I think my affection for black men has been seen in a negative light... like some kind of fetish or obsession. I can see why it may appear like that. Look at how white men and women crave black bodies to be theirs like a trophy: something to show off to the rest of them. Look at how the media focuses on black bodies as if they are only physical beings built for the pleasure of the masses through sport, entertainment and nightly news. I don't have to prove to anyone my truth, but I'd rather tell you in my own words than for someone to view me like "one of them." Black men and women are beautiful in every way and black men and women don't ever need validation from anyone to know that.
