1. people ignore half of her character (whether it be big details or small ones). like genuinely i have not heard ANYONE talk about how she was dependant on michael as a child on stage and the fact that he wasnt with her in 7th grade and she was getting bullied like hell was what caused her stage fright. she felt like she couldnt do it because everyone seemed to be judging her AND her dad wasnt there!!!

2. her relationship with jake. hoooooooolyyyyyyy shittttttt i see people read it wrong all of the time. it feels like all people do is look at them romantically. i am a HUGE jailey shipper, it is my otp ship of all time, but people need to understand that their *friendship* is the biggest part of them. they have romantic udnertones, yes, but their friendship is what pushes them to be better. jake grows attached to hailey, and hailey depends on jake. also, i need to mention that people are always like “ohh hailey doesnt need a man to protect her!! jake didnt need to stand up for her in ep11!” …a man grabbed her arm. she was holding her arm in shock & probably a bit of pain for about 15 seconds. yall… she was getting harassed and froze.

3. her beliefs. i see people fuck this up so badly omg. hailey is a FORGIVING person. hailey wants to see the best in people. hailey is a kind soul. she considers jake family because nobody else made it into the club from auditions and proved such a change like he did. hailey was the first person jake was truly vulnerable with, she knows that. also, something that really gets on my nerves is the fact that the fandom is convinced she changed. hailey never went through some drastic change. everyone grieves gacha life hailey but she never went away. the show is from jake’s POV and hailey clearly had walls up around him, but they slowly went away. hailey is still sassy and has good comebacks. hailey in the first 4 episodes was also forgiving and sweet, that is a part of her character too. also her old VA was australian so her american accent was a lot sharper and stiff than her current va’s is. she wasnt more sassy, she was defending herself from her fuckinh bully, i dont get how people dont notice that

people can disagree with me, but hailey is genuinely the second best written character in this show and i will fight people on that. im tired of her mischaracterization, especially because people just choose to ignore her or it stems from misogyny (which is HUGE in this fandom)
