I really hated how Rina backtracked Eli's feelings for Ava and said he didn't notice her until college. I think as he got a little older, maybe he convinced himself she was too young, he dated other girls, etc. instead of just waiting forever for Ava.
But I don't think it makes any sense for him to have ‘never noticed' her until they were adults when we see multiple instances of him being crazy about her, literally from the day she's born. Like. He kissed her upon meeting her. He called her beautiful. He asked for advice on a marriage contract. He’s been all in for Ava- on and off -since the day she was born.
