———– 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐒 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐌𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐃 into the kitchen, clutching just above his right armpit where he’d just been stabbed by himself ( a high pain tolerance and the numbness he felt from smoking weed came in handy ). he looked at the puddle of blood on the floor and slowly began to follow the footprints that led away from it. that’s when he heard their shoes beating against the staircase as they ran down. all six feet and seven inches of him nearly fell into their arms but he stopped himself just barely by grabbing the rail of the stairs. “ oh my god - ” he turned up the sputtering “ - i’m s-so - i’m so fuckin’ glad you’re okay. ”

“it was...” she looked over the other, his full height becoming more apparent as he seemed to lean into her as casually as possible, taking up her much more petite stature. “it was insane!” she cried out, letting herself wrap an arm around his waist. “i...we need to get you to a hospital!”

———– 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄 she was ten-years-old, anya had felt like she was on her own. she didn’t have siblings and all but one of her close friends were told to stay away from her, but she’d grown to not think about it. the loneliness sucked sometimes, but at least nobody was there to tell her what she could and couldn’t do. although she usually spent her nights out alone or with her only friend, anya let a boy passing through town ( on his way to somewhere better ) take her out for the night. she didn’t know what time it was when she walked in through the back door, setting her brown cowboy boots down quietly on the scuffed up linoleum on the kitchen floor. as she was just about to make it to the threshold, she noticed the orange glow of a cigarette from the corner of the otherwise dark kitchen. “ dad ?? ” she whispered, expecting to get his half-assed lecture about leaving the house that she never took seriously.

“hey kid.” he uttered, the cigarette dulling the mood of his expression. “your mom’s not gonna like you getting home so late.” he uttered through an expansive breath, before letting himself blow some smoke out into the kitchen. “you sure seem to be in the hot seat a lot with her though.” axel had been sleeping with her mom, though was growing tired of it as it seemed to only be a ploy to get back at her husband. and as much as axel enjoyed being able to be consistent, it was falling short these days. still, he managed to hang over the counter and eye the other up and down. “you alright?”

“I just can’t believe I’m pregnant..” her hands rubbing on her stomach slowly, her forehead leaning against his for a moment. “Its like yesterday we were talking about the wedding and now we’re having a baby, i’m just in such shock that life finally wants to be good to you, and me.” It felt like they had just gotten married and now things were looking up. “I’m not even going to lie babe, i’m terrified, excited but terrified.”

“you and i...we can conquer the world together, forever.” he still knew that things weren’t always easy, or kind, but in this case, he couldn’t be happier, and he felt it all the way though. his hand hovered over hers, rubbing along the crescent of her stomach. “god i can’t wait until they’re here, our baby. that’s gonna be ours. we made something...together...” he already felt the proud papa moment as he nodded along with her words. “terrified is okay. i know you can do this. i know we can do this. i want to be there with you every step of the way.”

Ben grinned widely as they slowly pulled away the hug. They couldn’t help but giggle like an excited child as they looked her over. “This is so weird. You’re like an actual real person.” they laughed, rubbing at her arm. “I know, I’m like a surprise guest so I wasn’t in the marketing but holy fuck…I am so excited to actually meet you.” they let out a laugh as they gave her some space. “Sorry, if I’m overcrowding you. You have no idea how many free red bulls they gave me, and you already know how cool I think you are.” they waved.

“you’re like...an actual real person!” she practically quivered at the mere thought of even being in their presence. “that’s...i...shit! you’re the special surprise guest? no shit?” josefine found herself looking over them with a stare that she couldn’t quite take off of them. “i...i think people are gonna go crazy over you!” she stepped back, taking a moment to gather some sort of breath. “they’re sponsoring some tournament this year...it’s insane. all of this...it’s blown up in the past couple of years! and look at you! you’re the cool one ben!”

Eddie froze up some as the door opened. This was the closest he’d been to a person since making it out through one of the large gates. He swore he could smell Steve’s blood moving throughout his veins, he could hear his pulse. Eddie still wasn’t used to this vampire shit, but he knew it wasn’t as cool as it Dracula made it sound. “Hi.” he whispered as he pushed away the urges, his dark red eyes finally looking over the other. “Sorry, I…I didn’t know where to go. I didn’t want to scare the kids.” he said, knowing there’d be a lot of explaining to do. “Now if you’re done staring at me like I’m Houdini or somethin’ I’d love to come inside.” he said with a shiver. He was still wearing the clothes he died in, his own dried blood still smattered all over his face.

“the...the kids...” they were already so domestic. steve gulped back even further, trying to pushing their conversation outside a bit more, and trying to reel in his own thoughts that he was seeing things. “are you...are you really there?” he searched the other’s face, lingering on his eyes, before feeling his own face tighten at the thought that he might actually have a chance to say...some of the things he missed out on. “i...i don’t know what to say.” he tried, before nodding back over him. it was hard to even make any sense of. “i can’t believe it.” he was thrown into emotions, trying to figure out what to do, but instead, opting to throwing his arms around the other’s shoulders and bringing him. “i thought you were dead. we all did!”

“eh, not always. i mean… you only live once, am i right? plus, ya gotta stop letting society tell you what you should be doing and just…. do”. eddie lights the joint in between his fingers as he inhales the essence of the herb. as he blows out, he holds it out to robin, “come on, join me or i’ll consider you a NARK ,” he teases with a chuckle. 

“i...i don’t think that’s just how things happen eddie. there’s...there’s too much out there, too much danger out there to just...do.” she tried, finding a rhythm in her rambling. she took a look at the joint, then back at the smoke in the air, before narrowing her eyes. “if this ends up on any record of mine, you’re dead ed.” she took the joint, finally working on taking a inhale, before turning away and coughing out the smoke.

Eyes narrowed at her, scoffing as well. “I think this is you caring too much,” Caeleste stated. She definitely thought he overdid it at times, believed Nick needed to let up a bit and maybe… care less. “What sorta things do you think I get into?” she questioned, an amused grin on her face. “Do tell. I wanna know just how ‘exciting’ you think my life is, Nicky.” Unable to hide how smug his statement made her feel, Caeleste raised her brows. “You don’t wanna lose me? Ha,” almost like a chuckle as she leaned in a little, testing her shoulder out, “that’s cute. Didn’t realize that was what all the drama was about.”

“hey....i guess you’re gonna have to sue me.” he tried, his smirk growing across his face as he managed to give the other a shrug. “i don’t...i don’t know. and i don’t judge either kid.” he spoke to her with a singular nod. “now now...that’s...we don’t need all that.” he tried again, before finally rolling his eyes. “you’re good, sometimes too good. i know what that does to people. there are too many things at stake with you. but if it’s someone that doesn’t care that you want, then, i guess you’re gonna have to get away from here.”

“This is literally the coolest thing I’ve ever heard, in my whole life.” And Cade thought that to be true. Sutton was a genius in his eyes, and he so badly wanted to know more about what she had come up with. “AI, making decisions. That’s crazy–how long until there’s one I can talk to?” He was so excited, he could not hide it at all. Cade nodded at her question, grinning. “Absolutely. I wanna know everything about it!”

“now...cade...that’s...a bit of an over-exaggeration, don’t you think?” she looked to him, tilting her head as she placed a hand on his shoulder. “well...cade, your phone...already has...a pretty advanced system. try it, hold down that button right there and say something.” she tried teaching him about Siri with a grin. “you know you can ask me anything.”
