Jackson

Sasha made to turn away but he kept talking and so she looked back up at him. She managed a smile when he did. “Yeah. I suppose so.” Sasha never knew what to say about it all. She found it tough to form the words sometimes, now at least as she never used to have this problem. It was like everything got stuck - much like herself. “You’re right. Makes me wish I was a little younger again.” Though she could manage to find…. a tiny bit of excitement. Somewhere. She’d always loved the time of year after all, it had been her favourite since she was a kid.

Nodding at that he glanced away before smiling a little at a thought he had. When she went on he tossed his head slightly “Don't we all kind of wish for that at one point or another, several times in our lives.” Turning away this time he started to walk again “Well, have a good day. I have to go meet someone for dinner, I don't think chatting up a teenager is going to fly with them, if I am late.”

Gemma made a face. “Yeah… definitely hard to miss that round here.” Especially since she was pretty damn sure that was what happened with her. That was the only thing that made sense. And it explained why Katya was so scared. “That’s what Christmas is about now, after all, for most people, huh?” Gemma doubted many gifts would be landing on her doorstep. It would be just another day at the cabin.

Jackson nodded at that before laughing a little bit, nervously “What else is new.  Christmas is just one more day that's made to make us spend money on it in the end, right?”  Of course he was going to get stuff, as well as give stuff. So he really didn't have much else to say on the matter “Well, I have work. I should be going.”

Gemma shrugged. There wasn’t anything to be excited about. Snow was cold and pissed her off. Christmas was going to be a complete bust and Gemma would spend it lonely and in hiding, probably angry, though hopefully she’d be able to steal something nice enough to eat. “People do seem to not be getting into the Christmas spirit.” Not that Gemma thought she knew what that meant anymore.

“And I can only wonder why they wouldn't be. In case you missed it on the news.” He laughed lightly. The dead rising seemed more of a Halloween thing, to him.  Now that it was bleeding into the Christmas holiday it seemed to be wearing thin “As long as I still get gifts, though.” Jackson remarked with a little bit of a smirk. One of his favorite things about Christmas was the gifts, of course. It was probably the only thing he liked about this time of year. Not that he was wanting much for anything.

“Oh.” Sasha deflated just a little bit. It seemed a lot of people weren’t that excited right now - her included most of the time but she did love the look of snow. “I guess.. it seems like the older people get, the less exciting it gets?”

Seeing he had somewhat killed the mood, he was debating whether or not to try and be more cheery. Jackson listen as she went on before giving a casual little shrug “I guess it can be see that way, right?” He smiled then “Though I suppose this year is hitting people a little more hard than before, for other reasons besides it being cold.” Jackson was suddenly curious of what Angelina had been doing at the moment, it was weird how distant she had become “Well, maybe it's that this time of year doesn't offer adults much, like it does children. No days off. No time to stop make a snowman.”

“It’s lovely!” Sasha needed something to smile about and she had always loved the look of the snow falling and settling on the houses and gardens.

Giving Sasha a concerned look before he glanced away, shaking his head at this “Some people would say differently.” Shaking his gloved hand he then dropped it to his side “Maybe I would think differently, If I were a kid again and had the time to enjoy it more.”

“You don’t sound too thrilled about that.” Gemma remarked, not very excited either.

Jackson gave a bored nod toward her “Yeah. It's a bit too cold for my blood.” Maybe he had gone and let himself get spoiled by trying to live in luxury, in comfort. Though he had never really liked this time of year “Seems everyone's a bit more gloomy this time of year.” And with the recent things that were going on he expected their would be a lot more, which potentially meant more business for him.
