sometimes i think adulthood just means constantly searching for and chasing that joy you so effortlessly felt during your childhood

personally if i’m out walking and smell laundry or someone else’s cooking or campfire i immediately get hit with a wave of nearly overwhelming comfort. on account of the joie de vivre

please document your life; take pictures and videos, keep a journal & record voice memos…the most insignificant moments will become some of your favourite memories one day

just thinking of how our meaning or purpose in life is merely to experience. eating an orange segment, hoping for snow, being in love, returning over and over to one painting, stepping outside for the full moon, submersion in water, having a favourite colour, knowing beauty, feeling alone, feeling connected, feeling longing… it is enough.

thinking about all the “small” art that’s ever existed. songs that were only ever sung in one village. stories written by children that got lost in the shuffle. personal paintings that didn’t survive the test of time. how they affected the lives of just a few, but still existed, still mattered to someone.

this is not a sad post!!!! this is a celebration!!!!! art is part of the human condition!!!!!!! we were born to create and share!!!!!!!!!!!

childhood was so crazy. my parents were kind of young. a meal seemed to last forever. i could run for ages. everyone was alive

oh my god. most of life really is about the little things. a good haircut, a nice playlist, trying a new recipe that turns out well, a poem that hits home, a comfortable spot in the sun, spontaneous messages, a pen you enjoy writing with, tea with the right temperature to drink, buying that thing you’ve been eyeing for a while, a warm bed. yeah. im so grateful for the little enjoyments
