Just finished a cross stitch of this!
a relationship can indeed serve as a powerful catalyst for raising consciousness levels, provided there is genuine acceptance and a lack of resistance. Resistance usually stems from the ego's desire to control, change, or demand something from the other person. By letting go of this resistance, you purify the mind, reduce egoic attachments, and move closer to experiencing the ultimate truth of oneness.
Never judge the way someone dresses, what they eat, what they do in their free time or how social they are. You never know how much strength it took them to put it all together. To keep going. To put one foot in front of the other. Life isn't always easy. Let's be kinder to each other.

The ppl saying pap smears "are just mild discomfort" have never gotten a pap smear as virgin, as a lesbian who has never been penentrated, as a woman with vaginismus, as a woman with pelvic floor dysfunction, as a woman with complex sexual trauma or sexual vaginal injury or injury from childbirth. We're trying to tell you huge groups of women are excluded/ not considered by the typical pap smear technique and its a real and significant barrier to health care access.
Despite these situations and conditions being very common, for some reason a lot health care providers that offer routine pap smears are totally inconpetent and unprepared to handle these conditions/situations. And many act like you have 3 heads or youre just being difficult when you bring it up and try to get your needs met.
So a lot of women with specific needs have to shop around and spend significant time and money just try to get their needs met by a competent health care provider.
This should not be the case and its just another huge barrier to getting, what should be, routine care.
So people are not being babies, they're describing an unaddressed barrier to care.
As a survivor of repeated sexual violence since childhood, I always start crying during a pap. No matter how kind the practitioner, no matter how “well” I’ve been doing, no matter how long since I was last assaulted, no matter how much self-coaching I did before hand. I cry. Every. Single. Time.
And crying is just the minimum. Sometimes I have a full blown panic attack. Sometimes I have intense flash backs and fully dissociate. Sometimes my body starts responding as if I’m being assaulted (involuntary movements like pushing away air, clawing at an invisible hand around my neck, my arm trying to protect my face from a ghost punch, begging for it to stop).
I warn the practitioner before hand of my history, they make sure that there are always two women staff and never a man in the room, and still it happens. Some are very kind and empathetic, some just stare at me like I’m an alien and they don’t know women could ever be victims of sexual violence. Some just ignore me completely and leave the room after without a word, presumably to “give me space.”
There’s got to be a better way to ensure all is as it should be down there without having to re-traumatize survivors every goddamn time.
You don’t owe anyone your softness twice.
Some one should have told me this 999,999,999 times ago

do you ever get secondhand happiness? like someone is happy so you're happy because they're happy
Hey all, here’s another poetry video I made. I recently flew to Utah for a healing retreat for women who survived CSA. I filmed this on my way there (voice over later) and thought this was a nice way to honor all the healing work I continue doing.
Also if any women survivors want info on this retreat, please send me a message. It’s FREE for survivors (women only, not sure what their policy is for trans women but you can still check them out!)
