I think the reason it takes me so long to write something or why I lose motivation so easily (like I’ve gone years without writing a damn thing before) is because I’m so committed to painting a full picture that it becomes draining after a certain point.
When I’m writing, I want you to get the entire image of what’s happening.
That includes the little things that humans do while they talk. Like is this character biting their lip? are they scratching the back of their head? Are they chewing on some gum? are they rolling their eyes? What’s the inflection in their voice? Are they annoyed? Heated? Nonchalant? Timid? Exasperated? Are they feeling fit to burst with joy?
And I’m so particular about my word choice in a scene. For example, if I say “Character A screamed”, that has a completely different connotation than “Character A yelled” or “Character B sobbed” vs “Character B weeped”. Like yes, these words may be synonymous but their impact hits differently.
When I’m writing I want to be able to see everything that’s happening in a scene as if I’m watching it on my tv and you see everything the actors are doing with their body language and facial expressions. These things are what make or break a performance in a show and/or movie admittedly. Unfortunately, this does tend to get exhausting but I just can’t seemingly stop. Otherwise my work would feel incomplete in my eyes. That’s just my writing style and my way of thinking about it. Other people might not have these same reservations and truthfully, I’m incredibly jealous of you people.
At the end of the day, I really could just be over thinking this lol.

the last time i was actively in fandom spaces was peak supernatural and peak avengers clint is in the vents and thor loves pop tarts and it was so fun. WHY IS EVERYONE SO MISERABLE NOW. can’t even breathe cus somebody is gonna have a problem with you.
what happened to fandom spaces in the past few years. like genuinely i can’t imagine thor loves pop tarts happening now, people would get tomatoes thrown at them for even bringing it up. especially the twt mfs, they’re sooooo miserable.
( i will acknowledge that IT IS insanely annoying when canon starts adopting fanon characterization especially if it’s fanon characterizations that don’t make sense for a character or ruins a character. i think that’s wildly insane to do, just because a certain group of fans love that characterization doesn’t mean it should become the entire character just to cater to these fans in some weird fan service way. just keep writing the characters the way they been written and ignore fandom spaces )
My issue in fandom spaces is that NONE OF MY SHIPS ARE MAINSTREAM!!!! THEY ARE ALL NICHE!!!!! okay maybe I am being a bit dramatic but lets take a look at my top three.
Ship One: m4f, same media, my one OTP, crazy but in a fun-ish way
14 fics on ao3. One of them is by me. At LEAST four of them are those ungodly oneshot amalgamations with eight billion ship tags. Most are by one specific orphan account who keeps giving the woman animal features but nor specifying which animal and just saying "her tail wagged" or "her ears flicked". What does that mean. Also a good chunk of their fics are smut which isn't my thing.
Ship Two: m4m, jesus christ what is wrong with them, I am happy they're with each other because good God they should never be around anyone else for the safety of others
Grand total of FOUR fics on ao3. Maybe 5. One is first person, which i dont read. One is in Russian, which i /cant/ read. One is OOC smut, which is still not my thing. One is less than 500 words. When does it end.
Ship Three: f4f, literally NOBODY ships this but me and I am being dead serious
This is just a me thing. Fandom so small it fits on a unicycle. NO fics on ao3. NO fics on wattpad. NO fics on quotev. NO fics on ff.net. The only media I have ever seen of it is the things I write myself in my notebook. I just think women should be allowed to kill more people. It's not my fault one is from a niche media and the other is (surprisingly) hated. Jeez.
