Waiting...

So I'm sitting here in my hospital bed waiting. Waiting for yet another upper endoscopy. I haven't eaten an actual meal in weeks, probably over a month. I've been getting by using a feeding tube that's connected to my intestine. They've tried to place a stent in my esophagus three times now and each time it slid out of place. On Tuesday they tried again and it put me through the worst pain I've ever had in my life. As I type this I'm hopped up on pain killers and still am feeling a good deal of discomfort. Hell, just the thought of having a metal tube half in your esophagus and half in your stomach causes enough discomfort as it is. The goal is to let me eat. Even if I can just sample my favorite foods again, that would be such an improvement. I was told to expect to be in a lot of pain at first. I think it's worth it. I've suffered too long and too much not to be able to enjoy something that everyone else takes for granted. So here I am. Waiting.

At the hospital, once again, waiting for an esophageal stent placement. The last three attempts all failed. Let’s hope the fourth try is a charm?
