Onyx

A curious court member

Stumbling apon a plight

A band of misfit rebels

What a colorful sight

She wished to aide their cause

Though at first she took it light

Brought along her servant

In ogling did delight

But her own secrecy

Would soon much trouble cause

A trial

A stand

A moment at hand

Her servant

Her friend

Her life for theirs traded

Hers spared

theirs shattered

Her spirit now jaded

Her position upheld

But she felt the chains

Once free and happy

Just a shell still remains

But a shell still can hold

The yolk of an idea

The secrets still kept

Of rebels left and held dear

When given a charge

The authority would've broken

She sends them away

To repay words unspoken

Though risking herself

She will not back down

Not again

Never again

The burden of guilt begins to be unbound

If she can't die for her treason

She'll live for the memory

Of the one who tried to guide her

Of the one that stayed beside her

Of the onewho made life lighter

Of the one who she adored

Of the one who lied for her

Of the one who died for her

Of the others she didn't even try to save

Despite the fact doing so would have lead to her grave.

Bur the right thing isn't simple is it?

Of course not.

Curiosity could have killed the cat

But instead the stroll stole
