PART THREE
Suddenly, the officer lunged forward, grabbing Franz and pulling him close. He hissed in a frantic whisper: "Shh! There are ears listening everywhere! The King has eyes, shh!" He glanced anxiously to the right and left, ensuring no one had overheard them. Still whispering, he demanded: "What exactly will I gain from this recruitment?" Franz replied in a low, hushed tone: "Just to be my friend." The officer squinted, furrowing his brows in utter bewilderment: "Your friend? That makes absolutely no sense." He pondered the absurd proposition for a moment before nodding, "Agreed." He extended his hand and shook Franz's. In truth, the officer was not driven by greed; he was simply intensely curious about the nature of this mysterious Interest. Aru, hiding in the shadows, felt deeply uneasy around this newcomer. In reality, Aru harbored a deep-seated fear of military officers due to their notorious brutality, though this particular man did not seem overtly terrifying. The newly recruited officer possessed an impeccable record of good conduct, sharp intellect, and masterful planning skills. He rarely agreed with King Waru’s erratic words and destructive actions. Because of this, many of his fellow officers, soldiers, and citizens actively disliked him—largely due to his uncompromisingly strict directives and his endless, exhausting lectures regarding their sacred duties to the King. One thing was absolutely certain: a catastrophic disaster would erupt if this officer ever discovered that another native of Waruland —especially a fugitive like Aru—was part of this secret venture. For now, the officer remained casual about his involvement, operating under the assumption that this entire Interest was merely a temporary arrangement.
notes:
This a chapter very tall I have divided to Three Parts.
A novel hadn't finished yet.
it was this a End of Part one.
PART TWO
Meanwhile, back in Kurograd... "No! No! I won't go! I won't go! I won't go!" Aru’s frantic protests echoed through Kuron's quarters, expressing his vehement refusal to return to his homeland. Kuron countered firmly: "But we need your expertise there. You are going, whether you like it or not." He then added, "Don't worry, we will keep you hidden from sight." Aru took no comfort in those words. Nonetheless, the group set off toward the scorching kingdom under Franz’s leadership. Upon arriving at the borders of Waroland, the young lady immediately complained about the oppressive atmosphere: "Why is it so unbearably hot here?" Franz approached the gates, maintaining his stiff formality: "We wish to enter." One of the guards smirked, asking mockingly: "Where are your passports?" He let out a small chuckle. Franz replied stiffly: "But we came without—" The guard cut him off, laughing out loud: "I was only joking with you! Go on in." The two guards shared a hearty laugh at their expense. The lady frowned, highly uncomfortable with their laughter, sensing the mockery hidden beneath it. Stepping inside, they discovered that amidst the vast ruins, everything was painted in green. The citizens were dressed entirely in green, all of them wearing spectacles that mirrored the distinct style of King Waru. One of the local officers approached them, welcoming them with surprising warmth: "Welcome, visitors! No one ever visits us here." Another officer instantly barked at him, trying to halt the hospitality: "Are you seriously welcoming foreigners into our midst?" The first officer replied sullenly: "I wasn't the one who let them past the gates." The strict officer snapped back at his colleague: "Get out of here." Moments later, the specific officer they had come to recruit—the mastermind behind the refreshment stand—brought out his signature sour-sweet juice. The guests took a sip and instantly winced, astonished by the intense, biting sourness of the drink. The only exception was the Spy, who tolerated the flavor perfectly, savoring it with absolute nonchalance. He even looked up and asked: "Is there any more?" Franz, wiping his mouth, asked: "Do you happen to have any other juice besides this one?" The officer paid no attention to their questions. The young lady politely thanked him for his hospitality, causing the disciplined officer to blush slightly at her kind words. Seizing the moment, Franz stepped forward to extend the official offer of recruitment. Kuron observed the officer closely, recognizing in him the traits of an ideal asset: sharp intelligence, rigid discipline, assertiveness, and absolute seriousness. Franz spoke plainly: "We are going to recruit you.
Chapter 5: Unlikely Alliances and The Blazing Ruins of Waruland On one of the most suffocating, scorching days in Waruland... The defenseless citizens tried desperately to flee their ruined kingdom, but the officers and guards stood strictly in their path, watching their every move. Fortunately, Aru had managed to find a loophole to escape. Now safe in Kurograd, he sat among Kuron and his comrades, exchanging casual conversation. Every now and then, during a peaceful gathering with Kuron’s team, Aru would recall fond memories of his distant homeland: "We used to have a game where you summon a warrior—a figurine controlled for duels. I used to play it with the commoners and my friends. It was a game that drew many competitors; whoever lost was knocked out. And we played marbles, and..." Kuron interrupted him coldly: "We never play." Aru cut him off in return, but this time, he cast aside his usual childish demeanor and attempted to remain positive: "I understand how busy you all are, but a person must find leisure. Even the officers and guards indulge in recreation." Kuron dismissed him aggressively: "Drop all this nonsense." With that, Kuron stood up from the gathering and walked away. However, a sudden phone call from Franz forced Kuron to remain in the room. He answered the line only after everyone else had cleared out. Franz’s voice came through, cool and transactional: "Tomorrow... the Interest meeting." Kuron offered no reply and simply hung up. Meanwhile, the Spy was exerting every effort to breach Kurograd’s operating system, but his attempts were entirely futile. Kurograd's system was completely secure and could not be penetrated easily. Despite both of their kingdoms being highly advanced in technology, the Spy was forced to resort to mobile phones as the only viable alternative. Most of the other kingdoms in the land lived in complete isolation and were nowhere near as technologically evolved as Kurograd or the Spade Empire. Franz had secretly hoped that Kuron would provide them with sophisticated communication devices, but Kuron had utterly refused. Left with no choice, the Spy took the initiative to find a way to establish a connection, making mobile phones their only temporary salvation. Unfortunately, the task proved too difficult for the Spy to handle alone, forcing him to seek Kuron's technical assistance. In the middle of the barren wilderness, a quiet dialogue took place between the two men as they assembled a makeshift device: — "I can't believe we are actually working together," the Spy remarked in his usual relaxed tone. — "Hmmph," Kuron grunted dryly. — "Your operating systems are quite complex and headache-inducing." Ignoring the comment, Kuron focused entirely on the communication dilemma before offering a tactical suggestion: "We must dismantle these phones and merge their components into a single device." — "Understood. Let's begin." They worked intermittently, their progress disrupted by differing time zones, political circumstances, and their heavily packed schedules. They persisted, constantly testing the device's signal strength, until they finally succeeded in creating phones capable of encrypted transmission. Once finished, they distributed the devices to everyone involved in the Subsoba. The Spy stared at the finished hardware, uttering his final words on the matter to declare their victory over the isolation: "These are the phones we labored so hard for... Now, the communication crisis is officially solved." Back in Waruland... The sun blazed mercilessly, its scorching heat striking anyone unfortunate enough to walk the streets. The people dripped with sweat, so much so that the Chief of Officers had established a refreshment kiosk. It served a unique beverage that perfectly balanced sourness, sweetness, and icy coldness to quench the thirst of the masses. The amusing irony, however, was that even in this chaotic kingdom, one had to stand in a strict, orderly queue just to get a cup.

Chapter 4: Sparks of Jealousy and Unexpected Encounters
In the warmth of a morning in the Kingdom of Felixia...
Felix and Franz sat down to a breakfast hearty enough for two: a jar of sweet jam, toasted bread neatly stacked on a large platter, fried eggs, and their well-known turnip salad. Yet, as they began to enjoy their delicious meal, someone suddenly interrupted them.
It was Romeo!! And with him was a young lady.
From his very first impression of the King of the Hearts during their visit to Verona, Franz had harbored a deep irritation toward him and his King. Franz muttered to himself, highly annoyed: "What on earth brought him here? This is hardly the time for a visit."
Nevertheless, Felix welcomed him warmly: "Good morning! Please, join us for breakfast."
The King of Hearts politely declined the invitation for his Jack. Felix then turned to Franz and suggested: "Why don't you show the young lady around our kingdom? We wish to speak in private."
Obeying his King—who was also his friend—Franz complied.
As they walked far away from the King of Hearts and his Jack, Franz broke the silence, trying to sound polite: "A beautiful day, isn't it, milady?" He then added, "I have a group of friends from various kingdoms whom we shall visit later, if you agree."
"I agree," she replied instantly.
Her quick compliance seemed to confirm the submissive reputation of Verona's women; however, this was no ordinary girl. She was highly intelligent, and tricks did not easily fool her.
By afternoon, Franz escorted the lady to where Kuron’s carriage had just arrived, with Aru riding inside. As they met, a brief exchange took place. Looking at her with a mix of excitement and malice, Aru smirked: "Such a beautiful girl... today is going to be wonderful."
She shot him a cold, defiant look and retorted: "Who do you think you are? In your dreams!"
On their way to Sukhavati, Franz thought to himself with a smirk: "These people will be of great help to me in the future, heheh."
Just then, Leto stepped out of Sukhavati and climbed into the carriage, which Kuron himself was driving.
As they traveled, Kuron noticed a group of individuals clad in purple garments. They were none other than the spies of the Spade Empire! It was the flock dispatched to Zontopia for the espionage mission. None of the spies had noticed that they were missing one of their men.
Seeing them, one of the carriage passengers waved, and Kuron even whistled at them. The spies' cover was blown, and their punishment would surely be severe. But suddenly, it became clear that the missing spy had no intention of sending his group back to the Emperor. Instead, he simply approached Kuron's carriage and began asking casual questions: "Who are you? Where are you from?"
The spy was so entirely absorbed by Franz and his foreign companions that he hadn't even noticed his own group marching away and leaving him behind.
"Pleasure to meet you," the spy said coolly.
Silence fell over the carriage. No one answered until the young lady finally shattered the quiet wall between them: "And I as well. It is a pleasure to meet you."
The spy smiled casually, "Why don't we chat for a bit?"
At that moment, a sharp pang of jealousy hit Franz. He had never felt jealous of anyone in his entire life—but this time, he was envious of a complete stranger. The spy wasn't even remarkably handsome; it was his sheer, effortless personality that had drawn the girl in. She was gazing at him with deep admiration, which only fueled Franz's burning jealousy.
Determined to put him in his place, Franz threatened to report him: "I shall complain about you to the Emperor immediately!"
The spy merely shrugged with absolute indifference: "The Emperor is busy. He has no time for such trivialities."
Unyielding, Franz snapped at Kuron: "Kuron, drive!"
Kuron instantly obeyed, prompting the carriage forward.
"Wait!! Wait!" the spy called out behind them.
Franz ignored him completely, while the young lady kept staring back at the spy as he faded into the distance. "He is so spontaneous," she murmured, "and very handsome."
Franz countered with a sarcastic sneer, "Handsomer than your own Prince?"
The lady bristled at his sharp remark, but she quickly added, "He is kind and has good intentions. He might actually be someone important to the Emperor."
Franz’s opportunistic mind instantly believed her words. He shouted frantically to the driver: "Kuron, speed up!!!!"
Meanwhile, the spy watched them go from afar. Completely forgetting about his fellow spies, he didn't care about their departure in the slightest. He turned around and walked away, casually setting off to complete his mission.
Along the road...
Leto finally realized the truth: Franz only sought the companionship of those who stood close to kings.
Moreover, Franz himself had been utterly captivated by the spy's intriguing personality. Despite his jealousy, he deeply wanted to know him better and make this spy his closest friend.

Chapter 3: The Isolated Kingdom
The Isolated Kingdom of Sukhavati...
An overwhelming beauty stretched across the land, defined by serene landscapes and the simplicity, kindness, and tranquility of its people, much like their King, Dante, whom they affectionately titled "Dante-sama."
After Felix approved Franz's request to travel by carriage with Kuron, Franz chose not to reveal their destination to the Jack of Diamonds—Gabriel remained a mystery to him. They set off anyway, eventually coming to a halt before the towering mountains of Sukhavati. Koron did not know Dante, having never seen him at royal meetings, nor did he know Gabriel.
On their way into Sukhavati, Franz turned to Kuron, speaking with absolute firmness and pride: "I will show you King Dante."
Kuron asked, his tone skeptical and tense, "Have you ever seen him before? Do you even have the permits to see him?"
Franz himself had never seen the King of Diamonds, yet here he was, claiming he would show him to Koron?!
Upon entering the country, they spotted a group of citizens sitting together near a river, reflecting in total tranquility. Franz approached them and said, "We wish to see King Dante."
One of the citizens replied, "Dante-sama must not be disturbed."
Koron asked the man, "Who are you?"
"I am Leto," he replied. Franz quickly interrupted him with a welcoming greeting, adding, "Good, you seem to hold a high position." Leto made no comment on his remark and simply gestured, "Please, follow me..."
Inside the Café...
"Please, enjoy some tea," said another worker wearing a cooking apron as he poured red tea, infused with beneficial natural herbs, into cups arranged on a round, decorated tray.
At that moment, Franz pressed, "We wish to see King Dante."
The cook replied with a heavy heart, "Dante-sama must not be disturbed."
Frustrated and tense, Franz countered, "If something terrible happens, or if an emergency meeting arises, who will inform him?"
Kuron turned to Leto and asked, "Why? Why can't he be disturbed?"
Leto answered, "Dante-sama's attention must not be divided; he wishes to devote himself fully to meditation until he achieves perfection."
The cook remained silent, leaving Leto to speak up: "Are you insistent on seeing Dante-sama?"
"Yes," Franz said with pure eagerness.
"I am sorry, but it is impossible. Out of the question," Leto refused firmly.
By the end of the day, Franz said to Leto, "Let us be friends, with good intentions." After careful thought and deliberation, Leto replied, "Very well, on one condition—that you never ask me to meet Dante-sama." Kuron remained silent, deeply reflecting on Franz’s persistent obsession with befriending high-ranking officials.
The Spade Empire...
Specifically within a military camp, our spy stayed on high alert, preparing to cross into the Kingdom of Zontopia for a espionage mission. Spade consistently dispatched spies to all kingdoms, given that he trusted no one.
The spy said to his colleague, "The moment has come to leave the country."
His colleague replied, "Do not rush. You will face great difficulties there; they are extremely religious."
The spy casually added, "They will look at us as immigrants, do not worry," speaking with total calm to reassure his colleague about the mission.
The spy was cold, relaxed, and entirely indifferent to his surroundings or the dangers closing in on him.
Author's Notes:
I generally dislike naming minor characters; I rarely give them specific names.
This novel was written beforehand, and I am currently refining and revising it multiple times to catch any errors.
Correction: I initially thought the name was "Sukhati," but it turned out to be "Sukhavati."

Disclaimer... I have always imagined what life would be like in Korograd, and what life would be like in Waroland. I thoroughly enjoyed writing all of this, especially when describing the Kingdom of Korograd. I utilized a translator and manually corrected the spelling errors regarding the characters' names. The upcoming chapters will be released every Sunday and Thursday.
Chapter 2: Kurograd In a kingdom built on meticulous calculations where no oversight is permitted, powered by advanced technology and a labor force of engineers, blacksmiths, messengers, and officials... There lived a green refugee under Kuron's responsibility. At that time, he was still causing a stir after fleeing from the Kingdom of Waruland—a realm shackled by illusions. His flight began after someone accidentally broke his glasses, forcing him to see the kingdom's devastation, whereupon he decided to depart. Meanwhile... Kuron returned from Felixia, bearing no good news as usual. Sighing heavily, he said, "I must head to Waroland to deliver a package." Aru watched him, filled with dread and anticipation: "Don't tell me you are sending me back there!" Kuron replied angrily, "If the authority were in my hands, I would have sent you back instantly." He left Aru bewildered and anxious. Kuron set off in his four-wheel-drive vehicle. The journey was long. Upon his arrival, he stepped out, and as the gates opened for him, an officer stopped him, asking, "Where to?" Kuron replied with absolute formality, "To your esteemed King, Waru." After delivering the package and turning to leave, the very same officer who had first met him stopped him. Koron remarked, "Your kingdom is in need of reconstruction." The officer whispered with a sense of heartbreak, "I know it needs it, but our hands are tied." Kuron asked, "Why not—?" He cut himself off, knowing the question would yield no benefit. He should not stick his nose into the affairs of other kingdoms—how they were, how they looked, what they ought to do, or why they ended up this way. Back in Kurograd... "Hey you! Give me back my things!!!!" shouted one of the blacksmiths as he pursued Aru, who had stolen his belongings. Kuromeji was walking with her twin brother, Kurokaihi, when they stopped Aro in his tracks. Kurokaihi blamed him, asking, "What did you steal?" Aro replied, panting, "He was deliberately trying to sabotage Kuron's favorite armor!" The blacksmith shouted back, confessing, "Because my wages weren't delivered on time! That is why I deliberately sabotaged the armor." Kurokaihi addressed the blacksmith, "Kuron is not responsible for your wages. Why don't you go to the officials of Blacksmith Affairs?" The blacksmith turned away and returned to his work, realizing his time with them was up; arguing with them would accomplish nothing. Kurokaihi criticized, "Kuron was wrong to choose this blacksmith. His choice was not successful at all." Kuromeji agreed with him, "He was the only one who agreed to work without demanding a raise." Aru inquired, "Are their wages that meager?" Kuromeji replied with a heavy heart, "That is none of your business." On a dark night in Waruland, as the city lights flickered and the movement of the defenseless citizens dwindled... This was our officer's favorite time. Not out of a love for sleep, but to merge his thoughts with the stars and meteors. However, the voice of his colleague interrupted him, shouting: "Someone is trying to escape!!!!" Our officer remained still, poised and ready to apprehend them and throw them back into prison once again.
Franz: The Felixian Interest (Part 1) Disclaimer... First and foremost, all thanks to God, who granted me the success to write this story in my spare time. And then, thanks to you... @lnt3rfasmy
@cloudswhyy31
@shionni77 This story is entirely a work of my imagination, reflecting my own perspective on the "Land of Kings" series and its characters. The Protagonists: Franz Koron Aro A young lady from the Kingdom of Verona (The Kingdom of Romeo) A spy from the Speed Empire An officer from Waroland Leto from the Kingdom of Sukhati Enjoy ~ Blurb... Franz grew weary of Felix's deafening shouts. He decided to forge friendships across all the kingdoms—but only with those closely associated with the kings. The Era... The events of the novel take place between the end of Chapter 4 and the beginning of Chapter 5 in the comic 13 Cards: Land of Kings. Summary of Part 1... In this part, Franz searches for and selects friends from among high-ranking officials. However, in the end, a shocking revelation awaits him regarding them. Chapter 1: In Felixia On a normal, joyful day for the people of Felixia, inside Felix's lavish palace, Franz was working at a massive desk. He sighed deeply, knowing he had a mountain of work ahead of him to finish. Moments later... Felix came in shouting, as usual: "Fraaaaanz! You must hurry! King Koron's messenger is coming, and you must receive him yourself. Hurry up!" He slammed the door so hard it shook and nearly broke. At that moment, Franz crumbled under the weight of it all. He was struggling with all his might to find happiness, but to no avail. He had no friends in Felixia except Felix, who was always with him through thick and thin. In reality, everyone desires something new in their monotonous life—people who are close to the kings to make communication with them easier. Koron's carriage sped forward and parked in front of the palace. He stepped out, carrying a message for Felix regarding the Kings' meeting. Franz received him with absolute coldness and formality, and a conversation ensued between them. "I didn't expect the King to be absent," Koron said with clear resentment. Franz added, "What do you expect from this King?" Koron muttered, "Undermining him? How wretched of you." Franz felt broken inside, and though he feigned indifference, he was truly shattered: "Come in... please come in. What else am I supposed to do? I am lonely and miserable." Secretly, Koron felt pity for him. "I thought you were happy here." Silence fell... Franz turned around, leaving Koron standing there. Koron followed closely behind him, breaking the wall of silence with a touch of malice: "You are just as dramatic as your king. Stop fabricating sadness and face reality. You need someone to get you out of this kingdom." Franz asked him arrogantly, "And do I even have the audacity to leave? I never leave except by the King's order, of course, or in his company." Koron muttered with biting sarcasm, "Like property, then?" Franz was shocked by what Koron said, but he brushed it off, saying, "Not to that extent. As for being treated like a fool, that is unacceptable." Koron felt as if he had just read his mind. The conversation was cut short by Felix's arrival, bearing good news for Franz. As soon as he saw Koron, he welcomed him warmly. Felix was overjoyed that Franz had finally made a friend: "I am so glad you have a friend now~" As Koron was leaving, Franz caught up with him and said, "Let us stay in touch."
