Thank the gods Percy found them, he has a wedding in a few hours and looks like a mess.

Hermes looked back to Percy, studying his features carefully. "I don't think I'd blame you if you did." In his pocket, George and Martha remained silent, as they had been for most of the day.

Percy visibly swallowed, Adam's apple bobbing in his throat. Hermes watched the movement despite the seriousness of the conversation. Percy, after all, had always been beautiful, and Hermes was nothing if not weak for a pretty face. He'd somehow not cared before, but now he couldn't think of anything else.

"I used to," Percy finally said. "Still do sometimes." He shook his head and looked over to Hermes, his eyes the same colour as the nearby waves. "But you're trying, at least. For them," he added, nodding over to where several of Hermes' younger children were clearly plotting something. "The kids deserve it."

Hermes swallowed down a wave of guilt, thinking back to his failures. To Luke. "They do." Then, "so do you."

Or, Apollo tries to set up Percy and Hermes. He succeeds, in a fashion.

[Mr. D's Illegal Sip] by aphroditesfavorite

Currently unfinished at four chapters, Mr D's Illegal Sip is a crack fic narrated from a different point of view every chapter. The character's personalities are all true to cannon whilst still being very entertaining, and the plot escalation is done very naturally. It's not all just humor though, and the segments of emotional conflict are written thoughtfully. 3k

A deceptively romantic and drowsy vacation fic that eases you into a harrowing tale about Celtic and Icelandic mythology and monsters. Percy and Apollo both have this maturity that makes their relationship refreshingly stable and supportive. 14.3k

Cross country trip with a heaping spoon of romantic tension and longing. Well-written dialogue and excellent writing. Finished at 2.5k and the kind of text that gets better after every read.

[Karma at its Finest] by AriesBuenos

Hanahaki!AU with an infected Apollo and an adorable Perpollo dynamic. Percy is oh so concerned and considerate and the pining that ensures is heartbreaking. Every other sentance is an @perpolloquote worthy one-liner and the relationship development and degradation between characters are a work of art. 4 chapters in at 18.6k words.

Hanahaki!AU with an infected Percy with a possessive Apollo who still retains his immortal traits, but loves Percy enough to allow him to make his own choices while doing his best to support him. Percy is a unreliable narrator due to thinking his death is imminent, which makes for an interesting story. 1/3 chapters in at 7.4k words.

[You're sick of feeling numb (You're not the only one)] by Willothewisp

Injury recovery one-shot with great humor. The buildup to the Perpollo confession/get together is very fun and these two are so shy and smitten that I'd imagine it's an enjoyable read suitable for everyone. Finished at 2k.

A tension filled fic where a pining, possessive Apollo just can't accept seeing Percy with anyone. Currently the story is at 2/7 parts, but the writing is incredible and the chapters easily stand on their own.

[The Sun's Love] by ILoveMyths2003

The beginning to a soulmate alternate universe with a dark tone. Apollo is determined to have Percy by any means, but not completely unreasonable to the point readers cannot sympathise with him. The most recent entry is [Force? Or Chance?].

[The Fishbowl] by Butterflies_Stormclouds

Possessive Apollo kidnapping fanfic around 1k. Very original execution of the kidnapping concept. There is a sense of dread that grows slowly as you read, and the author's descriptions make it easy to sympathise with Percy.

[I'll Turn Your Sea To A Desert] by ashilrak

A one-shot where plot may not be considered dark, but the dialogue and concepts are reminiscence of subtle gothic horror. The vampire concept Ashilrak introduces is very intriguing and original. 2k.

[Lie To Me, I Promise To Believe] by Geneviev

A soulmate AU...with some lying and drama. Another un-traditional dark work, but Apollo's complex character (and betrayal) is so well written that the tone is definitely tragic and bittersweet. 6k---but the unexpected plot twists will leave you hooked and make the story seem a lot shorter.

Percy ascends via boning Apollo. Somehow, the author makes this concept hilarious and believable at the same time. Short and fulfilling at 2.5k.

Whether the author wrote this with the intention of being funny is unknown, but the plot is so in-your-face nonsensical any reader who enjoyed "My Immortal" will probably be entertained. 0.9k.

Established relationship/married fluff, around 2k. This fanfic is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

Forced marriage AU with some dubious morality, Triton being a good brother and some excellent characterisation and interactions between gods. A longer read around 60k, but the pacing is very smooth and the build up of the suspense is well done.

This is more of a failed Perpollo marriage, but the entire journey from the character getting together to the ending is plausible and well thought out. Firmly in the angst category. 3k.
