Decided on a whim to listen to The Lightning Thief musical soundtrack and I had honestly forgotten how good this story is and how much I love these characters, and it just made me so unfathomably angry, because the reason I had forgotten this is because this goddamn fandom had driven me away. The PJO fandom is the most toxic, unwelcoming and close-minded fandom I've ever come across, which is saying a lot, because all fandoms are hell at large. It has always been bad, but in the aftermath of the show premiering in 2023, I couldn't post anything without getting attacked for my opinions. I had to distance myself from this series that I love cause the comments really were having a negative effect on my mental health, which is strange cause internet hate usually doesn't get to me long term. But it just grew into this dread whenever I'd post something, because I knew that the response would be negative.
And fuck the PJO fandom for that. Fuck all y'all.
But bending to tyrants has never my style, so I'm not gonna keep this up anymore. I'm gonna reread the books now and I'm gonna blog about it and you are all just gonna have to deal with it.
