Clarke exhales as she runs her hands down the soft fur. Whenever she had imagined her wedding as a little girl, she was always wearing white, like in the Old Earth movies she used to watch back at the Ark. She is not committing to a life with someone she loves today though, she reminds herself. She is entering an alliance to secure her people’s future, and looking like she’s ready for battle seems appropriate.
