I've done my time in fe argument mines. ive conceded that intsys sometimes knew what they were doing. I've even come around on fates. im not paying approx £460 for a fucking persona game

not really keeping up w fe18 news bc im busy rn buuuttt the way the dialogue portraits are animated is genuinely so aggravating. STOP watching vtubers and trying to make everything work like a vtuber. what on earth are you gaining by having the dialogue portrait wobble slightly for three or four seconds then lock into place and go still. it's just distracting and irritating and it pulls your eyes away from trying to read the dialogue. it is the worst of both worlds: it has to be animated so it can't be a clear and communicative illustration of the character's emotional state, but it also can't move around too much because it needs to snap to still after a few seconds. so the emotion isn't clear and readable throughout, the 3d animation can't actually make any use of the space or the fact that it's 3d, it is squandering the benefits of both options to make something noticeably worse looking than either. it just looks so fucking bad!

thought on it some more and i think i would be happy if it was so bad intelligent systems ltd stopped making fire emblem games
