i'm tris-rapist, because i DID hurt someone once. many, many years ago. and no matter how much i hated myself for it, it was still part of me. i did that. the guilt has driven me nearly to suicide countless times, despite this being something i did when i was under ten years old.
so in the last few months, i've reclaimed that for myself. i've chosen that label. i'm not saying i should be forgiven, or that what i did was right. but if i have to live with this for the rest of my life, i don't want it to be a source of shame anymore for me.
i feel like people SHOULD be allowed to reclaim tris/cisrapist for themselves. because nobody fucking deserves that struggle of pain for anything.
i dunno how to make it clear, i'm not defending rape. i'm defending people who choose to align themselves with it. nobody deserves to fucking suffer, and if choosing that for themselves allows them to find peace, then do that.
we believe in self identification, in change and growth. why is this different? i'm not gonna go out hurting people, i don't want to hurt people. but i don't want to hurt either. so i choose this for myself.
