a ribbon. And Smoke? He watched the transformation like it was art. âThere she goâŚâ he whispered. âThereâs my girl. Ainât no talkinâ now, huh? Just that lil mouth open like you got somethinâ to say⌠but still donât know how to say sorry.â
You finally met his gaze, eyes wide and glassy with need. âIâmââ you tried.
He pressed his fingers against your lips. âNope.â Another thrust. Brutal. Deep. You cried out. âDonât say shit else to me... Just take it.â
He dipped his head, kissed the corner of your mouth with an intimacy that contrasted the way he was owning you from the inside out. You wrapped your legs tighter around him, hips rising to meet him while chasing the edge of pleasure like youâd die if you didnât reach it soon.
âI got you,â he whispered, his breath warm and ragged against your ear. âGo on, baby. Let go. Let me take it.â
Your orgasm crept up your spine like a threat, your whole body tightening under him. âSmokeââ you breathed, one hand tangling in the bedsheets beneath you, the other clutching his shoulder like a lifeline.
âI know, I know. Shhh, baby,â he cooed. âCome on. I got you.â And when you finally shatteredâmouth open, legs shaking, eyes rollingâhe never let up. He kept fucking you through it, hips grinding, mouth pressing kisses to your throat and chest, whispering your name like prayer and punishment all at once.
You went limp beneath him and he pulled back just enough to look you in the face, brushing a lone tear from your cheek. âYou still mad?â
You blinked up at him, dazed and ruined. He smirked again. That same crooked, devilish thing that started it all. âYeah⌠you look like you still got a fuckinâ attitude.â
Your chest rose and fell in shallow waves with your skin covered in sweat as you lay there boneless and ruined beneath him.
Smoke hovered above you like a storm cloud that refused to pass. His body didnât press down; he just hovered, solid and still, like a hunter watching his prey breathe after the first strike. His arms caged you on either side, head tilted slightly as his gold chain swung gently from his neck and tapped your collarbone. Your legs still trembled from the aftershock and your thighs involuntarily locked around his waist, trying to pull him closer.
But Smoke didnât move, he was so deep inside of you that you could barely think. And instead of chasing his own pleasure like any other man might, he just stared and studied you like you were the most precious thing heâs ever laid eyes on. You felt the subtle twitch of him inside you, ready, but not rushing. Not desperate. Because Smoke wasnât a man ruled by impulse. He was ruled by control. And he wielded it like a blade.
âYou done squeezing my dick?â he asked quietly, voice low and relaxed, like he had nowhere else to be but right here. âOr you need a minute to remember where you at?â
You blinked slowly, lips still tingling from where he kissed you, still too blissed out to string a proper sentence together. But he waitedâpatient, immovableâas your brows knit together, that ache you just got rid of was already building again and you finally realized⌠he wasnât finished. He still hadnât moved. And now, you were too aware of it. Too aware of the way he filled you like heâd been carved just for you. Too aware of the steady rise and fall of his chest. Of how warm and thick and ready he still felt inside you.
âSmoke,â you whined, voice hoarse and fragile.
He cocked a brow, his gold tooth glinting in the dark. âYeah, baby?â
Your thighs flexed around him again, a needy little roll of your hips that made you whimper even as you tried to hold your pride in place. His hand slid slowly up the side of your throat, fingers curling around the hinge of your jaw to tilt your face up toward his.
âYou feel that?â he murmured.
You nodded weakly, lips parting.
âI been sittinâ still. Holdinâ back,â he whispered, each word slipping into your mouth like honey and heat. âYou been cryinâ, whininâ, begginâ me to leave. But I ainât goinâ nowhere, baby.â
He leaned down, forehead nearly touching yours. âI stay when you bratty. Stay when you act like you donât want me. Stay when you try to punish me with silence.â
A soft, broken sound spilled from your lips.
âI stay⌠âcause you mine.â Then finally⌠he moved again. Just a slow roll of his hips. Barely there. Just enough to make you feel the stretch again. Just enough to remind your body that your first orgasm was nothing but the beginning. Your nails found his back again, dragging lightly over the skin of his shoulders as your breath caught.
âYou thought I was gonâ break first,â he said, dragging himself out slowly before sinking back into you. âDidnât you?â
You moaned, head tipping back, throat arching beneath his palm.
âYou thought that lil attitude was enough to make me lose my cool.â Another thrust. Deep and slow. The kind that made your vision blur.
âBut you forgot who you dealinâ with,â he grunted as his lips brushed your ear. âI can fuck this perfect pussy slow like this for hours and still not cum.â
You whimpered again, your hips twitching, your body betraying you as your heat reignited. He kissed the curve of your cheek, your jaw, your ear.
âYou donât get quick fucks when you act like you donât need me.â His hand slid between your bodies, fingers slipping down until they found that tender, swollen bundle of nerves. âYou get discipline.âAnd as his fingers began to move in calculated devastating circles, his hips continued their cruel rhythm and your body began to shake again.
You could barely breathe. Every inch of your body was coated in sweat, your skin fever-hot, while your senses flooded with overstimulation. Smoke hadnât let up and he hadnât sped up either. That was the worst part⌠or maybe the best. He moved with purpose and mastery. Every grind of his hips was deep, as he poured himself into you like he was trying to combine your souls into one. And his fingers⌠God. The pads of them circled your clit with such devastating precision, you swore you were unraveling on a molecular level. Like you were coming apart from the inside out.
You gripped at his shoulders, his back, his biceps, wherever you could reach⌠but you couldnât stop it. Couldnât change the pace. Couldnât make him move faster no matter how much your legs shook or your voice cracked. âP-please,â you breathed, not even sure what you were asking for. Release? Mercy? More?
Smoke leaned down, brushing his lips against your cheek with a smug grin carved into his face. âOh⌠You begginâ now?â he asked. âWasnât too long ago you was flippinâ me off and actinâ like I was walkinâ around here like a cheap thrill.â
His voice vibrated against your neck, dragging goosebumps down your spine. âYou wanna cum again, pretty girl?â he murmured, fingers pressing down just slightly harder, swirling against your clit like he was drawing a map to your breakdown. âIs that what all them little tears are for?â
You whined, nodding frantically, your thighs beginning to quake again. Smoke didnât speed up. He didnât need to. Your body was desperate for him and would greedily take whatever was given. He knew you so well he could fuck you out of a meltdown without ever changing rhythm.
âYou donât deserve to cum yet,â he said lowly, pulling his mouth back to hover just above yours. âBut Iâm gonâ let you anyway. Just so you remember who got you moaning so loud our neighbors might file a noise complaint tomorrow.â
He moved in again with one solid and controlled stroke that made your eyes roll and your nails dig so deep into his back you swore you could feel muscle give. Your body started to quiver. âNoâno, waitââ you whimpered, because you felt it building too fast, the peak rising like a wave with nowhere to go.
âShhh,â he whispered, voice laced with hunger now, though his pace never changed. âThatâs it. Go on. Cum on my dick.â
He kissed you and swallowed your cries as your walls constricted around him and you came again, harder than before. Your body jerked beneath him as your second orgasm crashed through you like a tidal wave smashing through a dam. You sobbed into his mouth, a mix of bliss and frustration and pure, helpless surrender. Your thighs shook uncontrollably and your nails dug into his flesh like he was the only thing keeping you from drifting away.
Smoke pulled back just enough to look at your face that was flushed and tear-streaked, while your mouth hung open in silent shock as you rode the aftershocks. âI donât think that attitude is gone yetâ he rasped, still deep inside you, still hard as stone. âYou need another reminder. Donât you, baby?â
You nodded weakly unable to form words.
Smoke slid his hand up your ribcage, slow and reverent, until he cupped the side of your face. His thumb brushed your bottom lip, tugging it gently. âI ainât even started your real punishment yet.â
Your heart stuttered.
âTwo days you gave me attitude,â he murmured, kissing your chin. âTwo days you walked around this house actinâ like you forgot what my name felt like between your thighs⌠I'm nowhere near done with you yet.â
You gasped, your fingers twitched around his arms, already worn down and so full of him. You didnât know if it was seconds or minutes or lifetimes that passed with him moving inside you like thatâslow, deliberate, dominant. Your body felt swollen with sensation, soaked in the aftermath of two back-to-back orgasms that had left your breath scattered like glass shards across the mattress.
Your skin was hot to the touch, your muscles limp, your mind foggy with a heady mix of defiance and surrender. And through it all, Smoke hadnât broken his rhythm. His stamina was inhuman, like he fed off control, fed off the way your body twitched and sobbed under his. The way you needed more and hated that it had to come from him.
But then⌠Something shifted. His eyes⌠those dark, obsidian things dragged across your face. He licked his lips, slow and thoughtful. Then he pulled back again. All the way out. You cried at the loss of fullness and rose your hips involuntarily trying to chase him. Smoke grinned but it wasnât a playful or kind grin. Without a word, he grabbed your hips, flipped you over onto your stomach, and yanked your ass up until you were on your knees, chest pressed to the mattress. He spread your legs with his own and ran a hand down your back.
âYou said I looked like I could be bought for two dollars and some gum,â he growled, dragging himself against your folds, wet and swollen and already twitching from anticipation.
You swallowed, face buried in the sheets. You remembered and silently cursed to yourself.
He leaned down, mouth grazing your ear as he lined himself up behind you. âGood thing for you, I donât charge. But I do collect.â
And then he slammed into you. No warning. No patience. The thrust knocked the wind out of your lungs. âE-ELIJAHHHH! F-FUCKKK!â you cried, hands gripping the sheets like a lifeline.
Smokeâs pace was nothing like before. All that held-back heat, all that restraint? Gone. His hips snapped against you with vicious precision, his grip digging into your hips as your ass slapped against him, over and over, filling the room with the sound of skin meeting skin and your broken cries.
âThis what you wanted?â he grunted, every word punched out between thrusts. âAll that mouth, all that attitude⌠This what you needed to calm down?â
You couldnât even answer. Couldnât form a thought. Your voice was raw with whimpers and your tears stained the pillow as you arched back into him on instinct, chasing every brutal, perfect stroke.
He reached around and grabbed a fistful of your hair, pulling your head back just enough to whisper against your jaw. âYou talk big,â he hissed, thrusting deep, âbut this pussy always tell the truth.â
You sobbed out a yes. Or maybe his name. Or maybe just a noiseâbecause thatâs all you were now. A body molded to his pace. A vessel of heat and ache and want. And then⌠He slowed again. But this time, his strokes were hard and measured. That had your eyes rolling and your teeth sinking into the pillow to stop yourself from screaming his name like a confession.
âYou feel how deep I am?â he groaned, voice thick and low behind you. âYou gonâ run your mouth next time a man so much as smiles at you?â
You shook your head quickly, biting down on your bottom lip as you wavered between reality and subspace.
âUse your words,â he demanded before landing hard smacks on your ass that turned your ebony skin bright red.
âNoâno, Smo- Daddy! I wonât, I swearââ you gasped, voice choked and high.
âDamn right you wonât.â
He dragged you up by your waist, pulling your back against his chest, one arm wrapping across your ribs, the other snaking down to rub your clit in slow, punishing circles again.
âLet another nigga smile at you again in public and Iâma bend you over right then and there,â he whispered, biting your shoulder. âMake sure everybody knows who you belong to.â
You cried out again, the pleasure building faster than your body could handle. It was too much but you loved every second of it. And Smoke? He was relentless. Focused. Determined to etch his name into your skin, your bones, your fucking soul.
âYou gonâ cum one more time for me,â he ordered, fingers working faster now. âAnd then Iâll think about lettinâ myself nut.â
You couldnât even reply because your body was already shaking. Your walls were already spasming around his brutal rod. You felt your mind spiral into that place that only he could take you. The place where pride didnât exist and control was something you gave him freely.
âGo on, baby,â he ordered. âMake my dick shiny. Cum for me.â
And you did. Harder than youâve ever climaxed before. This orgasm felt spiritual like your soul kissed the feet of God before asking for forgiveness and traveling back into your human vessel. You screamed his name into the pillow like a secret finally confessed, your body convulsed, your legs collapsed beneath you as he held you upright, grunting through clenched teeth.
Smoke held you there, both of you trembling in the twinkling moonlight shining through the bedroom. Your back was slick against his chest, your breath short and stuttering. His arm was still banded tight across your stomach, the other gripping your thigh with bruising intensity, like he didnât trust his body not to break you if he let it go free. You felt every inch of himâstill deep, still pulsing, still holding on with that impossible restraint that made you ache in places words couldnât touch.
âFuck⌠Fuck⌠Donât move,â he moaned, his voice cracking down the middleâlow, rasped, and dangerous. âDonât.â
You didnât dare disobey your man. You were already trembling too hard, barely tethered to your body. Your face was damp with tears, your thighs quaking, your walls still fluttering in waves around him.
âShit, babyâŚâ he growled, his voice buried somewhere between awe and agony. âYou tryinâ to milk me dry, huh?â
You whimpered. Not out of pain. But because you felt itâfelt that slow-building quake start to rattle through him. The way his grip tightened. The way his hips stilled just for a beat too long. You felt the flex in his abdomen, the tension coiling at the base of his spine like a spring being wound to the brink of snapping.
Your last orgasm clenched down onto his dick perfectly and now he was close trying to fight against it. You turned your face slightly from the pillow, voice hoarse and barely above a whisper. âWhyâre you holdinâ it in?â
Smoke gritted his teeth tightly. ââCause once I let goâŚâ he hissed, âyou ainât gonâ be able to walk, let alone keep talkinâ shit like you ainât mine.â
You shivered under him. âBut I am yours,â you whispered, the confession slipping out with a breath you didnât realize you were holding.
That broke him. Smoke let out a low, raw groan as his grip shifted. He grabbed your hips with both hands, holding you still as his restraint finally began to splinter.
âSay it again.â
âSmokeââ
âSay. It. Again.â
Your voice caught in your throat, but you gave it to him, every word thick with truth and heat. âIâm yours,â you breathed. âIâve always been yours.â
He let out something between a moan and a curse as he started to move again. Each thrust was rough with purpose, his rhythm tight and controlled even as his body fought against itself for release. âI shouldâve made you say that two days ago,â he murmured into your neck. âCouldâve saved us both a whole lot of trouble.â
You could feel him on edge now. His hands were shaking. His thighs flexed with every grind forward. His jaw locked. âFuck, baby⌠you feel too good,â he rasped. âToo fucking good.â
You whimpered, barely holding yourself up as he rutted into you like it was the last thing heâd ever do.
âWhere you want it?â he choked out, voice frayed and thick with hunger. His hand fisted the meat of your ass, keeping your hips tilted perfectly, helplessly open for him.
âTell me. Right here?â he ground into you deeperâdeeperâand your whole body jolted like heâd struck a nerve that reached your soul.
âWant me to fill this pretty pussy up?â he growled, hips snapping forward again, rough, rhythmic, merciless. âYou want me to cum so deep you leak for days, huh? So every time you open your legs, you remember who the fuck owns it?â
You tried to answer, but your voice cracked around the sound of your own moan.
Your body was done. Shaking, oversensitive, strung out from back-to-back orgasmsâbut still hungry for him. Still desperate to take all of him, to feel the final blow. The one heâd been holding back since the minute he put his hands on you.
Smokeâs thrusts became heavier and it became obvious he was losing the reins. His grip on your hips turned bruising, and a deep, guttural snarl ripped out of him like it came from the base of his spine. âAnswer me, baby! Where. You. Want. It?â
âInside,â you cried, head buried in the sheets, hips bucking against him. âPlease, Smoke, fill me up.â
Smoke roared before grabbing you by the back of your neck and forcing your chest flush to the mattress. His other hand yanked your ass back into him, hard enough to make your eyes roll. His body collapsed over yours, hot and massive and trembling as he began to pound into you like a man possessed. No more teasing. No more patience. Just raw, primal need.
âYou fuckinâ take it,â he growled in your ear. âYou take every drop. Thatâs mine. You hear me? Mine. This pussy⌠this whole fuckinâ body⌠you think Iâm lettinâ it walk around untouched, unclaimed? Nah. Nah, baby. Iâm leavinâ my fuckinâ mark.â
His thrusts were devastating now. Every stroke came with the full weight of his body. His hips snapped forward like punishment, his chest slick against your back, his voice a broken, dirty prayer in your ear.
âI canâtââ you gasped, sobbing against the sheets.
âYes, you⌠can,â he growled, his voice deep and guttural, hips pounding harder now. âYou will. You gonâ take every drop I give you⌠then lay here⌠and thank me for it like a good girl. Understand?â
You felt the tremor roll through his body as his thighs tensed, his back flexed, and the ragged stutter of his breath grew as he chased his own breaking point. He was close. So close. âSay it,â he demanded, his voice sharp as a razor. âSay youâre mine while I paint these walls. Say it with my dick buried in this pussy.â
You cried out, clawing at the sheets, tears streaking your face. âIâm yours, Smoke! Iâm yours, pleaseâcum inside me!â
With a final, brutal thrust, he buried himself so deep you screamed, and then he moaned your name like it was the last word heâd ever say.
You were on the verge of slipping into unconsciousness when you felt Smokeâs hot and heavy load spilling into you in thick waves as his body seized behind you, every muscle locked in place. His nails dug into your hips as he held you there, stuffed full, claimed and ruined. His head dropped into your neck, his moan drawn-out, ragged, the sound of a man breaking as he finally gave in.
He stayed like that. Still pulsing inside you and panting. His lips grazed your skin, open-mouthed, breath hot. Then, after a long, heavy silenceâhe exhaled and murmured low, almost reverent: âMine.â
And this time, you didnât argue. Because your body? It agreed.

The fan in the corner spun in lazy, squeaky circles above my head, doing little to chase the Mississippi heat that settled like wet cotton across my sticky skin. The air in the tiny dry cleaning shop my parents owned was always a degree or two warmer than the air outside, thick and humid thanks to the industrial steaming machine that was almost always running. The air smelled of starch and lemon-scented detergent, it was a smell that stuck to all my clothes, a smell that wasnât foul but one I had grown to hate over time.
The shop itself was tiny, but there was a large glass storefront on the wall opposite the register that looked out onto the busy street outside, different people all bustling about through their day. Inside, the shop was a quiet reprieve from the chaos outside, the shop was always silent, thatâs how my mama liked it. The only noise usually came from the radio where recorded sermons played on repeat, or occasionally, when my older sister, Estelle, would put on her Lead Belly records.
In secret of course.
If my mama or daddy found out we were listening to secular music in their house theyâd be livid.
My family lived in the back of the shop, there was a second level that we stayed in upstairs. It was cramped but it worked for us, just enough room for the four of us. I knew to be grateful, in Clarksdale everyone struggled. A sharecropping community that survived off of bartering and trading primarily. My family was lucky to be one of the few that didnât rely on sharecropping as a means of survival. My family wasnât rich but I knew we had it better than others around us.
My mama had inherited a little bit of money from a white woman she used to be a maid for, when she died she actually left her something if you could believe that. Enough for my parents to open this place up. So everyday I prayed for that womanâs soul, and that this place continued to be successful. Or else weâd end up in those fields like everyone else most likely. My elder sister Estelle and I worked in the front of the shop, doing whatever we could. Me more than her but Iâd never let her hear me say that out loud. I was a decent seamstress thanks to my grandmother who taught me from young, so I usually worked at patching holes, making adjustments and what not. These days, I was challenging myself to see if I could actually make clothes.
Thatâs how I spent most of my time, sewing and stitching up orders here at the shop, or in church listening to our pastor preach the word.
My sister wasnât like me. She was more outgoing. Fiery and charismatic in all the ways I was not. Beautiful and vivacious in all the ways that I was not. She had a slender frame that sat atop long model-like legs, her skin a deep chestnut that seemed to always be glowing no matter what, her hair she wore in neat curls pinned up prettily.
She was probably my only friend, I preferred to stay to myself. We often laughed that we were each other's polar opposite. And despite our differences we loved each other. My sister being the free spirit that she was, spent most of her time outside, running with her friends, doing things our parents would hate no doubt. And every time I cover for her no matter what, sheâs my sister of course. She had been gone more than usual these days. Usually sheâd return home, even if it was in the wee hours of the morning by the time she got back. The last few weeks sheâd been gone a lot, leaving at sunset and not returning until the next day. Today was one of those days, Estelle had snuck off last night and had still yet to return. I had hoped she would return soon.
Our parents were pretty occupied today but I knew that it wouldnât last all day. Our daddy was out making deliveries, and our mama was hosting her weekly prayer circle. As if we didnât spend enough time in church she insisted on bringing it home with us. Really, the prayer circle was an excuse to gather round with her friends and gossip. As annoying as I found it to listen to them in the next room gossiping about the next person, I was grateful for days like this. It kept my mama busy and free from hovering around me like a hawk as she critiqued my sewing. It also meant I got first dibs on whatever treats were leftover from their little prayer circle. I was hoping my mamaâs friend, Ms. Bernadine, had brought her famous pound cake today. My eyes glanced up every now and then, watching the window closely, looking to see if I would spot Estelle anytime.
In my lap sat a pair of someoneâs Sunday trousers, knee torn wide open. My fingers worked the needle with instinct more than focus.
Poke, pull, knot, tighten. Repeat.
I would pause every now and again to twist my wrist in circles, my hand would start to get numb as a result of the repetition in my movements.
From the back room came the clatter of China cups and the syrupy sound of gossip hiding behind scripture. I started to zone in and out as I listened from the other side of the wall.
âYou know they found all those bodies in that ditch near Frogmore.â
Poke.
âI had heard⌠is it still taped off down there?â
Pull.
âOh please, you know them crackers donât care nunâ bout some dead black folks in a ditch⌠sonâs a bitches probably know exactly who did it.â
Knot.
âOh hush, Verna. You donât know that to be true to be saying thatâŚâ
Tighten.
The thread snagged on the frayed fabric. I reached for the scissors, jaw tight, fingers slick as I snipped it free.
âAnd what else you suppose happened? They just all died miraculously and put themselves in that ditch?â
Poke.
The needle slipped. A sharp sting bloomed on my index finger. I hissed sharply under my breath. The needle had poked me but not enough to draw blood.
âI heard itâs the water, something in that water done made all those folk sick. They saying the water company knew about it and they trynaâ cover it up.â
I realigned the needle, resuming where I left off.
âYou sound just as crazy as them white folks now. Ainât nobody else got sick since then. You know my cousin lives on Frogmoreâshe just fine. We all know who it is.â
My fingers stalled as I strained my ears to hear better, the shift in topic piquing my interest. I lazily pulled the needle through and back, my mind wandering to the news that had dominated the small town of Clarksdale for the last two weeks. A ditch near Frogmore plantation had been discovered, filled with unidentified bodies. Black people. Some who had been missing for a while, others too decomposed to properly identify. Everyone had been on edge since then. The Klan hadnât terrorized the townsfolk in what seemed like a long while, but people were beginning to think the Klan was back to their old ways. It was a shame, but it wasnât that unusual for black folks to turn up missing round here. Lawmen didnât care, that's for sure. Others had their own theories about the missing people in town.
ââŚWho she talkinâ âbout?â Another voice whispered.
âItâs gotta be them twins. Stack and Smoke. You know all this weird stuff started up again soon as they came back. Bodies just coming up missing.â
âI heard they were in bed with Capone in Chicago. Now they wanna bring all that trouble down here with them.â
Poke.
Blood.
The needle dropped. It hit the hardwood with a sound far too loud for its size. I was too busy eavesdropping and watching the door that I slipped, and pricked my finger. A bead of crimson tinted blood beading at the top of my index finger.
I winced in pain, sucking in a breath through my teeth, cradling my hand to my chest. The sting bloomed in my fingertip, sharp and pulsing, a perfect drop of red welling up from the pad like a ruby rising out of the earth. Just as I brought it to my lips, the shop door swung open.
"You are not gonna believe the night I had!"
I jumped, startled at the sudden interruption.
Estelle.
She breezed in like a whirlwindâhair slightly disheveled, cheeks flushed, eyes shining too bright, like she was still riding the rhythm of a drum no one else could hear. She spun in a lazy circle before plopping onto the nearest stool, kicking her legs back and forth like she was a teenager again.
âOooo girl,â she sang, âYou missed everything.â
I blinked, still sucking the blood off my finger. âWhere have you been? You cut it real close today. You know mama will skin you alive if she catch you coming in late like this.â
âPshhh. Mama too busy preachinâ and drinkinâ Bernadineâs lemonade to even notice,â she waved it off. âAnywayâlemme tell you. Thereâs this club? You know the one that used to be that ole saw millâClub Juke? Girl. I went. I finally went.â
I didnât respond right away. My finger still throbbed, blood trailing faintly down the side.
âYouâre bleedinâ.â
It took her a moment to say it. Almost like she had to remember to notice. Her smile flickered. Then returned.
âCome here, lemme see.â
She hopped off the stool and crossed the room, rounding the counter to stand next to me, rummaging through the drawer under the register for a handkerchief. She tore one clean down the middle, gently taking my hand like sheâd done it a hundred times.
âYou always so clumsy,â she murmured. âYou gotta stop gettinâ hurt. You too soft for that kinda pain.â
âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â
âYour skinâs too pretty to be getting scarred upâ.â She flashed that same easy smile.
Her fingers worked fast, tying the cloth around my finger, dabbing the rest of the blood with another piece. But I caught it as she leaned in closerâthe edge of her collar shifting just enough to expose something.
A cluster of faint, round bruises along her collarbone.
My brows furrowed.
âWhatâs that?â
âWhatâs what?â
I sucked my teeth at her.
âOn your neck.â I rolled my eyes before reaching up to pull the collar of her dress to the side. Revealing the array of deep purple bruises that littered her neck, love bites I presumed. But from who?
She glanced down, casually pulling her collar up to cover the marks, âNothinâ. Just a little fun, thatâs all.â
âThat donât look like no fun Iâve ever seen.â
âYou wouldnât know what fun looks like if it danced in front of you with a bottle of bootleg and no clothes on.â
I rolled my eyes again, but something in my chest felt tight. âYou were at that club last night?â
âMhm.â Her eyes glittered. âIt was⌠somethinâ. The music, the people, the way it all justâmoved. You ever walk into a place and feel like itâs been waitinâ for you?â
She leaned her elbows on the counter, chin in her hands, grinning like a girl in love.
âI swear, I ainât never felt like that before. Like every little thing that happened was meant to. Like I didnât have to think anymore. Just feel. Just be.â
âYou mustâve met somebody, thatâs the only time you get all giddy like this.â I said, reaching for the discarded trousers I had been stitching up.
âI did actuallyâŚhis nameâs preacherboy.â She breathed, her gaze trailing off as she stared at an empty spot on the floor, like she was picturing his face.
âPreacherboy? What sort of name is that?â I pondered out loud, mostly to myself.
She giggled. The sound was high, distant. A little too airy to be real.
âLook, never mind that.â she said, suddenly serious. âI want you to come with me tonight.â
âEstelleââ
âNo, listen. Just once. You ainât gotta stay long. I just want you to see it. I ainât never seen you let go, not once in your whole life. Always hiding behind needles and sermons. Ainât you tired of that?â
I opened my mouth to argue, but the words didnât come.
She touched my bandaged hand again, her eyes softer now. âTrust me, okay? Just for tonight. Just try. You might even like it.â
Her hand felt warm over mine. Familiar. Safe.
I nodded. Slowly. âIâll think about it..â
Her smile widened.
But as she turned away, humming under her breath, I couldnât help but notice the strange stillness in her stepsâlike a puppet remembering how to move.
She was acting strange again. She normally got like this whenever her attention fell on a new man. Whoever this preacherboy was seemed to be her latest infatuation. I wondered how long this fling would last. In my head, I knew I sounded bitter. I tried not to be.
I just wish Estelle was more careful with her heart is all. I knew from the past it wouldnât be long before this boy broke her heart like all the others, or she broke his first. In either scenario it usually left her in a state of heartbreak that I hated seeing her in. Despite my own opinions on her love life, I admired her for actually not being afraid to fall for someone.
I had never been so brave. I had always been that way, running from romance. I always got nervous and clammed up around men. To say I was inexperienced would be an understatement. I didnât blame myself entirely. My parents didnât make it easy. A lifetime of being promised eternal damnation for even having sinful thoughts, let alone sinful actions was enough to spook me into staying âsweetâ as the elders at church called it.
Speaking of church people.
My mother and her friends all filed out of the back, coats and purses in hand. The prayer circle members gathered in the front of the shop like a blur of Sunday hats and pressed linen. Mamaâs face wore that careful smile she saved for company, her hands fluttering as she herded them toward the door. Estelle straightened up beside me, folding her hands politely over one another as the ladies poured into the front of the shop.
âItâs always so good to meet with all you ladies, especially you Bernadine, I think I gain a couple inches on my waist everytime we meet. You need to stop being stingy with that pound cake recipe.â
Ms. Bernadineâround as a teacake and twice as warmâlet out a laugh that shook the lace pinned at her collar. âOld family recipe, child, I canât give it away just yet. But Lord knows I love you for asking.â
Her eyes slid past Mama, finding me and Estelle standing behind the counter. She smiled wider, lifting a hand in greeting. âAnd there you two are, just as beautiful as your mama. I wish yâall would have joined us in prayer today, itâd be nice to see some young faces.â
My throat bobbed. âYes, maâam. We was mindinâ the shop, hopefully next time weâll get the chance.â
âYou are always so dutiful,â she said, turning her full attention to me. âYour mama and daddyâs pride, I can tell. Quiet and obedient. Thatâs how a young lady stays blessed, you hear me?â
I nodded, cheeks warming under her praise.
Then her gaze flicked over to Estelle. âAnd you, Miss Thing, I ainât seen you in church for nearly a month, seems like.â
Estelleâs smile flickered but didnât fall. âBeen busy helpinâ round the shop, maâam.â
âMmm.â Bernadineâs hum tasted of doubt. âWell, I hope to see you back in them pews come Sunday. Nothingâs more important than serving the Lord of course. Especially now, all this sinning young people doing now, only welcomes the devil in. Youâd do well to remember that.â
âMmhmm. Thatâs right.â Another woman hummed in agreement,
Ms. Bernadine continued, her eyes trained on Estelle, âFolks goinâ missingâgood folks, too. Now isnât the time to distance yourself from God-
A hush rippled through the circle, the clink of handbags and keys momentarily still.
âOh now, Bernadine, donât go scarinâ these girls half to death,â another womanâthin, sharp-facedâchided. âAinât nothinâ but drifters that come up gone anyhow.â
Bernadine scoffed. âGone is gone, drifter or not. Yâall girls watch yourselves, hear? Especially after dark.â
âYes, maâam,â We chorused.
The women eventually filed out the door, voices trailing off into the dusty street. Mama watched them go, one hand still perched at her hip. Then her eyes turned to us, sharp as sewing needles.
âEstelle,â she said, soft but heavy. âWhere you been all day?â
âOh, I was helpinâ Lila with her hair,â Estelle said easily, brushing nonexistent lint off her dress. âShe got herself a new pressing comb.â
I glanced at her. That lie came out too smooth.
Mama narrowed her eyes but didnât press further. âWell, you know I donât like yâall out too late with all this mess going on in town. We already donât stay far from Frogmore.â
Mama turned toward me. âAnd you? You finished with those alterations yet?â
âYes maâam,â I said quietly, my eyes dropping to the sewing kit beside me. âGot two dresses done and patched up Mr. Wilkinsâ Sunday pants.â
She nodded, satisfied. âGood. Lord willing, weâll have enough work through the end of the month.â
She moved past me then, into the back again, her footsteps soft but decisive.
I exhaled, finally letting my shoulders relax once she was out of sight.
Estelle nudged me with her elbow. âYou see? Thatâs why you need to come tonight. Mama and daddy will work you to death in this place if you let them. Be selfish for one nightâ
âEstelleâŚâ
âNo, listen.â Her voice dropped low, conspiratorial. âAinât nobody in there worried about who you are, or what church you go to. That place just⌠wraps around you. Like music made of warm hands. AhâŚI wish you couldâve heard the way preacherboy sang last night.â
She said it dreamily, like it was more than just a club. Like it was a calling.
I stared at her, unsure of what to say. There was something distant behind her eyes, like she wasnât all the way in the room with me. Like she was already back there, dancing in the dark.
âYou really want me to go that bad?â I asked.
She smiled, reaching over and brushing a loose curl behind my ear the way she used to when we were kids.
âI do. You deserve to be seen, baby sister.â
Her words settled into me slowly, tempting and sweet.
Maybe it was just the way she said it. Or maybe I was tired of being good. Tired of hiding under piles of scripture and dry cleaning orders. I donât know what prompted me to say yes on this night when I had declined her sordid invitations nearly every other night.
âAlright,â I said, softer than I meant to. âIâll come.â
Her smile widened, just a little too fast.
âGood,â she said, reaching to squeeze my hand reassuringly. âYou wonât regret it. I promise.â
The rest of the day went by as usual. The sun had set and after eating dinner with our parents we went to bed like normal, or thatâs what our parents thought. We lied awake in bed, waiting until we heard the tell tale snores of our parents in the next room. It was a little past ten oâclock, later than Estelle wanted to head out but I refused to leave until I was sure they were both sleep.
I sat on the edge of my bed as Estelle got ready, sitting at her vanity. She wore a pretty blue dress that accentuated the hourglass of her waist. She turned to look over her shoulder at me, her eyebrows scrunched together.
âAinât you gonâ change?â She asked, turning in her seat to look at me, a disapproving edge to her voice as she looked at my clothes.
I shrugged disinterestedly, âWhatâs wrong with this? I ainât there to impress nobody.â
She sucked her teeth at me, waving me off as she stood, dropping her makeup brush down on the vanity. She whisked over to our shared wardrobe, her hand reaching deep into the back until she pulled something out with a triumphant glint in her eyes. A dress.
She spun around, holding it out like it was something sacred. My mouth opened, searching for the words I knew she wouldnât let me say. It was beautifulâtoo beautiful. An old dress of hers Iâd seen once before, hanging untouched like something forbidden. It was more revealing than anything Iâd ever worn.
âAht! Before you say no,â she said, wagging a finger at me, âjust try it on.â
I hesitated. She tugged me gently to my feet and turned us toward the full-length mirror in the corner. Draping the dress over my shoulders from behind, she looked at me through our shared reflection.
âJust try it on⌠please?â she said softly.
I glanced at her, then back at the girl in the mirrorâmyself. I tried to envision the dress on my body but couldnât. It was a far cry from the modest dresses and apron I lived in whilst working. I only dressed up somewhat on Sundays for church, only with much more fabric.
Slowly, I took the dress from her, feeling the silk slide like cool water between my fingers, âOkay.â
She squealed and clamped her hand over her own mouth to muffle the noise. I laughed at her, just a little, before slipping out of my nightdress and standing in my slip.
She turned toward her vanity once more, already busying herself with her rouge and lipstick like it was any other night.
I unzipped the dress and stepped in, one leg at a time. The fabric clung to my thighs, my hips, and the full swell of my backside as I pulled it up. I had to tug it a little at the waist, where my belly curved soft and low. For a moment I panicked, thinking the zipper might not close.
But it did. Snugly.
I turned to the mirror, and the girl staring back at me didnât look like someone who hemmed pants for a living.
The dress was made of black silk, delicate red roses blooming across it in intricate patterns, their green vines curling like secrets up the hem. The neckline scooped low, resting just off my shoulders and showing the soft valleys of my cleavage that I usually kept hidden. The fabric hugged my arms, my belly, my thick thighs without apology. My brown skin glowed under the shine of it, like moonlight stretched over mahogany. My hips curved wide and certain, the dress dipping gently at the waist before flowing down to my calves.
Iâd never looked at myself like this. Not like I was allowed to be⌠desirable.
Not like I was allowed to take up space.
âLook at these curves! You been hiding these under them old lady dresses.â Estelle joked, punctuating her words with a swat to my backside. I shushed her, swatting her hands away.
âItâsâŚa lot.â I said apprehensively, looking back at myself.
Estelle stood, fluffing her hair once more in the mirror before turning to face me directly. She stood behind me, reaching forward to pull my hair up and out of my face, she raised my pressed hair up in a makeshift ponytail.
âYou look beautiful. And itâs not too much actually. This red looks perfect on your skin, and I have a hair clip that will go great with thisâŚâ She trailed off, plucking a few bobby pins from her vanity to stick into my hair. She styled my hair up, leaving a few face framing curls on each side.
I stopped resisting, letting her poke and prod at me until she finished with a content sigh. Looking at myself in the mirror felt strange, like I was wearing a costume almost. I listened to Estelleâs words of encouragement, using them to hype myself into actually going through with all this.
We grabbed our shawls and clutches, and quieter than Iâd ever moved through our own place, I followed Estelle down the steps, both of us expertly avoiding each stair that we knew squeaked from memory.
Once outside, the coolness of the air settled around me. Much cooler than it was during the day but I could still feel the heat of the sun baked dirt under my feet. Estelle linked arms with me, she practically skipped the entire way there. We walked along the dirt road, surrounded by cotton fields in nearly every direction. The further away from home we got the more anxious I grew. Everything in my body screaming at me to turn back. That I was being careless. We both were. Suddenly, everything Ms. Bernadine had said to us earlier started to feel less like nonsense. Was I walking right into dangerâs arms?
I didnât know anything about the smokestack twins other than they were dangerous, and had a lengthy history of being in trouble with the law. I was too young to remember much of them from when they were here seven years prior, but everyone couldnât stop talking about their return. And even more about their new club. I was curious, just like everyone else. But I was feeling less and less like being a risk taker tonight. I swallowed the lump forming in my throat, my eyes darting between the rows of cotton around us. Like I was waiting for the boogeyman himself to pop out. Estelle on the other hand was completely unphased.
âI just canât wait for you to meet him! When I tell you that heâs perfectâŚand I actually mean it this time! This is completely different than the last guy-
I felt her tug at me, âHelloo? Are you listening?â
âIâm listeningâŚyou said you really like preacherboy and blah blah blahâŚâ I teased.
She pinched my side, tugging me closer as she resumed her story about this boy. I felt a little more at ease the closer we got, other groups of people were walking along the road too. Dressed in their best clothes. Not being alone on the quiet road anymore helped me feel a little better.
Just as my feet felt like giving out in these kitten heels, I caught a glimpse of the club in the distance. Light poured out of the frosted glass windows making it look like it was glowing a warm shade of amber. I could hear music in the distance as well. We marched onwards.
Club Juke looked nothing like the old saw mill that was once a run down wooden box of sheet metal and decaying lumber. Here, it looked entirely different. Lit up and alive. Rows of cars were parked out front, a few people hung around outside, smoking a cigarette or chatting amongst their group. We fell in the queue for the door. I peaked ahead, seeing a rather large man blocking the door, he stopped each person, letting some pass easier than others it seemed. And then it was our turn.
âEvening ladies, Club Juke is happy to have you tonight.â The man said with a welcoming smile,
âHey cornbread.â Estelle said, greeting him casually.
It struck me as oddâEstelle greeting him like an old friend. She'd only been here once, hadnât she?
âEstelleâs just a social butterfly. She makes friends everywhere she goes.â I reasoned in my head.
The man stepped to the side allowing us room to pass. My feet wanted to turn and bolt. But Estelleâs grip tightenedâtoo tight, like sheâd felt the thought crawl through me. She pulled me through the doorway like crossing it meant something permanent.
In an instant warmth enveloped my body. I looked around with curious eyes at the tangle of dancing limbs around me. The bass of the music and stomping feet shook the floor, sending vibrations through my feet. There were string lights that draped from the ceiling, the reason for the amber glow of the club. The bar was fixed adjacent to the stage where most of the crowd had gathered.
Estelle led me towards the back, her hand still in mine. She weaved through the crowd like she owned the place. I didnât question her as she opened a sliding barn door, leading to a backroom. Inside was a round table, covered in poker chips and playing cards. At the table, sat four men. Two, I instantly recognized as the smokestack twins. I felt my hand grow clammy as my eyes settled on them. I had never seen them in person before now but they were every bit imposing in real life as the rumors about them suggested.
Estelle released my hand and rounded the table, âSammie!â she squealed, plopping herself down on the lap of the man who seemed like the youngest out of the four, he had a guitar propped up beside him. This mustâve been the preacherboy she couldnât stop talking about.
I stood awkwardly near the entrance, I was stunned at Estelleâs public display of affection. She moved around this club, and these people like sheâd known them for years.
âLook who came back to see us fellasâŚbringing gifts it seems.â The voice came from the man sitting nearest to where I stood.
I recognized him as Bo Chow, he and his wife owned the general store a short walk from my parents' dry cleaning business. I had only ever seen him in passing, and even less in recent weeks. He nor his wife had been around much it seemed. He had always seemed kind.
Now however, he stared at me in a way that I couldnât quite decipher.
Estelle giggled, drawing my attention back to her, this Sammie or whomever had his face nuzzled in her neck.
âStop it!- Oh yeah, youâre right Bo. I did bring a giftâŚâ Estelleâs eyes fell back onto mine and she smiled at me with her usual smile. Although, now it didnât bring me comfort. In fact, I was growing increasingly uncomfortable with the display in front of me.
She peeled herself away from Sammie, standing and circling the table once more to stand beside me. She tugged me over, forcing me closer to the table. She stood behind me, hands closing around my arms, not hardâbut tight. I felt exposed in the dress she picked for me, like a lamb in borrowed skin.
âThisâŚis my baby sister. Isnât she pretty? I told you iâd get her to come tonight.â Estelle said proudly.
I glanced back at her but her eyes were not on mine. Her eyes didnât look back at me. Not really. It was like a film had settled over themânot just gloss, but something between her and the rest of the world. Like she was underwater. Or dreaming. Or being dreamed.
âThat she is..â The man who was introduced to me as Sammie said, his voice deeper than his baby face suggested.
âWell say hi now, donât be shy.â Estelle whispered to me.
I cleared my throat, forcing a smile, âHi.â
One of the twins chuckled at that. I couldnât tell them apart and so I wasnât sure if it was the one they called Smoke or Stack. That is until one of them finally spoke.
âShut up, nigga, you âbout to scare her off.â Blue-cap swatted the other.
âFuck you,â the other muttered. âYou the scary one, Smoke.â
They were more identical than I was expecting. The only difference being their clothes. Smoke had on a white long sleeve button down, a dual gun holster strapped on his shoulders. Stack had on a vest, a white long sleeve dress shirt underneath. He had a toothpick between his teeth.
âThese are my friends sis, Smoke..StackâŚBo..and Sammie.â Estelle said with a smile, pointing at each of them.
Friends?
âYou made friends already?â I asked, staring between her and them.
She giggled and I wondered what was funny about my question. She pulled me around the table, taking a seat on Sammieâs lap again.
The one called Stack pulled the empty chair beside him out, the legs of the chair screeching as it dragged across the wooden floors. He patted the seat, winking at me.
âCome on now, you can sit right here.â
And I slid into the seat beside him.
The conversation picked back up amongst them as they resumed their poker game. I sat silently, watching the chips fly across the table. I listened only partially as they engaged in conversation. I was distracted. By the sound of giggles and kisses on my left side, and the feeling of being watched on my right side. I folded my hands in my lap, glancing over to the side where Stack was already staring back at me, immediately I tore my eyes away from his, returning to stare at the cards on the table.
They played cards. They drank. They talked, not loud enough for me to really follow. Their words braided together like smokeâhalf-jokes and murmured nothings that never seemed to include me.
âYouâre awful quiet, baby sister,â Estelle said at one point, glancing at me from Sammieâs lap.
I parted my lips to speak when Sammie interjected, he leaned back in his seat to look past Estelle at me, âAre you not having fun?â he asked and I felt everyoneâs eyes on me once more.
I gave a half smile, âIâmâŚhaving fun.â I said unsure, like I wanted to convince myself.
Maybe this was fun and I was the lame one here.
âWe should get you a drink, help you loosen up.â Bo said, glancing over at the door where it was still cracked slightly.
âYeah, a drink!â Estelle said cheerfully.
And I felt my stomach churn as I glanced at her, she seemed to be echoing everything they all said and I didnât like it. Felt like she was far away even though she was sitting right there. I had so many thoughts and questions that I wanted to ask, things that felt odd but I couldnât explain why. Stack staring at me silently, shamelessly, wasnât helping me work through my thoughts any better.
I wasnât much of a drinker unsurprisingly, but this room felt like it was growing smaller by the second and I wanted out. I stood from my seat with a nod, âIâll go and get one.â
âBring me one too!â Estelle called after me.
I shuffled over to the door, slipping through the opening. I felt some of my anxiety dissipate as I moved through the sea of dancing bodies. At least here I could blend in, back there felt like being under a microscope.
I approached the bar, taking a seat on one of the stools.
The barmaid was busy serving another patron, giving me time to stare up at the chalkboard list of spirits, my head hurt at the overwhelming amount of options laid out in front of me. I wasnât much of a drinker, the only thing I âdrankâ regularly was the communion wine every first Sunday at church.
I felt a hand on my back, resting there gently, palm warm through the silk of my dress.
âThought you might need help picking.â I didnât need to turn my head to know that it was Stack. His voice was low, the twang of his accent made it sound like he was singing to me.
He removed his hand from my back and I felt like I could breathe normally again. He brushed by, taking a seat on the barstool next to mine, our thighs brushing. It seemed like any slight physical contact between us ignited something under my skin, warming my blood. I could feel goosebumps sprinkle over my exposed arms and skin.
âI was just looking.â I answered, rubbing a hand up and down my own arm.
He turned in his seat, facing me, âYou donât seem like the corn liquor type.â He mused, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
In this light I could catch the glint of the gold adorning his teeth. Each individual wave in his hair that had been smoothed down with pomade. His eyes were different than before, almost glowing? I hesitated, glancing over at him, a lump forming in the back of my throat, equal parts intrigue and fear.
The barmaid returned before I got the chance to answer him, he reached into the inner pocket of his vest, retrieving two bills that he slid across the bar, âTwo cognacs.â
âYou donât have to.â I started, my voice coming out weaker than I intended. It felt difficult to speak, like the air between has shifted. Thick and charged.
âItâs just a drink.â He said, shifting in his seat to lean closer, âDonât hurt my feelings.â
My cheeks warmed and I accepted with a nod. A silence fell over us, not entirely uncomfortable or awkward. Later, the drinks arrived. Two short and round glasses of sienna tinted liquid. He slid one of the glasses towards me. I hesitated, waiting and watching him first as he brought the glass to his lips. Watching as his Adam's apple bobbed as he swallowed.
I raised my own glass, sniffing it curiously. My nose burned, it smelled like cinnamon and rubbing alcohol. His eyes never left mine, watching me patiently. It felt like I was being appraised by him under his steady eye contact but I didnât look away. The first sip was as expected, it tasted like liquid fire and cinnamon. I struggled to not make a face as the liquid spread over my tongue and down my throat.
He chuckled, his laugh a low rumble in the pit of his chest. âDonât gulp, just sip.â He instructed, his hand reaching out to me, resting on my wrist gently to control how much liquor passed through my lips. A softness curled in my chest, loosening the knot of tension I wasnât aware I had been holding. I could feel the gentle thump of the pulse in my wrist under his hand. I swallowed again, this time smaller, and the liquor felt smoother, coating my throat comfortingly.
âThere you go.â He praised, withdrawing his hand from mine once the glass was empty.
He downed the rest of his own drink, ordering two more.
I could feel the heat of the cognac warm me from the inside out, my posture slackened as I relaxed in my seat. Looking out into the crowd, my eyes passed over the tangle of dancing limbs.
âI see why Estelle likes it here.â I stated, my gaze returning to him where he was already looking at me.
He leaned in to hear me better. I could smell the cologne on him, a blend of sandalwood and cardamom. âShe does. She fits in real good here.â
âYou all seem close.â I said, carefully.
He shrugged, âShe likes to be liked.â
I had questions hanging above my head that I couldnât seem to shake. Questions about him, this place, how my sister fit into all this. His response didnât answer anything, but the tone in his voice made me drop it.
âYou could fit in here too.â He said, just as the drinks arrived.
I had to laugh at that, shaking my head at him. âNo, probably not. Iâm not like my sister.â I said earnestly, a genuine smile finding itâs way to my face.
His face never faltered, âI know.â He said confidently, as if he knew me longer than he actually had. It felt like he was staring directly into the depths of my soul, bearing witness to the internal monologue in my head. Like I was a book that he had memorized, cover to cover.
I wasnât sure how to respond. It didnât matter, as he was reaching for my glass, taking it in his own hand.
âOpen.â He spoke, it came out like less of a request and more of a command.
My breath lagged. My heart screamed to resistâbut my mouth parted anyway.
He tipped the glass to my lips, slow but unyielding. The liquor flowed over my tongue, burning, drowning out every thought but him.
âGood girl,â he murmured, voice like silk wrapped around iron.
He set the glass down, using his thumb to wipe away a droplet of cognac that pooled at the corner of my mouth. His hand stalled, thumb dragging across my plump lower lip. I felt frozen in place, the desire to pull away and create some space between us muffled by the loud pounding of my increased heart rate in my chest. I felt the coolness of the metal of the rings on his fingers. His pupils were larger than before. I didnât push back as his thumb slipped past the swell of my lips, dipping into the warm wetness of my mouth.
It felt like the tempo of the music had slowed to a snailâs pace. The voices of those around us seemed distant and far away.
"Your eyes are pretty when you drinkâŚâ He murmured, thumb flattening against my tongue.
It was my own hiccup that drew me back to reality. I blinked, leaning back in my seat and pulling away. He withdrew his thumb, now shiny with my saliva.
I wasnât sure what that was between us just now. I had never done anything remotely as intimate as that just felt. I resisted the urge to pull him back closer, melting into him.
âYouâre jumpy. Like a kitten.â He said, tone soft and teasing.
I smiled against my will, avoiding his gaze, âSorry.â I mumbled out.
âItâs cute.â He drawled, leaning back to give me space.
He rested his elbows on the edge of the bar, taking his own glass and sipping his drink, âI know youâre not always shy.â There he goes again, speaking like he knew me already. Every word that came out of his mouth felt intentional. Like he knew what Iâd say ahead of time.
âNot always. Just around new peopleâŚnew places, I guess.â I answered.
âEstelle is the outgoing one. You seem like the more social one between you and Smoke.â I said, my gaze drifted over to the landing on the second floor where I noticed Smoke had taken residence up on, staring down at the crowd as a cigar hung from between his lips.
Smoke snorted, his eyes following my gaze over to his brother, âSmoke just likes acting like somebody grandaddy thatâs all.â
I laughed too.
âIâve been waiting for you.â He said casually, eyes falling back to me.
I raised an eyebrow at him, âWaiting for me?â I echoed.
âYeah. Estelleâs been saying she would bring you. Didnât think tonight sheâd actually manage it.â He answered, raising his glass, watching as the liquor swirled around the edge of the glass.
âSheâs been coming here for a while then?â I asked, the words slipping out before I could stop them. The liquor had made me braverâor maybe just slower to stop myself.
My breath stalled as I awaited his response.
He hummed, âFew weeks.â
Weeks. Estelle told me she only just came for the first time last night.
That this was new, and she had been curious. My throat felt dry. What had been her motivation for lying? It seemed like a pointless lie to tell but one that didnât settle well in my stomach. Stack glanced over at me, noting my silence.
âShe didnât tell you, did she?â He pondered,
I swallowed, shaking my head.
âYou mad at her?â
I shrugged my shoulders, âI donât know. Just weird.â
He leaned in again, his knee bumping mine, his hand resting on the back of my stool, âDonât overthink it. We keep things low profile here. Discretion, privacy and all thatâŚâ He reasoned.
Estelle and I didnât keep secrets from each other though.
âI should find her.â I decided, spinning around in my stool and standing to my feet.
The blood rushed to my head as I abruptly stood, feeling dizzy and off balance. He caught my wrist in his hand, steadying me. He rose up from his seat next, sliding a hand down to the small of my back, âEasy now.â
I didnât resist as he stood behind me, close enough to feel his breath fanning my neck. He guided me through the crowd.
The closer we got to the door, the heavier my chest felt. My skin prickled with that cold-warm static again. Stack opened the door for me like before. I stepped through.
And stopped. Dead in my tracks.
Smoke and Bo now gone. Poker chips and playing cards laid scattered on the floor. Estelle was laying across the table, dress hiked up one thigh. Sammie hovered over her, his mouth at the hollow of her collarbone.
He was biting her?
Slowly, deeply, like he was savoring every drop of blood that seeped out of the two puncture wounds on her neck.
âWhat are you doing?!â I shrieked, eyes widening at the scene in front of me.
Estelle stirred, lazy half lidded eyes drifting over to me, her lips curved into a wide smile, âYouâre backâŚâ She sighed, her voice gentle and airy.
Sammie raised his head from her neck, mouth and lips stained red. Red with blood. He smiled in my direction, sharp fangs poking out. I could feel bile rise in the back of my throat.
âWhat is this?â I asked again, more firm. I took a step back, but my back collided into Stackâs chest. I pulled away, inching towards the left. He looked at me, his face calm as he watched my face, gauging my reactions.
âNothing she doesnât want to happen.â Stack answered for me.
I shook my head in disbelief, backing away further. I could feel my heart beat quicken, adrenaline peaking.
âHeâs just feeding, donât worry. It only hurts the first time, I swear.â Estelle cooed, a dreamy look still in her eyes.
She raised from the table, adjusting her clothes. Blood spilled from the two pea sized puncture wounds on her neck. She didnât react, completely unphased by the blood now coating her chest, âAfter the first time, it actually starts to feel good. Euphoric.â She explained, extending her arms out for me to take.
I swatted her hands away from me, backing up until I hit the wall behind me, âWhy did you bring me here Estelle? What is this place?â I asked frantically,
She frowned, a look on her face as if she was sorry for me, as if she didnât understand the reason for my distress, âSo they can feed on you.â She explained, as if it was the most casual thing ever.
The words echoed in my head.
âDo you hear yourself? Estelle.â I said, staring into her eyes but they felt unfamiliar.
She just shook her head, smile lingering, shoulders slumping like a tired child. âItâs not bad,â she insisted. âThey take care of us. They make it feel good.â
My chest squeezed painfully, bile rising at the sight of Sammieâs mouth still shiny with her blood. âTheyâre using you,â I choked out.
âNo, I'm helping them,â Estelle corrected softly. âAnd...I like it. It feels good."
Her words made my stomach twist.
Sammie wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, eyes glittering gold under the hanging bulb. âAinât no need to run, sugar,â he drawled lazily, as if heâd read my mind before I could even move.
âWhat did you do to her?â I hisseded in Sammieâs direction,
He approached Estelle, and she instantly melted into him as he wrapped an arm around her, âCompulsion. But donât worryâI canât make her do anything she doesnât want to, I just amplify her true desires, forcing them to the forefront.â
I shook my head, and I grabbed hold of Estelle, pulling her away from Sammieâs side, âEstelleâplease, we need to leave. Now.â I searched her eyes, hoping to get through to her somehow.
She smiled, hands squeezing mine reassuringly, âNoâŚItâs fine.â She crooned, âJust relaxâŚthe more you resist, the more it hurts.â She said.
I felt the color drain from my face. I shook her hands from mine. Panic had replaced the warmth that the cognac had provided early, dulling my senses. I felt sober now.
âI donât want this.â I said.
Stack interjected from his spot near the door, his eyes now fully glowing, âYou donât mean that. Youâre just scared.â
I brushed past the three of them. Sliding the door open and slipping through. I fought my way through the crowd as I ran. The music roared around me, heavy and loud. I weaved through the crowd until I made it through, running out the door. My heart pounded painfully against my ribs as I sprinted.
The cool air outside felt like needles against my warm skin. I didnât stop or look back as I ran down the same road we arrived on. I took a beeline, dashing into the cotton fields. I knew I wouldnât last long running on foot, my best bet was hiding, using the cover of the cotton bushes to conceal me. I ran more until I crouched down, I placed a hand over my mouth to muffle my panting. There was a beat of silence before I could hear the sound of twigs crunching beneath footsteps.
I inhaled, holding my breath,
The footsteps were nearby, slow and deliberate as they inched forward.
âWhere you goinâ, pretty girl?â Stackâs voice floated out of the dark, calm as everâbut low, dangerous at the edges now.
âThought we was gettinâ to know each other.â
I didnât risk raising my head to get a view of where he was exactly, I felt paralyzed with fear, The sound of footsteps seemed to get farther away until they eventually stopped altogether. An eerie silencing falling over the cotton fields.
I lowered my hand, my breaths shallow and shaky,
âBoo.â
I yelped in surprised as I heard a whisper, directly in my ear, breath fanning my skin. I leaped up to my feet, turning on my heel to prepare to run again. This time a pair of strong arms snaked around waist, dragging me back and against his chest.
Stack.
His arms were like an anchor, holding me tightly in place. I twisted in his hold, trying to slip away but it was futile. He leaned in, his head finding the crook of my neck. It tickled as his facial hair dusted my neck. He inhaled deeply, a guttural groan escaping his throat.
âDontâplease.â I choked out,
He raised a hand, turning my head to the side to meet his gaze. His eyes seemed even scarier out here in the darkness, two glowing eyes staring back at me. Lips curved in a smirk of amusement.
âOkay.â He breathed with a smile.
He released me, arms retracting from around me. I dropped to the ground with the swiftness of his movements, not prepared to support my own two legs. He crouched down to my level.
âIf you wanna run so bad, go head, Iâll even give you a headstart.â He promised.
âWhat?â I asked, confusion evident in my expression.
He blinked, the baritone in his voice lowering, âRun.â He repeated.
At that moment I watched in horror as his fangs extended. That was all it took for me to pull myself from the ground, turning on my heel and running as fast as I could. My vision seemed to blur as I ran. The cotton fields felt like running through a maze but I didnât let up. The noise of the world seemed to mute it itself, the only sound I could process was the wind whipping past my ears as I ran. My kitten heels were long gone, probably lost in my initial flee, so I ran barefoot. Feet caked into the moist soil as I ran.
IÂ glanced back once â a mistake.
I saw him: Stack stepping out of the shadows, unhurried, as if he had all the time in the world. His eyes caught the moonlight, glinting faintly gold. I ran harder, dress tangling around my legs. The hem caught on the brittle cotton stalks, tearing fabric and skin alike. The earth was rough underfoot: dry stalks scratching my ankles, cold dirt clinging to my soles. Sharp burrs bit into my skin, but I kept running.
Where was he?
I couldnât hear his footsteps â only my own ragged breathing, the crackle of cotton plants shifting in the night breeze. The moon above hung swollen and yellow, painting everything in silvered shadows.
My heartbeat roared in my ears, drowning out everything else. I spun around, chest heaving, peering between the pale blossoms. The stalks rattled softly in the breeze â or was that him moving?
âStack?â I whispered, voice shaking. My words fell dead among the cotton.
A branch snapped behind me.
I whirled, breath snagging in my chest. Empty.
Another rustle â closer this time, low to my right.
Then he was there.
Silent as a shadow, stepping out from the rows. Closer than I could have imagined. He moved faster than my eyes could track, closing the space between us in one stride. One hand shot out, gripping my wrist so hard it hurt. I tried to wrench free, but my limbs felt heavy. Like trying to run in a dream.
âShh..â He breathed, silencing my pleas with a hand over my mouth.
I twisted, nails raking down his arm, but he caught my other wrist, forcing me back against the cotton. Stalks crackled and bent under the shared weight of us, soft puffs falling to the ground.
âNuh uhâŚstop all that.â He said firmly, holding my arms at my sides tightly, forcing them to stay at my sides.
He used one hand to slide up my body, palm molding to the curve of my hip, tummy and over the swell of my breasts until his hand settled on my neck. Fingers wrapping around my throat, thumb resting directly over my windpipe. He squeezed gently, just enough to make me feel the supply of my air cut off for a moment.
I wanted to raise my arms and claw at his hands on my throat but I couldnât move.
He shushed me again, raising the hand on my throat to my scalp, his fingers tangling in my curls. He grabbed a chunk of my hair, pulling gently to force my neck to the side. His lips pressed a chaste kiss to the sensitive skin there. And another, peppering kisses all along my neck and jaw. His kisses were ticklish and slightly wet. I stiffened at the feeling of his fangs poking my skin, the slightest bit of pressure would have been enough for him to break skin.
âOnce I bite you, youâll see. Everything will make sense, I promise.â He whispered in my ear.
I twisted again, thrashing around in one last ditch effort. And thatâs when he did it.
He squeezed me tighter than before. Just as his fangs sank into my flesh. It felt like two knives piercing my skin, it made me freeze, I hissed sharply, sucking in a large gulp of air as I tried to push through the pain. It took me a moment, all I felt was pain. And currents of electricity that felt like it was shooting straight down my spine, beginning from where his teeth were burrowed deep into the flesh of my neck.
âAh..!â I winced, my back arching.
The pain subsided into a low burn, heat pooling in my abdomen. He sucked the blood from my neck, I could feel the pressure of the blood spilling from the puncture wounds. It made me feel queasy and lightheaded, dark spots freckling my vision. I could feel my body go slack in his arms, legs turning to jelly. He braced me against him securely, not letting me slip and fall. He released his hold on my neck, his teeth sliding out. I raised a hand to feel at my neck, drawing it back, eyes widening in horror as I looked at the blood that now painted my hand.
âI got you.â He said, his voice low and full of promise.
I could feel his tongue lapping at my neck, catching the blood that spilled, It also felt healing, easing the sharp pain on my neck as he did so. I brushed my hand over my neck again, feeling for the puncture wounds, but they were gone. Completely. The only thing left behind was a subtle burning sensation where he had bit me. I still felt woozy, and like the fire in my stomach was spreading outwards. Up my arms to the crown of my head, and down my legs to the balls of my feet. A tingling sensation. My eyes glossed over and I released a heavy sigh.
The sound of crickets chirping in the tall grass, and the pounding of his heart against my own were the only two sensations I could distinguish. My vision looked blurry, and my hands and feet felt numb and tingly. My toes curled, digging into the earth beneath me.
Without thinking, I leaned forward, pressing myself further into his chest. He welcomed me instantly, arms wrapping around me tightly. My own hands, moving slow and lethargically, found his hands, and I placed my palms flat against his.
âDo you feel that?â He asked, raising our palms.
I nodded, wordlessly.
Our connected palms felt like two magnets sticking to each other. And I felt a rush of emotion, contentment and awe perhaps.
âWhat is it?â I asked,
He interlaced our fingers, looking down at me with eyes that returned to their natural brown, âThe pull. It happens once Iâve fed from you. A soul tie, if you will.â
He tilted my head up further by the chin, leaning in and kissing me on the lips. I sighed into the kiss. His tongue slipping into my mouth, I could taste the copper of my blood still on his tongue. I kissed him back with equal passion, hesitantly at first. The more he kissed me the more feverish I became. Like there wasnât enough of him, or like heâd suddenly disappear right in front of me. My hands slid up his chest, resting against his pecs. He deepened the kiss, using his hands to slide down my body until he rested them on my ass, strong hands kneading the pillowy flesh there.
He pulled away, allowing me a moment to catch my breath. I felt stunned, still unsure that all this was real. I couldnât deny the feeling in my stomach, and the way my heart lurched forward when he kissed me, like it wanted to leap right out of my chest. I felt a gnawing feeling of hunger and desire budding in my core. It made me want to pull him back in and kiss him harder than before.
He leaned in, resting his forehead against mine, âAnd now youâre mine.â
âWhy me?â I questioned,
He hummed, âWhen I fed from Estelle, I saw her memories, I saw you.â he trailed,
âAnd I decided that I needed to have you. Needed to taste you.â He said.
His words hung in the air between us for a while. I was unsure of what to say, it all felt overwhelming. I felt like a confusing mix of emotions.
The pull, as he had called it, was strong and it made me want to stay like this forever, the sting on my neck now tingled with renewed desire. But my conscience was screaming at me, telling me this wasnât safe. Telling me to run.
âI wouldnât.â He interjected.
My eyes cut to him curiously, he pulled away just enough to look at me clearly, âI have your memories now, your thoughts, fears, and desires all belong to me. Even if you run again, youâll come back. Thatâs just how this works.â
As if to prove a point, he peeled himself away from me entirely, taking two steps back. My stomach twisted painfully at the loss of contact.
âCome.â He commanded.
And in an instant my feet were moving forward, towards him. I stopped when I collided with his chest. The knot in my stomach, detangling.
âSee? Doesnât giving into me completely feel good? You donât have to overthink anymoreâŚAll you have to do now is listen and obey.â
Hearing those words felt like vinegar in my head, but it also made my coochie jump a little.
He reached down, grabbing one of my thighs and hooking it around his waist, holding it there. His free hand held onto my throat. His lips crashed against mine again, tongue darting into my mouth. This kiss was different. Less gentle than before.
Using unnatural speed and strength he pushed me to the ground, his hand cradling my head to protect it. The soil of the dirt felt cool against my skin. He soon joined me, hovering above me, sandwiching himself between my thighs.
He kissed down my chest, stopping as he reached the hem of my dress. He yanked the front of it down, my breasts happily spilling out the front. My nipples almost immediately hardened at the cool air.
âFuckâŚthese pretty chocolate nipples.â He said, burying his face in my bosom.
He drew back and flicked his tongue over one of my hardened nipples, swirling it around the sensitive bud before sucking it into his mouth. I gasped, back arching into his touch. He released my nipple with a wet pop, blowing cool air over the stiff peak before moving to itâs twin, giving it the same attention.
My thighs clenched around his waist, hips raising to try and draw him in closer, searching for friction against my aching core. He chuckled darkly against my skin, making me shiver.
He hiked my dress up, exposing the flesh of my mahogany thighs. My slip was next. He didnât waste any time, yanking my panties down my legs in a hurry. Strong arms reached down to hook under my thighs, resting them over his shoulders. He inched down, looking up at me with glowing eyes as he dragged his fangs across the tender skin of my inner thigh. I propped myself up on my elbows to watch as he dived in, tongue flicking and circling my swollen bud with fervor. He flattened his tongue against my core, collecting the arousal at my entrance and back up. He kissed my clit before wrapping his thick lips around it, drawing the bundle of nerves into his mouth.
âA-Ah! Stack, itâsâŚtoo much..â I whined, squirming.
It was too much, and my thighs instinctively went to clamp shut, hands lowering to push his head away. Â His hands tightened around my thighs, chunky flesh spilling between his fingers as he forced me to stay put. The intense pleasure bordered on painful, and tears of overwhelm prickled at the corners of my eyes, but he didnât slow down or let up. He was merciless in his assault against my most sensitive region. And with a final cry out I came undone. My entrance clenched around nothing as I shook with release, juices flooding his mouth. He hummed against me, greedily drinking in my nectar.
By the time he pulled away, releasing my clit from the prison of his mouth I was a boneless, trembling mess beneath him. My body convulsed with the aftershocks of my orgasm.
He crawled back up my body, a wicked grin painted on his handsome features as he stared down at me. My chest rose and fell as I caught my breath.
âThat was so beautiful.â He purred, finger trailing down my sternum, âWatching you fall apart like that.â He pressed a kiss to my lips, swallowing my shallow breaths before pulling away to sit up.
I stared up at him through half-lidded eyes as his hands went to unfasten his belt, the metal of his buckle clinking. And with deliberate slowness he unzipped his fly, letting his thick, hard length spring free. It bobbed heavily, the thick shaft flushed a deep angry red and leaked precum from the swollen tip. He wrapped his hand around himself, giving his dick a slow stroke.
âLook at you, baby...â He huffed, his voice a low sensual rumble. âLaying there, blissed out and ready for me to ruin you properly.â
He licked his lips, eyes roaming over every inch of my curves as if he was trying to commit them to memory. He leaned forward, rubbing the leaking head of his dick up and down my slit, coating himself in my arousal.
âStackâŚâ I breathed out, voice ragged and desperate. I raised my hips off the ground, trying to encourage him to slide in.
He smirked, hands moving to still my hips, âTell me what you need babyâŚHow can I know if you donât talk to me?â He teased.
âYou already know..â I whined out of frustration,
It was true. The pull, as he called it, gave him access to my inner thoughts, and desires. He knew what I was asking for.
âTsk. Weâll work on your obedience later. But for now..â He trailed, the head of his cock poking my entrance.
And in one swift motion he sank into me, âIâll take care of you.â
His hips rolled into mine, he would pull out until just the head was left inside before snapping his hips into mine, plunging his length into me until the head kissed my cervix. His thick shaft throbbed and pulsed against my walls. My nails reached up to claw at his biceps, hard enough to leave crescent shaped indents.
âSo..fucking tight baby, you gripping my shit.â He groaned as he pushed one of my thighs back even further, the new angle of his thrusts allowing him to go deeper.
My moans had turned to gibberish, my mind too far gone with pleasure to form coherent words. My body shuddered and jerked with each powerful thrust of Stackâs hips, his thick cock slamming into me so forcefully that I slid up the dirt slightly with each impact. I could feel every inch of him stretching me out, claiming me. My breasts bounced with each thrust, the lewd sight making Stack growl in appreciation.
âFuuuckâŚthatâs it..I wanna see you cum all over this dick baby.â He said through gritted teeth, eyes zeroing in on my chest.
That was all it took to send me hurtling over the edge, walls clenching around his shaft like a vice as my orgasm knocked the wind out of me. My head fell back, eyes closing as I braced through my orgasm. My legs shook uncontrollably, my toes curling. I knew he wasnât far behind me. I could feel him twitch inside me. His grip on me tightened painfully and I winced, making me bite down on my bottom lip hard enough to draw blood. He leaned down, capturing me in a kiss, sucking on my bottom lip. And with a roar, he slammed into me one final time, thick seed spurting from his tip in long, hot ropes. He painted my fluttering walls white with his release, pumping me full to the brim.
Stack collapsed on top of me, his muscular body blanketing my frame as he rode out the aftershocks of his orgasm. He panted, chest heaving against mine as he caught his breath. We stayed like that for a moment, locked together in our intimate embrace. Stackâs softening dick remained nestled inside of me, plugging me up and keeping his seed trapped inside.
He leaned down, crashing his lips against mine. His kisses traveled across the length of my jaw and down my neck,
âYouâre mine now, you know that right?â
His words settled in my bones, hot and cold all at once. I didnât know if I wanted to run, or to belong.

dry humping with smoke! dry humping with smoke! dry humping with smoke! dry humping with smoke!
a littl modern reference! but the interpretation is up to u :3 + dumbifiaction, puppy!reader & daddy kink if u squint IDK.. đ
he has no business being in your room, he has no business fooling around with you but yet here you are on top of him letting out sweet sounds. "yeah, ma? that feels good doesn't it?" he says so sweetly with a hand pressed up against your cheek.
this man is twice your age and how you two got like this is between the four walls of your bedroom, moonshine and the devil but if you want the simpler version, you had your eyes on smoke since you caught wind him and his brother returned back to town.
with smoke you'd always steal little glances, sweeten your words a little more and flutter your eyelashes, do anything to make him see you and that he did.
your clad cotton underwear clinging to your cunt so tightly that smoke can see the wet patch forming and the sight makes his cock twitch in his pants.
your whines are divine, soft little shutters of breath and pants. his hand finds the back of your neck and pulls you down, slipping your tongue into his mouth causing him to land his palm against your ass so hard that the action cause you to jump forward a little. âbe good, take whatâs given to you.â stern, like a father scolding his child for misbehaving.
âyes, sirâ you break away from the kiss, sitting up ontop his lap. your a sight for sore eyes, curls disheveled some pieces pulled loose from the puff you had in. your lips, swollen; glistening with spit. his prefect little angel.
you run your hands against his arms, reaching his biceps. you can feel his strength underneath him, how he can just put you into in position he pleased whenever but he didnât need too. not when he already has control over you.
âwhichu thinkin bout, hm?â his voice makes you rut your hips up. its so easy to get you like this. âyou thinkin bout where my dick is gonna reach inside you?â you beg this time, leaning down and kissing the nape of his neck âplease daddy, i will be good, u wont even have to do the work!â desperate as one can be.
so smoke nods, unzipping his pants, kicking them and his underwear off, he slips your underwear to the side seeing your cunt glistening under the warm ambient lighting, âfuck girl. your tryna kill me huh?â he takes his finger and guides it through your folds, a line of precum presents itself. he smears it on the base and tip of his cock.
he guides your hips over his length, slotting it in between you. âyou ready baby?â he says it softly, you nod your head while looking at him with big doe eyes. you start moving your hip and down, his mushroom tip bumping your clit. you can hear the sounds you two make when you slide back and forth, its flithy.
âwann kiss, gimmie kissâ you pant, already worked up from amateur movements. âso fucking bossy, can never ask daddy nicely. always, want, want.â he mocks you while speeding your hips up. you lean back down, chest no pressed against his, your mouth sloppyly connects with his. you feel your toes tingling, you start fucking drooling, spit seeping out from the sides of your mouth, smoke pulls away ânasty fucking, bitch.â your head drops to his shoulder, your crying. âit feels soso good sir, daddy psleaseâ your slurring your words, and thats when smoke knows your far gone.
âyeah, baby? daddys got you, donât worry about nothing else. just let daddy take care of his pretty puppyâ
i wonder what Stack is like during sex. Rougher, deeper, meaner. The kind of man who doesnât ask... just takes. (18+, MINORS DNI) Masterlist Here Discord link Here
heâs got your wrists pinned above your head with one hand, the other gripping your ass. his voice is a growl right up against your ear, hot breath coating your skin.
âyou knew what you were doinâ, wearinâ that little dress,â he mutters, hips slamming into you so hard the headboard slams the wall. âwanted me riled up, huh? well, now you got it.â
you can barely breathe. each thrust is painful, almost punishing. you arch, moan, claw at the sheets.
âstackââ
âsay it right,â he bites down on your shoulder. âsay my name like you need it.â
âstack,â you gasp, broken. âfuck, Stack, please.â
He pulls your leg higher around his waist, fucking deeper. your back bows. pleasure coils low in your belly, threatening to snap. his thumb drags over your clit in tight, rough circles, and itâs almost too much.
âi said please,â you whimper.
âand I said I ainât done.â his eyes are sharp, hungry, eating you alive as he watches your fucked out body beneath him. âyouâre gonna take every fuckinâ drop I give you, girl. every inch. every damn time.â
you donât know where you end and he begins. thereâs sweat, teeth, breath, bruises blooming on your hips. he flips you over like itâs nothing, hand on your spine, pressing you down.
âlook at you,â he mutters behind you. âback arched like you lovin' this shit.â
and when he finally lets go, when he grabs your hips and slams in so hard your breath gets knocked out, you cum with a cry that echoes in the dim room, raw and wrecked.
he groans, low and deep, spilling into you like heâs been holding it back for years. his weight drops against your back, chest heaving.
a beat passes. Then:
âdonât go thinkinâ this was just tonight,â he says into your neck, lips brushing your skin. ânext time, Iâm takinâ my time with you. gonna make you beg for it slow.â
Summary: the SmokeâStack Twins are rising to the heights of the southern gangway after murdering an OG they worked for in Clarksdale. The Twins decided to rob a known bank in Arkansas, and things turn bloody. Meanwhile, Smokeâs new wife, Annie, is left wondering when her husband will return home. She knows heâs safe, but his criminal behavior already put him in jail for seven years! Sheâs sick and tired of it! Ainât no pearls and bags of money enough to make her happy.
Part One
Annie was born into a line of powerful women. Her grandmother, Miss Letha, was known in Baton Rouge as a midwife and seer. Her mother, Celestine Moreau, was a traveling healer and conjure woman, moving through the river towns and Deep South communities offering her skills. Celestine didnât just pass down toolsâshe passed down the memory of power, oral traditions, and spirit-led work.
Annie learned rootwork in childhood, helping grind herbs, fold petitions, tend crossroads altars, and gather graveyard dirt respectfully. After her mother died when Annie was in her late teens, Annie traveled for several years, learning from different practitioners in Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. She returned seasoned, powerful, and reveredâa woman people now call âpriestess,â though Annie doesnât claim the title herself.
Smoke is Annieâs first.
Not just sexuallyâbut spiritually tied. She grew up watching him from a distance, knowing he was dangerous and fine and not meant for her, until one day he became hers anyway.
Their love is carved in survival and fire. She held him when he came back from war, shaking and hollow. When the world felt like ash in his mouth, she was the one who reminded him how to breathe again.
Smoke had his twin brother, Stackâblood, bone, ride-or-die.
But Annie?
She was the home he came back to.
The place no man, no battlefield, no ghost could take from him.
Their bond runs deep but not smooth. They fight. A lot. But every word flung is a tether. Every wound bleeds red, but it binds them tighter.
âI hate how much I love you.â
âThen love me harder.â
Annie knew Elijah Moore before he became Smoke. Before the war, before the blood, before the prison. She knew him when they were both just poor Black Southern kids, raised hard and fast, picking cotton under the sun, running wild in the same dirt fields.
He had that quiet fire even thenâthe kind of stare that made grown men nervous, and women lean closer without knowing why.
She loved him before he had anything.
Before the guns.
Before the name.
Before the ghosts.
They married before he went away, ensuring to remain bound. Heâd kissed her hand in the sugarcane rows and whispered:
âYou wait for me, Annie. Iâll come back different.â
Elijah and Elias got locked up in 1925 for robbing a bootlegger, pistol-whipping him, and stealing crates of liquor meant for white hands only. They were twenty-five. Poor. Desperate. Tired of being broke and owned.
Annie had lost hope.
They went down for seven yearsâhard labor, chain gang, Red River stone quarries. The prison work that killed men slowly.
But Annie never stopped waiting.
And she didnât just wait, she worked. To get that hope back. Even when she felt their love slipping through the floorboards beneath her feet.
She lit candles every Thursday. The day they were sentenced.
She made him a mojo bag and kept them in her drawer, feeding them with oil, tears, and blood on the new moon.
She buried a lock of Elijahâs hair in her backyard, tied to a coffin nail and a red thread, chanting:
âHe ainât gonâ break. He ainât gonâ bow.
My manâs cominâ back whole somehow.â
She paid conjure women from Memphis for bone dust, war water, and secret psalms. She left food at crossroads. She carried the burden of belief every time no letter came, no word arrived.
And when she dreamed of blood, sheâd burn sulfur and scream his name at the river.
âDonât you die in that place, Elijah Moore. You donât leave me here in this world alone.â
When the twins stepped off that prison bus, Annie could sense a change. Especially in Elijah. He was still her man, but he wasnât the same.
He smiled when he saw her. He kissed her like nothing else mattered. But his eyes were sharper. His hands twitched more. He slept with a revolver under the mattress and didnât talk about the nights he didnât sleep at all.
He was happy to be free, yes.
But he was hungryânot just for her body, but for power.
âI ainât goinâ back to the fields,â he said, âAinât breakinâ my back for pennies while somebody else eats.â
She understood. She did.
But she felt it, tooâsomething new growing in him. Something wild. Something cold.
Smoke refused to return to sharecropping. He didnât give a damn about quotas.
âI did time already. I ainât gonâ do no more for a white man with a whip made of math.â
Heâd rather run numbers. Hustle dice. Take money instead of beg for it.
And Stack?
Stack was the dreamer. The smooth talker. The one whoâd sit on the porch at sundown and say:
âWe could be kings, Eli. Iâm talkinâ juke joints, backroom whiskey, heat in our pockets. We donât gotta stay broke. We just gotta be bold.â
Smoke believed him.
And Annie?
She saw the road rising ahead of them like a snake stretched out in sunlight.
As their lives turned sharper, Annieâs magic deepened.
She started pulling cards more often.
Worked candle divinations.
Slept with a bowl of water at her bedside to catch visions.
She saw Smokeâs shadow stretching too far. She saw Stackâs eyes turning toward her in moments he didnât mean to. Her own face, caught between love and sacrifice.
She asked the spirits, âCan I keep him safe and still love him right?â
They answered only with smoke and silence.
Smoke began to believe that money was the only real magic.
âAinât no root in the world stronger than a fistful of green,â he argued, âMoney make men live longer. Make cops look away. Make white folks call you âsir.ââ
âBut I do,â she whispered, âMe and the spirits.â
And so began the quiet riftânot a betrayal, but a difference in faith.
Smoke chased control.
Annie conjured protection.
They loved each other with their whole bodies. But they were walking parallel paths, barely keeping touch at the fingertips.
The OG: Clifton âCleveâ Ray.
Born in 1882 in the swamps near Yazoo, Mississippi. His mother was a seamstress. His father, a violent gambler who vanished after a card game gone bad. Cleve grew up in juke joints and gambling houses, running whiskey before he could shave. He watched white bootleggers get rich and vowed to carve his own piece of the underworld, no matter the blood price.
Came to Clarksdale in his twenties. Cleve started small. Dice games in alleys, cheap moonshine in tin cups, a stolen pistol under his coat. By 1915, he had three businesses laundering his income, two women fronting brothels for him, and lawmen on his payroll.
âRule one,â he told his men, âDonât get caught without money for bail. Rule two: Donât get caught twice.â
He earned the name âCleveâ from how he âcleavedâ his enemies: split men open with his switchblade before he could afford a gun.
Cleve wasnât flashy. He was strategic and calculating.
When Prohibition hit, he expanded his territory. Speakeasies, bootlegging routes, moonshine stills out in Lyon and Rosedale. Had a silver-handled cane he took off a white banker he pistol-whipped after the man tried to short him on a real estate deal. Kept it ever since. He survived gang wars with rival crews in Memphis and Greenville by outsmarting, not outgunning. Paid conjure women for luck. Hired thugs for everything else.
âI ainât spiritual, but I donât play with spirits.â
Cleve first heard of the Moore boys while they were still in prison.
Word came through his contacts. Two brothers, sharp as blades, fresh from a seven-year stretch for robbing a bootlegger. When they were released, he kept tabs on them. Watched how Smoke moved in silence, and Stack smiled like sin and gold.
Their first interaction came at one of Cleveâs backroom dice games. Stack cleaned the table with loaded charm. Smoke stayed near the door, back to the wall, watching everything. When one of Cleveâs men accused Stack of cheating, Smoke broke the manâs wrist in a single move.
Cleve just laughed.
âThat kind of loyaltyâs hard to come by. You young bloods lookinâ for work?â
He offered them muscle and money. Said heâd teach them the game if they kept their heads down. Gave Stack a job running books and ledgers, laundering Cleveâs bootlegging profits through a dry goods store. Gave Smoke control over collections and enforcement âhis âleft handâ as he called it.
âI made this town,â Cleve spat egotistical, âIâm lookinâ for the ones whoâll inherit it after Iâm dead. Not before.â
But it was a lie.
Cleve never intended to share his throne. He believed the twins were toolsâyoung, hungry, and eager. Replaceable.
He underestimated them both.
Stack started getting too slick with the numbers. Made side deals. Took meetings Cleve didnât authorize. Smoke started earning a reputation of his ownâ feared, admired. Even the police spoke his name in whispers. Worst of all: a woman. A young, light-skinned Black girl Cleve kept as both his mistress and his prisoner. Annie never knew herâbut Smoke saw her.
One night, Smoke helped her escape. Gave her train fare and told her to run fast and far.
Cleve found out days later. Didnât say a word.
But his smile soured.
Cleve sent the boys to âhandle a jobââcollect from a man who owed him for crates of shine. But it was a trap. The man was already dead. Blood on the walls. A planted pistol with Smokeâs fingerprints. If the law got there first, Smoke would hang.
They left fast.
âYou feel that?â Stack asked, âThat was a funeral Cleve just wrote for us.â
Smoke said nothing. Just clenched his fists and lit a cigarette.
That night, they cleaned their guns, and they donât wait.
The next night, they show up at Cleveâs juke joint like nothingâs wrongâdressed sharp, clean, cool.
Stack buys drinks. Laughs with the musicians. Smiles at the bartender.
Smoke disappears into the back with Cleve, supposedly to talk business.
Five minutes later, a single gunshot cracks through the music.
He died the way he lived: with a smirk on his lips and a hole in his chest.
âYou boys think you runninâ this town?â he gasped before he bled out.
Smoke leaned close, voice cold.
âWe donât think. We know.â
When Stack pushes through the door, he finds Smoke standing over Cleveâs body â the silver cane in one hand, the bloody pistol in the other.
âHe was gonna kill us,â Smoke says simply, âSo I killed him first.â
âYou sure?â Stack asks.
âAinât gotta be sure. Just gotta live.â
They dump Cleveâs body in the riverâcut his face, so no one can ID it too fast.
They take his books, his contacts, his stash. Some of Cleveâs men stay loyal out of fear. Others vanish. The Moore twins move fastâclean up the mess, take over the rackets, and quiet the town with violence.
But Stack knows somethingâs shifting in Smoke.
Heâs not just hungry now. Heâs blood-fed.
Cleveâs death didnât just make space, it created monsters. The Moore twins took the empire, but the violence it took to get it never left them.
And Cleve? His name still hangs over Clarksdale like a ghostly whisper.
Some say his ghost haunts the juke joint they killed him in.
Some say he left a buried stash no oneâs found.
Some say he watches from Hell, proud as hellfire of the boys who took his crown.
Meanwhile, Annie feels all of it.
The moment Cleve dies, her altar goes cold. She dreams of smoke, blood, and fire on the riverbank. When Smoke comes home afterwardâsilent, lips tight, jaw twitchingâshe knows somethingâs endedâŚand something worse has begun.
She works a ritual that night, alone in the kitchen.
âDonât let my man get drunk on blood. Donât let him turn into the thing heâs fightinâ.â
But the spirits whisper.
You ainât just holdinâ him. You feedinâ him. You love the fire tooâŚ
Even with Cleveâs operation in their hands, they need real capital to grow, to pay bribes, arm up, expand beyond Clarksdale.
Stack says it first.
âWe get in, get out. Arkansas bank. Payroll day. No oneâs expectinâ us.â
Smoke doesnât blink.
âLong as I get to pull the trigger if someone flinches.â
Stack studies his brother a long time.
âYou gonna like this too much.â Stack said.
âAlready do.â Smoke replied.
August 1932. First National Bank. Little Rock, Arkansas.
The countryâs neck-deep in the Depression. Banks are failing. Working folks are desperate.
Stack got the location and routine from a woman he seducedâa teller who worked the early shift. He charmed her, watched her movements, and learned the layout. The Plan: Hit the bank just after closing on a Friday. Fewer people, limited staff. Theyâd come in from out of town dressed as a traveling jazz duo: Stack with his guitar, Smoke carrying a horn case loaded with weapons.
The black Ford Coupe rumbled into Little Rock just past noon, heat shimmering off the pavement. Inside, Elijah âSmokeâ Moore lit a cigarette off the car lighter, dark shades over his eyes, jaw tight. Beside him, Elias âStackâ Moore adjusted his cuffs and checked his reflection in the mirror, smoothing his hair back into place.
âYou ready?â Stack asked, voice smooth as a psalm.
âAlways,â Smoke replied, blowing a thin stream of smoke through his nose.
They pulled around the side of First National Bank, nestled between a tailor and a tobacco shop downtown. Stack climbed out first, dressed like a traveling bluesmanâdouble-breasted linen suit, guitar case slung over his back. He didnât give his twin a backwards glance, wanting to get this shit going to avoid getting caught. Stack entered the bank and he tipped his hat at the pretty clerk inside, flashing gold-capped teeth.
âAfternoon, sweetheart. Yâall still takinâ deposits from the Lordâs musicians?â
The teller giggled. He always had a way of making women forget their job. As she chatted him up, Stackâs eyes danced around the lobby. He clocked two guards, an old white banker in the glass office, a sleepy-looking manager, and just three civilians.
Exactly what the girl had described.
Outside, Smoke exited the car with a horn case slung at his side. Not a note of music insideâjust a sawed-off shotgun, two pistols, and a soft velvet bag for the cash.
He stepped inside and locked the door behind him.
âAinât no music today,â he growled. âJust business.â
The guards reached, but Smoke moved faster, shotgun raised.
BOOM!
One caught a blast to the shoulder, sent spinning into the marble wall. The other froze, dropped his weapon.
Stack pulled his pistol from his jacket and pointed it at the managerâs head.
âDonât be stupid. We donât want your blood. Just your goddamn money.â
Smoke hurled a satchel over the teller counter.
âFill it. Big bills. No tricks.â
The room fell silent except for the shaky rustle of money being packed into bags.
The vault openedâa stroke of luck, or fear. Inside:
$42,000 in cash. A lockbox of private jewelry, heirloom wedding sets, pearls, uncut stones. Two gold watches, war bonds, silver dollars. Stack lifted a silver cigarette case with engraved initials and smirked.
âSomebodyâs daddy gonâ miss this.â
Smoke tossed in a handful of rings and chains, then moved to the front doorâwatching.
âTwo minutes,â he barked, âClockâs runninâ.â
A new face emergedâa rookie guard, young and dumb, probably just stepped out of the back.
âFreeze!â
He raised a revolver and fired. The bullet clipped Stackâs shoulderânot deep, but enough to piss him off.
Smoke turned and fired onceâclean and fast. The guard dropped like a bag of rocks, head against the tellerâs counter, blood already spreading across the floor.
âFuck,â Stack hissed, clutching his shoulder.
Blood seeped between his thick fingers. He hissed with pain and a furrow of his sweaty brows.
âHe moved first,â Smoke muttered, âHe chose.â
The mood shifted. The civilians whimpered. The banker pissed himself.
âWe done here,â Smoke snapped, âLoad it up.â
Smoke snatched the bag full of the stolen goods, finding it heavier than he expected. Stack glanced over at the Bank Teller, winking at her before rushing out the door behind his twin.
They burst out the back, climbed into the Coupe, and peeled off down 7th Street, tires shrieking.
They didnât speed at first. Stack insisted on blending in until they hit the outskirts. Once clear of town, Smoke floored it, roaring through the backroads of Arkansas, headed toward Mississippi.
Little Rock to Helena then they crossed the Mississippi River, straight Into Clarksdale by backroads.
They burned their clothes behind an old shack near Tunica, tossed the horn case into the river. Stackâs shoulder was bandaged in silence. Smoke didnât say muchâjust kept stroking the mojo bag Annie gave him, the weight of blood settling in his chest.
âWe did it,â Stack said finally, exhaling.
âYeah,â Smoke replied, âAinât nobody gonâ stop us now.â
The shack outside Tunica reeked of mildew, soot, and sin. The inside was lit only by the golden hush of late afternoon. Dust floated thick in the still air. Stack sat shirtless on an overturned crate, teeth gritted, a clean bullet hole in his upper shoulder. Not deep. Not fatal. But it burned like hell.
He poured moonshine over it and hissed through his teeth.
âSon of a bitch got lucky. Shoulda aimed lower. Mightâve earned himself another breath.â
Smoke didnât answer. He was pacing the length of the room, gun still clutched in his hand, knuckles bared. His shirt was streaked with bloodânot his ownâand his eyes were somewhere else.
âYou hear me?â Stack called, âI said Iâm fine.â
Smoke didnât stop pacing. Just grunted.
Stack pulled the bandage tighter, hissing again. He watched his twin from beneath furrowed brows.
âYou still mad about the kid?â
Smoke stopped. Looked up. His jaw was clenched, the cigarette dangling from his lips barely smoked.
âHe raised his gun,â Smoke said flatly.
âI ainât sayinâ you was wrong,â Stack replied, âIâm sayinâ you liked it.â
A beat passed. Smokeâs jaw ticked.
âYou ainât never killed someone and felt a piece of yourself go quiet? Like you donât hear the guilt, just the silence after?â
Smoke looked at him thenâreally looked. And something flickered behind his eyes. Not regret. Not remorse.
âNo,â he said, voice low, âWhen I kill, I feel alive.â
Stack leaned back, eyes narrowed.
âThatâs what scares me.â
Smoke flicked his cigarette out. Turned away. Began peeling off his blood-soaked shirt.
âDonât get soft on me now.â
âAinât soft,â Stack spoke, âI just ainât ready to burn up with you.â
They didnât speak again. The silence between them wasnât peace. It was weight. Blood. The slow slide toward a line they wouldnât be able to uncross.
Annie sits in the living room of their Delta cottage as dusk settles in, the blues of the evening sky filtering through lace curtains. The quiet is thick and quiet enough that she can hear a cicadaâs buzz deep in the swamp. She settles into a straight-backed chair by the fireplace, her hands wrapped around a tin cup of bittersweet tea flavored with moonflower and honeysuckle. The room hums with roots such as ginger, cedar, and willow, bursting from jars plus the scent of amber and tobacco smoke sheâs kept simmering in a small iron bowl.
Years of rootwork have tuned her senses to her husband Elijah and his brother Elias. As she takes a slow sip, she closes her eyes, sinking into a trance. Her breath lengthens, her nostrils flare, and she inhales deeply into the aroma of cedar and smoke. The essence of their presence lives here, in the air she breathed when they were home, the dim corners where they exchanged silent glances, the old oak floorboards that still carry the echo of their boots.
She reaches for a small oyster shell on the table, tracing its edge, and sprinkles a mix of honey, fine ash, and valerian root from a small glass phial. It smolders and curls into smoke. With each rising wisp, she whispers their names.
âElijahâŚEliasâŚâ Her voice is soft, barely more than a wind through reeds, âWhere are you now? Are you safe?â
In her mindâs eye, she sees two silhouettes creeping low through a moonlit field. Elijahâs broad shoulders leading the way while Elias glided not too far behind. The smoke in the room thickens, shifting like fog on the water. Creepily. Annie watched the swirling vapor, feeling every beat of their hearts, every calculated step, the sound of gunmetal in their fists echoing in her chest. Heavy. Exhausting.
She breathes in their heartbeat, feeling its steady rhythm, not frantic. That alone tells her they made it back, that theyâre together and safeâŚfor now. A wave of relief floods her, followed by gratitude and a sharp sting of pride. Theyâd planned this bank job for weeks, sheâd helped them in her own way, crossing their paths with root-barns and honey-jars to dull suspicion, layering spells to keep luck on their side.
The room empties of tension, and for a moment, memory and flame flicker across the walls. The risk, the adrenaline, all of it melted away, and yet the ache for Elijah is fresh and raw. She stands, sets the cup down, and moves to the front window. In the distance, the old bayou whispers secrets against the hush of her house.
She whispers again, a blessing this time, brushing a single, feather-soft dandelion seed across the sill. She knows theyâll find it when they cross the threshold, her silent signal that she felt them home. That she carried them in her bones.
And just like that, she waits. Sheâs attentive, full of love and lingering fear, but anchored by one unshakeable truth.
theyâre alive, theyâre together, and in her place of roots and spells, she held them safe.
But then something else stirred within her.
Suddenly, her breath stills. Annieâs hands hover midair, eyes half-lidded. She feels it. That tug. That ache of longing. Itâs not on her dress. Not on her skin. It burns deeply, right between her ribs. Like someoneâs trying to call her by name but canât speak.
Her lips part, slowly, âHe thinkinâ on meâŚâ
She walks to the front porch, standing in the doorway, moonlight draping her like a second skin. Her hips shift, her hand rests just above her belly, and she closes her eyes. The connection flares again. Itâs searing hot and steady. Annie knows in her mindâs eye that Elijahâs holding something of hers. Probably that folded black and white photograph with a permanent crease in the center that she gave him the night before his last run, her laughing in her garden, a headscarf tied up high, lips painted beet red. Or maybe itâs more than that.
Something more salacious.
A pair of her bloomers. All silk, soft, still faintly holding her scent or a little strip of textured paper with her name written in his hand, three times over, blood pricked on the corner. Sometimes, when heâs alone, holed up after a job, Smokeâll light a cigarette and pull out that keepsake bundle. Heâll press her panties to his face, eyes closed, breathing her in deep like sheâs gospel and ghost. His hands would shake, not from fear, but want. Ached-up longing. Deep desire. He canât be away from Annie for too long. It makes him primal. Animalistic.
Each time he touches those things, especially the mojo bag or her panties, Annie feels it. Itâs in the curl of her spine. The warmth that spreads low in her belly. The way her heart skips a beat just before the wind kicks up out of nowhere. Sometimes sheâll hum a tune she doesnât remember choosing. Sometimes her nipples harden without cause.
Sometimes she stands in the garden, barefoot in the dirt, and whispers soft and strong, âCome home to me, Smoke.â
And somewhere out there many miles away, he shifts in his seat or where he stands, rubbing the pouch and swears he can smell jasmine on the air. Because love like theirs? It donât fade. Not when itâs rooted in hoodoo, blood, and breath.
Tunica was a rural areaâmostly cotton fields, juke joints, dirt roads, and poverty, but also rich with blues culture and river trade. It sat in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, soaked in the same heat, ghosts, and gospel Annie knows. Folks might pass through there on the run, looking for work, laying low, or meeting with dangerous people under cover of night.
Fifty miles north of Clarksdale, the house ainât much. Itâs just one long room, patched with old boards, walls damp with river air and regret. A crooked screen door hangs open to the wind. Smoke sits on the edge of a thin mattress, elbows on his knees, his whole body humming with restlessness. Stack is in a different room, sleeping off the exhaustion of hiding out.
A single bare bulb swings overhead, casting shadows across his face like ghosts still lingerinâ. His suit jacket hangs from a nail by the door, dripping wet from river water. Heâs peeled off everything else but his slacks, sweat slicking his chest, the scent of blackpowder and steel still clinging to his skin.
Laid out in front of him are a bundle of keepsakes, careful as scripture. A pair of Annieâs bloomers, soft, silken, folded like a prayer. A photo of her, creased at the corners and the center, worn thin from being touched too often. Her smile in the picture got sunlight in it. Sheâs barefoot, garden behind her, one hand on her hip like she owns the whole damn world. Smoke picks up the bloomers first. Brings âem to his face. Inhales.
Lavender. Honey. All Annie.
His fingers tremble. He ainât afraid of no lawman, no devil in the swamp. But that feeling in his chest? Thatâs different. Thatâs missing her so bad it makes his ribs ache. He leans back, lays flat. One arm drapes across his forehead. The other clutches the mojo bag around his neck, stitched by Annie herself.
Inside that bag is dirt from under their bed, her hair twined with his, dried violet, his name written in red ink three times. Bound magic. Bound love. And he can feel it now. He can feel her. His woman. His wife. Not just memory. Not just longing. Her spirit presses against him like warm breath on his skin.
âYou callinâ me, baby?â Smoke whispered low and hoarse.
He swears he hears her hum, all soft like she do when sheâs makinâ salve or sweepinâ the front porch at sundown. He closes his eyes, and there she is in his mind, standing under their magnolia tree, arms crossed under her heavy breasts, lips pursed and sheened with lemon balm.
Then her voice, whispered and bold, drifts into the stillness all distant and aching.
Come home to me, SmokeâŚ
He jolts upright, heart slamminâ like a drum. That wasnât just his imagination. That was her spirit hand reachinâ through miles of swamp and field, tugging on his chest. He grabs the bloomers, kisses them rough, almost angry.
His voice cracked, âYou got me out here losinâ my damn mind, woman.â
He presses her photo to his lips next. Then tucks both deep into the inner pocket of his suit jacket like something sacred. Heavy rain pellets hit harder outside. The wind whistles low through the cracks in the boards. He reaches for his pistol, checking the chamber out of habit, not fear. Ainât no ghost or man could touch him while he carries her.
âIâm cominâ, Annie. I ainât stayinâ out here no more.â He spoke in a hushed voice soft and steady with a deep rasp.
Smoke lights a blunt with shaking hands, watching the smoke curl up like her scent might ride it all the way back to Clarksdale. Every breath he draws tastes like memory. He stays up the rest of the night, eyes wide, waiting for dawn and the road to carry him home to their porch, her blade, her hips, her arms.
All of it.
The screen door creaks as Annie steps out, her hands dusted with flour, apron tied snug around her waist. Morning light breaks across the field, gold and pink streaking the sky like bruises healing.
She sees them coming up the dirt road in Stackâs carâtwo dark silhouettes against the mist. The car rolls to a stop beneath the dirt of The Delta, and then they both open their doors in unison. Elijah walks steady, but his eyes are tired. EliasâStackâhas a hand clutched tight to his upper arm, a dark smear running through his shirt sleeve.
Annieâs heart kicks in her chest.
They make it to the porch before either speaks. Elijahâs taller in this light, jaw clenched. Stack is limping slightly, face unreadable behind those sharp cheekbones and shadowed eyes.
Annie spoke stern but soft, âYâall look like hell froze over and spit you back out.â
Stack grunted, âAinât far off.â
Smoke was quiet for a beat, then he parted his lips to speak with a low rasp.
âWe made it home.â
She steps forward, holding the screen open with one arm. They cross the threshold like weary soldiers, boots tracking in Delta mud.
Smoke kisses her firstâslow, deliberate. His lips land on her cheek but linger far too long, the corner of his mouth sliding near hers like he forgot where it was supposed to stop.
Annie stood half-smiling, pushing at his chest.
âBoy, donât be actinâ needy soon as you cross my porch.â
Then Stack leans in, brushes her opposite cheek with rough lipsâshorter, less weight to it.
âThank you, Annie.â
She studies the blood on his sleeve, her smile fading. She places her hands on her hips, eyes sharp.
âElijah Moore, you gonâ let your brother bleed out so you can get handsy?â
Smoke grinned low, âAinât like he dyinâ. Itâs a graze. Man caught a whisper of a bullet, and now I canât even kiss on my wife?â
âYour what?â Annie sassed.
âYou mine, Annie. You know that.â He whispered.
Annie narrows her eyes. The air between them tightens. She pulls Stack gently by the elbow and guides him to the kitchen table.
âSit down âfore I tie you to the chair myself.â
Stack smirked through the pain. Annie removed her apron, nothing but a fitted haint blue dress underneath that left little to the imagination. She could feel Smokeâs eyes burning a hole into the back of her head.
âThat supposed to be a threat or a promise?â
âHush. Ainât got time for neither.â Annie said.
She moves fastâpulling out a jar of pine gum salve, a tin of cayenne soaked in vinegar, and clean cloth. Smoke leans against the wall, arms crossed, watching her every move. Heâs itching, twitching. His fingers run along the edge of the table, eyes glued to her hips as she leans over Stack.
She rips the sleeve with a practiced motion. Stack winces.
âMmhm. Just a graze, but yâall always act like you done fought the war again.â
He spoke low and rough, âAinât fought no war, but I fought the devil himself to get back here.â
Annie doesnât answer. Just wipes blood, applies salve, wraps Stack tight. But her movements slow when Smoke steps behind her, hands grazing her waist. His fingers slide around her hips, thumbs brushing the curve of her hips. His mouth dips close to her ear.
Smoke spoke, voice husky, âBeen thinkinâ âbout your skin every night. Smellinâ you in my dreams. Had your bloomers in my damn pocket like a fool.â
Stack snorts behind them, shaking his head.
âLord. Iâll leave yâall two alone âfore this kitchen catch fire.â
Annie turns just as Smokeâs lips brush her neck. She slaps his handâfirm but not unkind.
Smoke wouldnât move. He buried his face in her neck, inhaling deep. Annie chewed on her bottom lip to fight the tremble that fought to break through.
Annie elbowed him, âHe still bleedinâ, fool.â
Smoke growled, not backing off, âThen let him bleed outside. Iâm tryna taste whatâs mine.â
Annie looks over her shoulder, chin lifted, a slow smile pulling at her mouth.
âYou taste me after you sweep this mess and clean your brotherâs blood off my floor.â
Stack stands, nodding once.
âThank you, Annie. You a good woman. Smoke, Iâma bow out. Iâll catch you later. I need a bath and my bed.â
He leaves without another word, the screen door clattering shut behind him.
Now itâs just them. Smoke steps in closer, arms sliding around her waist from behind. She leans into him, just for a second, then pulls away, smirking.
âDonât think just âcause I missed you Iâm gonna make it easy.â
Smoke spoke low, âI donât want it easy.â
She turns to face him, and the heat between them ignites like the kindling of old sin and older love. Her hands rest on his chest, his heartbeat pounding like itâs tryna tell her something true.
âThen close the door, Elijah.â
And he doesâslow, like heâs sealing in something sacred.
Annie stands with her back to the table, arms folded tight under her breasts, lips pursed. Her eyes lock on Smoke, who stands there like he owns the air sheâs breathing.
He starts to speak, but she cuts him off with a hand in the air.
âDonât even open that mouth, Elijah Moore.â Annie spoke low and sharp.
Smoke grinned, âAinât even said nothinâ yet.â
âAnd you donât need to. âCause I already know how it go. You vanish for two nights. You come back slick with sin and smellinâ like gunpowder. Got your brother damn near shot, and you lookinâ at me like Iâm supposed to fall in your arms just âcause you brought your fine ass home in one piece.â
He doesnât move. Just lets her talk. Letâs her feel it.
Annie spoke, voice rising, âI waited, Smoke. I sat up every night, watchinâ that road, fingers itchinâ for that blade, heart poundinâ like it was gonna give out. You out here makinâ moves and leavinâ me in the dark.â
Smoke spoke slow and low, âYou done?â
âNo, I ainât done. You donât get to disappear and then think you can just roll up, kiss on me, andââ
He crosses the space in two strides, grabbing her face in his palmsârough and warmâand tilts her chin up, forcing her to look at him.
He spoke, voice like thunder, âHush all that gahdamn complaininâ, woman.â
Annieâs breath hitches. Heâs so close she can smell herself on himâhow long heâs carried her scent. The pulse between her thighs throbs against her will.
âI know you mad. You got every right. But I ainât out there chasinâ nothinâ that donât belong to us. Every risk I take, every mile I runâitâs for you. For this house. For that fire in your eyes thatâs burninâ me up right now.â
She tries to pull back, but his grip tightensânot enough to hurt, just enough to hold.
He continued, voice dipped in honey and iron, âI need you, Annie. Not just your mouth. Not just your hips. I need that peace you carry in your chest and that hell you stir in my bed. So go âhead and fuss. Let it out. But when you done? You gonâ come over hereâŚâ His hands slide down to her waist, pulling her into him, hard, ââŚand take what you want too.â
Her hands push at his chest, weakly now.
Annieâs breath is still ragged, her palms pressed to Smokeâs broad chest. His voice is in her ear, his hands claiming her hips like heâs afraid sheâll vanish if he donât hold tight.
But she narrows her eyes, not letting him have all the powerânot yet.
Annieâs voice was low, dangerous sweet, âYou keep runninâ off and cominâ back boldâŚyou gonâ find Iâve replaced you with my own peace and a clean blade.â
That makes Smoke pause. His mouth twitchesânot in fear, but in pleasure.
He steps back slightly, reaching into the inner lining of his suit jacket, slick and damp from the rain. He pulls something long and narrow, wrapped in an oilcloth stained with soot.
âThat right? Then maybe I oughta give you what I foundâŚsomethinâ to remember me by if I donât make it home next time.â
He unwraps it slowâlike a man offering something sacred.
Itâs a knife. Not just any knife.
The handle is carved bone, smoothed by time and use, shaped to fit perfectly in a womanâs hand. Thereâs a faint rose motif etched along the base, and the blade gleams like silver lightning.
But itâs the engraving that stops Annie cold.
Right near the base, small and clean and wicked as sin, it reads
For a good boy.
Annie inhales sharply, lips parting. Her whole body tenses, thighs pressing together without thinking.
âLord have mercyâŚâ Her fingers twitch, needing to touch it. She reaches out slow, runs her thumb across the hilt, then the blade, âWhereâd you find this?â
âIn a drawer âlongside some manâs wedding band and two stacks of dirty money. He ainât need it no more. FiguredâŚyou would.â
He watches her eyes darken as she lifts the blade up to the light, admiring the craftsmanship, the weight, the message.
âYou know what this say?â
âI know exactly what it say, baby,â Smoke leans in, voice low, âAnd I ainât never been nobodyâs good boyâŚbut Iâd be yours, if you ask right.â
Her lip curls, smile wicked now
âThat so?â
Smoke spoke stern and hungry, âI brought you blood, money, and steel. All I want is you.â
She turns the blade in her hand once more, then looks him over slowâup and down, eyes heavy with want and mischief.
âThen you best act like it.â
Thatâs when he movesâfast, strong, scooping her clean off the floor. She lets out a soft, breathless yelp but doesnât fight it this time. The knife remains in her hand as he carries her through the narrow hall to the bedroom.
Smoke spoke gruff and possessive, âKeep that knife close. You might need itâŚcase you wanna mark me as yours while Iâm underneath you.â
She laughsâlow, dangerous, aroused.
âYou already marked, Elijah Moore. I ainât gotta carve nothinâ. You carry me in your bones,â Annie spoke low and breathless, âYou think you just gonâ sweet-talk me and Iâll melt like sugar in yaâ hands, Elijah?â
Smoke smiled slow, âAinât gotta think. I know.â
Annie spoke firm, but softening, âYou ainât gonâ disappear again, Smoke. Not without tellinâ me.â
âNo, maâam. I done learned my lesson.â Smoke said, voice thick.
âAnd you still owe me for them sleepless nights, nigga.â
âOh, Iâma pay. In full. With interest.â
Smoke drops her on the bed like an offering. She lands with a soft gasp, dress bunched at her hips. He stands over her, dark eyes sweeping her from curls to toes.
âNow quit all that fussinâ and come get what you been missinâ.â Smoke barked out.
Smoke just looked at her. Slow. From head to heel. Then back up. His chest rose with a deep breath, the kind that came before trouble. He reached up and undid the top buttons of his shirt with rough fingers, not rushingânot one bit.
âTake it off,â he rasped.
Annie didnât move.
He let his shirt hang open, exposing a chest broad and scarred, with thick muscle carved from war and work. Sweat glistened in the dips of his collarbone, his skin the color of polished bronze kissed by dust and sun. A trail of hair led down past his navel, to where his slacks hung low, heavy at the crotch.
âI said, take off that goddamn dress.â Smoke barked out.
Annie sucked her teeth but obeyed, slow and deliberate. Letting the straps fall one at a time, baring thick, heavy breasts with dark nipples that jutted out like a challenge. Her belly curved soft and round, hips wide enough to birth a kingdom. That dress hit the floor, pooling at her feet like spilled conjure soap.
âMmmâŚmmmâŚâ
Smoke dropped his shirt. Undid his belt with one pull. His dick sprang free when he shoved his slacks downâthick, veined, already hard and twitching. Bobbing up and down in her face. Annieâs tongue poked out at the sight.
âDamn, SmokeâŚâ
Smoke cocked his head as he stared her down, âYou miss this big dick but wanna yell my fuckinâ ear off âbout me bringinâ bread home for us. Iâm âbout to tear your ass up, Annie.â
Her breath hitched but her eyes remained cold.
He stepped out of his boots, bare now, looming, his chest rising with short, deep breaths.
âI ainât come home for no talk,â he growled, âAinât come back for no damn backtalk or bedtime stories. I came home for my wife. And I came home to bury myself between them thick thighs and take whatâs mine.â
Annieâs eyes narrowed, lips parting to speakâbut he cut her off.
âNuh uh,â he warned, voice low and mean, âDonât say a word. Not a sound âless itâs a moan. Or a cry. Or my name. âLess you want me to shove this dick down your throat to quiet you.â
He stepped closer, fingers curling around her jaw, rough and hot.
âYou know what I been doinâ, girl?â he whispered against her mouth, âI been sniffinâ them bloomers you left me. Lickinâ the crotch like a goddamn dog. I could taste you. Damn near lost my mind in that room, strokinâ my pole with your scent all over me.â
Annie whimperedâsoft, defiant.
âI need the real thing. Need it wet. Need it wide. Need it now.â
He pushed her backâroughâonto the bed. She bounced against the mattress, thick thighs parting without him having to ask. But he still did.
âWider,â he growled.
Annie spread for him, mouth parted, hands clutching the sheets.
âThatâs it,â he muttered, climbing over her, âJust like that. Look at youâlook at what you give me. Goddamn, you always open up so sweet.â
Smoke got down on his knees and used his tongue to slither between Annieâs pussy lips. Annieâs hips bucked. Smoke wasted no time using his long, thick tongue to suck and lick his wifeâs neglected pussy. Annie kept her legs wide and her knees to her ears but Smoke applied a firm hand to keep her open. He wanted to see that pink. He wanted to see her open so wide with nowhere to go.
He slurped up her clit between his plush lips, making sure to keep it sloppy with his spit mixed with her arousal. He would close his eyes whenever the tip of his tongue slipped inside of her, tasting what spilled, then he would open his eyes to watch her face. He had her clit stiff and folds flushed and throbbing with a type of horny sheâd been trying her best to satisfy in his absence.
Annie watched her husband suck her pussy up with a gaping mouth and shimmering eyes. Her breath would hitch and a choked up moan would escape each time his tongue flicked her clit.
âFuck, Elijah.â
âFound yaâ voice? Eating this phat puss so good got you quiet now, huh?â
Annie gripped the back of his head.
âElijahhhhhhââ
âNuh uhâŚshut up.â
She was dripping so much it sounded like a stream between her thighs. Annie felt the beginning flutters of release. Smoke slowed down his feasting to give her open mouth slurps. His bottom lip would glide while his top lip remained flush against her clit. His tongue flicked up and down at a torturous pace.
Annie rolled her head from side to side, bringing her hands up to hold both fat tits. From Smokeâs position, all he could see was two big âol titties with jutted out nipples swaying back and forth. He groaned so deep Annie shuttered. Smoke reached up to roll her nipples between his fingers.
âSmokeâŚIâm a cumâŚâ
He didnât speak. He continued with his slow eating. Lips smacking. Tongue flicking.
âUnhhhhhhhhhhââ
With a final flick of his thumb on her nipples and a graze of his tongue Annie fell apart. Smoke continued to eat her through her release.
Annie felt another creeping up. She couldnât move. Smoke had her pinned and open.
âFuck you, Smokeeeeeeââ
Annieâs entire body writhed beneath his tongue.
Smoke gave her a final kiss to her clit that made her hips jerk. He stood and hooked his hand on the underside of his shaft, raising it up a little before releasing it, watching it collapse between her pussy lips with an obscene noise.
He pressed the tip of his dick against her wet folds, teasing the slick heat but not sliding in yet. He wanted her squirming. Wanted her needy. Wanted her ruined.
âYou miss this dick?â he asked, grinding slow against her slit, âYou miss me stretchinâ you out? Poundinâ you till your eyes roll?â
Annie didnât answer. Just moanedâhead thrown back, hands gripping the bedframe now.
Usually he would make her speak but the way her wet pussy felt on his dick he couldnât take it.
So Smoke slammed in with one hard stroke.
âGoddamnââ he cursed, choking on the feel of her.
The bed groaned. Then rocked.
Annie groaned so deep. She gripped him tight.
Smoke pulled out to the tip and then drove into her again. Harder. Deeper. The slap of skin echoed through the room, rhythmic and filthy. He grabbed her thigh, bent it high over his shoulder, splitting her open and fucking her rough, unforgiving.
âYou feel that?â he growled, âAinât no man ever gone fuck you like this. Ainât nobody else ever gonna touch this pussy. You hear me?â
Annie tried to nod. Tried to breathe. Titties swaying and slapping into each other.
Smoke leaned in, sweat dripping from his brow onto her chest. He sucked on her nipples, unable to control himself because they were sitting erect and begging to be played with. He drilled with a roll of his hips. Never breaking aim at her spot.
âIâll fuck you till you canât walk. Till you limp for days. So everybody know you mine.â
She clawed at his back, mouth open in a silent scream. Her body shook, thighs trembling.
He didnât stop. Not till he felt her break apart beneath him, her back arching like a bow, her climax rippling around his dick like a vice.
Smoke braces himself on her thighs, got up on his toes, and slammed down into her. Annie took it all like she always did, pussy so used to his big dick.
âFuck your pussy, Papa!â
âWhere am I?â Smoke growled.
âOn Papaâs spot! On Papaâs spot!â She cried.
âFuckinâ that attitude out real quick.â
Smoke slowed down. He buried himself deep, then his let his hips withdraw slow and steady, all the way to the tip. Then he would sink back in slow and with a roll of his hips. Over and over on his spot. Annie was at a lost for words.
She looked down and saw cream and whimpered.
âYou gushing, babyâŚtell Papa how good he make this fat pussy cream.â
âOoohâPapaâŚshiiitâŚyouâfuuuuckâŚyou makinâ it creamyâŚso damn goodâŚâ
Annie reached between and cuffed his balls. Heavy and tight. She rolled them in her palm while he stroked.
âI can feel itâŚâ
Her voice was faint but Smoke knew. He knew his wifeâs pussy. She was ready to let go.
âKeep that hand on my nutsâŚand keep this puss open.â
Annie used her free hand to spread her left cheek. Smoke increased momentum. The iron headboard banged louder and louder and louder the faster he went.
Sweat droplets flew from his body.
His balls sat warm in her hand.
His dick twitched against her walls.
âIâm ready to fuckinâ cumâŚ.gahdamn, AnnieâŚâ
Annie let go of his balls and felt them slap against her ass. The sensation mixed with the way he was claiming that pussy had her eyes crossing. Smoke leaned in and sucked on her jaw. Hard muscle surrounded plush flesh. Annieâs finger nails dragged down his arms, but his skin was so sweaty it didnât mark him. Smoke peppered his kisses down her neck, over her nipples, and back to up until his lips founds hers. He buried his tongue in her mouth to quiet her.
When he broke the kiss, only then did he grunt, spill deep, and grind slow, letting every drop mark her as his.
When it was done, he hovered over her, chest heaving, voice thick with worship.
âI ainât goinâ nowhere, baby,â he whispered, âThis home. You my home.â
And the bed rocked one last time beneath the weight of his love.
The week after the heist rolls in hot and heavy, thick with summer heat and the kind of need that donât fade with morning light.
Smokeâs been on Annie like a man starved.
He fucks her in the hallway before she can reach the kitchen, backs her against the pantry door with one hand up her dress and the other wrapped tight around her hair. He bends her over the table in the front room, knocks over her candle jars, and donât even flinch.
He takes her in the rootroom, tooâup against the shelves where she keeps her oils and dried herbs, her dress hiked high and her moans swallowed in the crook of his neck. The scent of sage, pine, and sex lingers in the walls now like incense that wonât lift.
They donât talk about it much.
But itâs clearâever since he came back, ever since he brought that blade and dropped his guardâheâs been claiming her over and over, body and breath, like a man afraid she might slip away.
And Annie lets him.
She lets him because every time he touches her, itâs with the heat of guilt and something deeperâlike heâs trying to make up for every hour he left her wondering. When he kisses the inside of her thigh, it feels like an apology, slow and aching. And when he whispers âyou mineâ against her skin, he donât mean it as a threat.
He means it as a prayer.
Outside, the house hums with life.
Smokeâs out back, hammer in hand, rebuilding the porch steps that have been threatening to give way all summer. Heâs shirtless, sweat slick across his chest and shoulders, broad back flexing with every movement. The Mississippi sun glows off his bronze skin, the slope of his collarbone catching light like a blade.
Heâs wearing coveralls, but the top halfâs tied around his waist, hanging low on his hips, dirt smudged across the knees. A red ragâs tucked in the waistband. His boots are unlaced. Thereâs a cigarette tucked behind his ear and a thin streak of sawdust across his stomach.
Annie watches him from the kitchen window, one hip cocked, apron tied tight, her arms folded under her chest.
He donât even know how good he look.
She turns back to the stove, stirring a pot of smothered pork chops. Collards simmer on the back burner, seasoned with smoked turkey neck and a little sassafras. Cornbreadâs cooling on the counter. Sweet teaâs sweating in a glass jar near the sink.
She donât say it out loud, but it feels good to take care of him like this. To feed a man whoâs put so much fire in her and left so much ash in his own mouth.
And yetâŚ
He ainât hers all day. Not with whatâs rising in Clarksdale.
Word travels fast in the Delta. Since Clifton âCleveâ Rayâs blood soaked the dirt behind the juke joint, Smoke and Stack been pulling in power like a high tide.
Bootleggers, gamblers, brothel ownersâthey all checking in with the twins now. Asking permission. Paying tribute. Some out of respect. Most out of fear.
Smokeâs been gone more and moreâmeetings in backrooms, shady deals behind barns, handshakes soaked in blood and whiskey. He leaves in the morning with a pistol tucked under his arm and comes back smelling like other menâs sweat and dirt and long silence. But every time he steps through that door and finds Annie barefoot in the kitchen, curls wild and her eyes watching like she sees straight through him?
He softens.
At least, for a while.
The screen door creaks. Smoke steps inside, shirt still off, rag now wiping his brow. He smells the food before he sees her.
Smoke spoke low and smiling, âYou tryna feed me or fuck me?â
Annie didnât look back as she spoke, âBoth.â
She spoons gravy over his plate, still in her house dress, nothing under it but skin. Her thigh glints where the slit parts. The same garter he loves still wrapped high.
Smoke steps behind her, crowding her space. He pressed his body against hers, her backside against his crotch. He smelled like sweat and whatever his natural musk was.
âGoddamn, woman. You tryna kill me in my own home.â
âJust remindinâ you where you supposed to rest.â
He kisses her neck, lips hot and slow.
And Annieâdespite her worries, despite the ache in her chest every time heâs gone too longâleans back into him and lets herself be held.
Because for now?
Heâs home.
Heâs hers.
And the rest of the world can wait.
The kitchen is thick with warmthâsweet tea sweating on the table, the smell of smothered pork chops hanging in the air like memory. The screen door still swings gently from where Smoke came in, carrying the heat of the Delta and something heavier on his shoulders.
Heâs halfway through his plate when the silence between them grows too thick to ignore. Annieâs at the counter, wiping her hands on a dish towel, but sheâs watching him with that lookâthe one that sees through bone.
âMe and StackâŚwe settlinâ in. But this thing? Itâs bigger than we thought.â
Annie turns, leans back against the counter, arms crossed beneath her breasts.
âYou mean takinâ over after you two buried Cleve in the dirt like a dog?â
âHe earned that dirt,â Smoke spoke with a gruff tone.
âDidnât say he didnât.â
There was a momentary pause.
âJust wonderinâ what yâall thought was gonna happen after you cut the head off the beast.â
Smoke sets his fork down, eyes low, jaw ticking.
âDidnât expect it to go smooth. But now everybody sniffinâ âround. Out-of-towners. Folks that used to bow to Cleve tryna decide whether to bow to usâor test us.
âSo now you gotta bark louder. Carry bigger guns. Sleep lighter.â Annie said.
âStackâs tryinâ to build structure. Numbers. Runners. Iâm handlinâ the ones that need handlinâ.â
Another pause.
Smoke continued, âWe ainât just fillinâ Cleveâs shoes. We burninâ âem and makinâ our own.â
Annie watches him a long moment.
âYou makinâ money. Keepinâ your name in menâs mouths. That what you want?â
âI want control. So nobody ever gets to pull strings on us again. Not like Cleve did. Not like anybody did.â
Annie walks over slow, holding her hand out.
âThen give me that mojo bag.â
He doesnât hesitate. He slips the worn leather mojo bag from around his neck and drops it in her palm like a weight heâs ready to surrender.
âIt still holdinâ?â Smoke questioned.
âItâs tired. Like you.â
She closes her fingers around it, and without another word, walks out of the room.
In the front room, the altar is quiet, glowing with low candlelight and the hush of old spirits. Annie kneels, legs folded beneath her, white cotton robe brushing the floor. She unwraps the mojo bag, empties it into her palm. Dirt from under their bed. His hair. A sliver of bone. A small square of red flannel tied with black thread.
She breathes in deep, lips barely moving.
âKeep him grounded. Keep him safe. Keep his mind sharp, his hands clean, his body whole. And keep him mine.â
Annie adds crushed bay leaf, fresh snips of his hair, a pinch of red pepper. She smears it with a dab of her oilâone she made herself, heavy with patchouli and iron filings.
She ties it back up, wraps it tight.
Smokeâs still at the table, shirtless, chewing slow. His eyes drift toward the front room. One hand rests on the table; the other rubs at the space where the charm used to hang.
He donât like how it feelsâbeing without it, even just for a while. He finishes his plate but doesnât move, like his body knows sheâll be back before long.
Annie steps back into the kitchen, bare feet silent against the floorboards. She places the recharged mojo bag in his palm.
âWear it. Keep it close.â
âI will.â Smoke spoke softly.
He slips it back over his head, lets it fall against his chest, skin to skin.
âYou built yourself a kingdom outta Cleveâs ashes. But donât forgetâpower can feed you or eat you whole.â
Smoke replied sincere, âI ainât forgettinâ. Thatâs why I come home to you.â
She brushes past him, and he watches her moveâhips swaying under her cotton robe, soft strength in every step.
And in that moment, Smoke knows the truth:
He might rule outside these wallsâŚ
But inside this house?
Annie is the crown.
Itâs deep in the night. The kind of stillness that feels pressed down by the weight of the Delta heat, everything hushed but the distant sound of cicadas and a soft drip of water from the bath.
Smoke steps into their bedroom, steam still clinging to his skin. The towel around his hips hangs lowâtoo lowâriding the line of temptation. His chest glistens, water beading along the hard lines of his torso. Wide shoulders, arms thick and veined, torso carved by work and war. Thereâs strength in himâbut also softness in the belly, just above the dip of his navel, where Annie loves to press her lips. His skin is the color of dark bronze left out in the sunârich, warm, and glimmering where droplets trail down from his collarbone to the dark hair on his chest. Heâs toweling his head, slow and lazy, and he hasnât even noticed her watching.
Annie sits at her vanity in a silk slip the color of cream. Her full thighs spill over the seat, legs crossed, coils wild and haloed around her face. Her eyes are locked on him through the mirrorâhungry. She picks up a small bottle of oil she blended herselfâinfused with cinnamon bark, orange blossom, and a drop of sweet almond to keep it soft on the skin. It smells like fire and sugar.
She spoke softly, âCome here.â
Smoke lifts his head, towel slung over his shoulder now. A smirk plays across his mouth.
âWhat you planninâ, woman?â
âIâm planninâ to oil what belongs to me,â Annie paused, eyes dragging up and down his body, âBefore the streets take another piece of you.â
He doesnât argue. He steps closer and stands before her like an offeringâbarefoot, tall, solid, heat rolling off his skin. Her eyes travel over him, slow. She uncaps the bottle, pours a little into her palm, rubs her hands together until they glisten.
Then she begins.
First, she oils his neck, thumbs pressing into the tension at the base of his skull, rubbing slow circles down the cords of muscle. His head tilts back with a low groan. Then his shouldersâbroad and thick beneath her hands. She kneads deep, slow strokes gliding over scars and strength.
âMmmâŚLordâŚyou tryna make me beg, baby?â
âNot yet.â She teased.
Annie moves to his chest, spreading oil across muscle and bone, letting her fingers linger at the rise of his pecs, the thick muscle beneath the soft that only sheâs ever touched tender. Then his abdomen, slow strokes across the ripple and dipâher nails scrape lightly just above his hip, and he shudders. She turns him and does his back nextâbroad, strong, the kind of back thatâs carried burdens and bodies. She takes her time, sliding her palms from his shoulders to the small of his spine, then down again, oiling every inch like heâs hers to preserve.
When sheâs satisfied, she turns him around to face her.
âSit down, baby.â
He sits on the edge of the bed. Legs wide. Breathing heavier now.
Annie kneels.
Her hands glide over his feet, ankles, shins, up to his thighsâslow and measured. She doesnât rush. The towelâs barely hanging on now, the shape of him pressing full and heavy beneath it.
She rests her palms on his knees, then slips the towel aside.
Heâs already hardâthick, long, dark, and pulsing.
Annie pours a little more oil into her palm. Then she wraps her hand around himâslow, smooth, twisting at the top with practiced ease.
She spoke low and filthy, âLook at you. So full. So hard. You been carryinâ all that weight out there in them streets, and still come home heavy for me.â
Smoke grits his teeth, jaw clenching, his thighs tensing under her.
âYou know this dick donât belong to nobody but me, right?â
Smoke growled, âYes maâam.â
She strokes him slow, base to tip, letting the oil glide as her other hand cups his balls, squeezing gently. Smoke groans, tilting back. His dick reminded Annie of a steel rod covered with flesh. The sensation of his veins, the girth stretching her fingers, the crown of his dick wide and purplish from arousal. Smoke teased her with his full lips.
âYou kill men. You run Clarksdale. You sit on a throne made of fear and blood. But right now?â She squeezes tighter, speeds her stroke just a little, eyes locked on his face, âYou just my good boy.â
Smoke moansâdeep and hoarse, one hand bracing on the bedframe, the other sliding into her curls.
âGoddamnâŚAnnieâŚâ
âThatâs right. Give it to me. Let me take it.â
Ainât nobody gonâ hold you down like I do. Stroke this dick like I do,â Annie held him at the base and slapped his dick against the palm of her other hand.
âSo heavy and thickâŚâ
Annie lowered the straps to her slip and her heavy breasts spilled out. She slapped her cleavage with his tip. Smoke furrowed his brows and groaned.
She let go of him and watched how his dick pointed up on its own like a stick in the mud. Annie grabbed each heavy breast and circled his dick with both, gliding up and down. Smoke rocked his head back, revealing his neck that glistened from the oil. Each time her breasts would come down they would smack against his thighs.
âFuck, just like that, baby, fuckâŚâ
Annie continued titty-fucking him, licking her lips as he starts loft his hips to chase that feeling.
His tip would disappear and reappear and each time Annie would flick her tongue in his slit. Smoke fisted the quilt beneath him and flexed his thighs. He was about to fall apart under her big titties, hips jerking, breath ragged.
âAnnie,â Smoke reaches down to grab both tits, releasing his dick, watching it bounce free, âTime to give me my pussy, girl. You done fucked âround and woke Papa up.â
Smoke didnât give Annie a chance to stand up. He lifted her himself and yanked that slip the rest of the way down.
âGot me goinâ crazy since I been back in this damn house, shit,â Smoke circled behind her and double cuffed both her ass cheeks. That motion brought Annie on her tip toes as she tilted forward against the bed.
âThis body donât make no sense, womanâŚbe having my Johnson achinâ for you.â
Annie loved when he spoke like thatâfilthy, desperate, greedyâit made her pussy wetter and her body more pliable.
âOn yaâ knees. Open up.â
Annie stared at herself in the vanity mirror. Smoke caught her eye. She arched her back and when her ass pointed up Smoke drew back a wide open palm and whacked her so hard on both cheeks. Back and forth. Back and forth. Like a sensual dance.
Whack. Whack. Whack. Whack
âSpankinâ this big ass good, huh?â
Annie leaned into the strikes. That sting had her pussy dripping.
Smoke was pointed straight out like a flag pole. He was ready. Annie scooted further to the edge. She knew to bring both arms up, hook them around Smokeâs neck with her hands cradled. Smoke dipped his hips. He lined himself up and then pushed up into her wet pussy with one stroke.
Annie moaned beautifully.
Smoke rest his hands on her love handles and stares straight ahead in that mirror.
Breasts hanging.
Belly sitting low.
Big thighs spread open.
Then his eyes fell to her back.
Spine arched.
Ass sitting wide.
He wasted no time banging her back in. Each stroke was like a tidal wave, slamming into her and creating ripples across her brown flesh. Smoke dug his fingers into her flesh and drove his dick in deep and shallow. Annie had this defeated, âfucked outâ look in her eyes.
Dick drunk.
Annie couldnât hold on anymore. She let go of his neck and reached back for his hands. Smoke interlocked his fingers with hers and Annie fell forward, cheek hitting the quit.
âFUCK ME, PAPA!â Annie shouted with ecstasy.
Smoke did just that. Handling her good. Rough. Tender.
Had that bed rocking.
The quilt was warm beneath her hands, her breath ragged from the momentous heat. Her body is arched, hips tilted back, the soft weight of her breasts swaying with every thrust. Behind her, Smoke moves slow and deep, hands gripping her wide hips like theyâre the only thing anchoring him to the earth.
Her eyes flick upâand there it is.
The reflection.
Her full figure bathed in low lamp light, skin glowing and slick with sweat. Her ass bounces with every push of his hips, jiggling beneath the force, the garter belt still clinging to her thighs like a vice. Her back is arched into a perfect curve, spine dipping down to where they meetâwhere heâs buried deep, stretching her full, making her cry out in time with every roll of his hips.
His body gleams. Chest and stomach sheened with the oil she rubbed into him earlier. Muscles flexing under bronze skin, veins thick in his forearms. And his eyesâLord, those eyesâlocked on the mirror, locked on her, face smoldering, jaw clenched, sweat dripping from his temple to her back.
âYou feel that? How deep I am?â He spoke low with a gravel.
She moans, mouth parted, watching herself gasp. She looks beautiful like thisâundone but powerful. Her hair wild, her lips trembling, her body being worshipped through motion and rhythm.
She spoke, breathless, âGod, yesâŚYou in my stomach, Elijah.â
He grunts, hips slapping harder now, the sound filthy, wet, possessed.
And all she can do is stare at the mirror, watching the way her body blooms around him, how good she looks being takenâownedâand how gone he looks inside her.
The mirror ainât never lied.
It told her the truthâ
She was made for this. And he was made to take her.
âElijah, you thick in me, Papa!â
âYou donât want me to go, do you?â
âNo!â
Clap. Clap. Clap. Clap.
âWhere you want me to stay?â
âDeep in your pussy!â
âWhy you like for me to fuck you like this? Say it.â
ââCause you deep and in my stomach, Papa!â
âYou ready to cum?â
âYessssssssââ
âPaint this dick!â
Annie stilled, body frozen with her release. Smoke kept stroking. Annieâs toes curled, her eyes squeezed shut, her hands fisted the quilt.
Smoke wasnât far behind. Hisses spilled from his thick lips and repeated grunts bubbled in his throat.
Annie rolled her hips as she threw it back on his tip and his tip only. Smoke poked out his bottom lip and shut his eyes. His fingers twitched on her hips.
âYou on my tipâŚAnnieâŚfuuuckâŚI love this pussyâŚfuckinâ my tip goodâŚAnnieâŚfuck, womanâŚpussy wetâŚughhhhhhhhhhhhhââ
And when he came, it was with her name in his mouth and his eyes locked on hersâlike sheâs the only altar heâs ever knelt before.
The room is quiet nowâjust the soft tick of the wall clock and their breathing, slowing in rhythm.
Smoke is still inside her, hips pressed flush to the curve of her ass, his chest blanketing her back. His arms are wrapped around her middle, hands splayed wideâone over her belly, the other slipping higher to rest just beneath her breast. Their bodies are slick, skin sticking slightly with sweat and oil. The scent of sex clings to the air, warm and heady.
Annieâs cheek rests against the quilt, her eyes half-lidded. Her lashes flutter. Sheâs boneless, breathless, lips parted in a soft moan that never fully left her throat.
Smoke spoke lowly behind her, âYou still with me, baby?â
Annie hums. Doesnât speak. Just presses her hips back into him the smallest bit, as if to say Donât move. Stay.
And he does.
He nuzzles into her shoulder, lips brushing the skin right where neck meets collarbone.
âAinât never seen anything as pretty as the way you look when Iâm inside you.â
There was a comfortable pause.
Smoke continued, âLike your body know me better than I know myself.â
His voice is thick, worn at the edges. Tender.
She shifts slightly, the motion pulling another soft gasp from both of them. Her voice comes out quiet but sure.
âYou feel so goodâŚstill fillinâ me up.â Annie whispers.
âI ainât ready to let go,â He tightens his grip, arms firm around her belly, anchoring her there, âWe donât get peace like this out there. World full of enemies, snakes, men grinninâ while they plottinâ. But right here? This the only place I trust to breathe.â
Annie closes her eyes. Her hand reaches back, fingertips brushing his thigh. A silent I hear you. I got you.
He presses a kiss to her shoulder. Then another, softer. Slower.
Smoke whispers, âI wanna grow old with you, Annie.â
She lets that settle. Lets the ache in her legs remind her sheâs alive. Lets his weight sink into her. And finally, she speaksâbarely above a whisper.
âThen stop disappearinâ.â
A beat of silence.
âIâll try.â
A pause between words settled.
ââŚGod help me, Iâll try. Iâll try, baby.â
They stay like that for a whileâjoined, pressed together, her wrapped in his arms, him wrapped in her body, in her scent, in her strength.
