Photoetched parts involve very small metal parts that are produced by means of the photochemical process from usually a sheet of thin metal. This process involves etching a metal extensively or in some cases etching the surface of the metal alone but with a very high precision in order to get minute and exact flat parts of any shape and form. Note that, with the aid of some special tools, metals can be photo-etched at home. And also bear in mind that, photo-etching parts are not all the same, in fact, itβs made of different materials like steel, nickel, brass and it also has diverse thickness level too. Photo-etched microelectronic parts are usually shiny and can at times look chrome plated, flat and dull. This type is quite easier to make and also remarkably less expensive than the rubber-backed parts. But note that, itβs a lot hardr to work with compared to the rubber-backed parts that are far easier to remove, very expensive and also difficult to come across.
