Controversial take: I actually don't mind how the kids work in stardew valley. I do wish they would they would look like your spouse, but gameplay wise I don't mind 'you click on them once a day and forget about them'. Maybe its because I don't want kids irl. I don't hate them or anything, kids just aren't my thing
