New chrome base. New padded seat. New plywood base. A cleaning, coloring, and waxing. This #MCM is ready for service.
Kickback is no joke. Thank goodness I had a great grip. But someone didn’t flush up the back side of the out feed table and it caught. I’m okay but boy am I frustrated this was noticed the day the out feed was made. I also take responsibility since I know better to expect someone else to notice this.
Entry doors are meant to grab the attention of bystanders and guests. Nothing says Welcome my to my slice of paradise than a grand entrance. This simple reason is why many of us strive to preserve, repair, and restore the important elements in a home. Often many of the original details of a home are being replaced for a new item that will not last or compare to the original. They are called replacements for reason. They will need to be replaced. This short video is what we call “throw back” to one year ago when @rjtboston put his trust in me to save a pair of doors for a Brown Stone in Boston.
In process a paint grade boot, shoe, sneaker, and sandal rack/case. This will be one of many. I will add a cherry top to match the other cabinetry I’ve made over the years. (at Acton, Massachusetts)

Master Lowe picture sits above my desk. A daily reminder from circa 2000 when I was punk, lost, and running. I don’t know where I would be if it wasn’t for him. Each day I try to carry his knowledge and pass on the torch to the next generation. Sadly there isn’t many to pass the torch to. But I do bust my rump to make him Mr.Lowe proud. #myhero #mymentor #myfriend thank you!
The 54 inch square walnut island counter top is about ready for delivery. (at Concord, Massachusetts)
Follow Friday #ff for me this week is my boy Jesse from @restorationwoodworks in CT! The man has the dream shop and the skills from rough to finish works The man can make cabinets and furniture! What’s crazy is that he has the eye for design, the skills@to@produce, and the setup like no other I’ve ever seen. It is just so inspiring! Perfect example is the scribe he made on the rock wall! It’s like perfect. I strive to be just as good. Give the man a follow.
One of the earlier employee time clocks in Boston. This came from a old bra manufacturing plant in Boston. (at Back Bay)

Some progress was made on this set of doors. The other set we will on next week hopefully at the time as this set. Thingy sensation on the ya da basically means time to stop for today. I find it funny how so many contractors who work in this buildings are asking me about my company I work for. Each one them are surprised that I work for myself and I got this contract. Blessed to know somebody. Blessed to have the skill.
My work isn’t always glamorous. That said everyday I make my clients happy. Perfect example, this run of the mill 50’s slant top with bookcase. Their is sentimental value and family history around this piece. But brown isn’t the flavor of today. Which is okay! A little general finishes milk paint and some pre-cat flat lacquer and we have a piece for generations to enjoy. Now that is what I love. From the woodwork in houses to Furniture we got you covered.
