The cautionary statement sounded as though muffled from behind a thick cloth—passing through cotton stuffed in his ears, emanating from within a tin can. Then, against the advice of whomever had been addressing him, he shot up straight like a spring-trap, adrenaline surging violently in retaliation of his weakened state, like a defibrillator shocking someone back to life. Fully aware now, he glanced about himself, and swiftly realized that he was most definitely not in a familiar setting. Every fiber of his genetics was on the alert, and he turned his head towards the only other being in the room—

Well he didn't seem to be fatally wounded, at least. But the apparent lack of broken bones didn't mean there wasn't anything internal going on. Her still confused gaze settled on his features, which seemed to tell a story of their own. Would a cure spell be helpful?
