I know you've done this request before so sorry if it's repetitive, but could I please request how the rescue bots would act to their human s/o calling them their husband? Like you did with some of the tfp bots? if not that's okay I love all your work thank you for writing for the rescue bots too! They're so underrated i love them
It's before they've been revealed to the public as sentient beings, so Heatwave probably shouldn't be as pissed off as he is. But he also knows for certain that when he cuddled you this morning, he left the scent of his polish on you and your clothes. So what this other human must be thinking, hitting on a taken human, is beyond him.
You lean back onto his driver-side door, field humming low with awkward irritation as the human continues to drop lines. They grin and wink, hand on their neck while the other reaches out, extending their offer to a night on the town.
"Sorry," you say as Heatwave's engine starts to grow louder, "but I'm married. My husband wouldn't like me going out on dates."
"Ah!" The human winces, but shuffles back. "Oh, sorry!"
Heatwave makes an approving rumble against your back. Husband... He likes the sound of that, whatever it means, so long as it keeps other humans from trying to stake a claim on his conjunx... Not that he'd probably ever call you that to your face. Not yet, at least.
"It shouldn't take too long." Charlie tells you, hand on Chase's open door. "We'll do a quick patrol and then give Doc Green a visit to make sure no new inventions are about to debut."
You hum, hands on your hips in a display that Chase knows means you're not pleased. Still, you relent. "Alright, but you better be careful with my husband, and bring him back in one piece."
Charlie laughs, but Chase stays silent. Husband? He knows what that word means from doing studies on human romance culture, but last he checked, he did not start any of the procedures that would end with him gaining the title of your husband.
"When did I become their husband?" He asks Charlie, once they're headed off into town. "I don't recall a wedding. Were my memories wiped by a machine of Doctor Green's??"
"No, Chase." Charlie says with a soothing pat to his steering wheel. "They called you that because they love you and they want you to be their husband."
"Oh." Chase remains silent for a while, listening to Charlie hum to himself as they drive along. "... How does one propose?"
It's not unusual for him to be the brunt of the joke. He tends to react a little stronger than any of his other team members, so they like to tease him the most. Blades takes it as well as he can, though he does pouts and tries to defend himself. But that's the reality of being on a team with bots he considers his closest friends.
Blades starts, surprised to feel a soft body wrap around his pede. He looks down, to where you're clinging to him, sending a sullen glare at the others, also shocked silence by your interjection.
"Don't be meant to my husband!" You demand, pointing at Heatwave and the others. "He's a great Rescue Bot and I love him to bits!"
If you say anything else, Blades can't hear it. His servos fly to his face to cover his optics and muffle his squeal at how sweet and cute you are. He can feel his wings spinning, the wind whipping around until he starts to hover. You cling tighter to him, your organic field fraught with amusement.
"I'm husband!" Blades chirps to himself.
Blades hopes he gets to hear that forever.
"Hm.... pumpkin butter!" You say, grinning. Your eyes are sparkling with mirth and the dying sunlight.
Boulder smiles back. "Hm, you're my springtime shower."
Cooing, you glance up to the sky, thinking. "How about... my sound foundation?"
That gets Boulder chuckling. "Good for building?"
"Perfect for starting something meant to last." You agree with a wink. Seeing the big bot smiling down at you, bathed in the sunset, so at home on a world that is not his own, you give life to a thought that flutters briefly through your head. "My husband."
Boulder's optics widen slightly. "Husband?" You don't elaborate, face warm and turned away. Boulder watches you for a moment, then something in his face softens considerably. "Well, that makes you my conjunx, then, doesn't it?"
Even more flustered, you burying your head in your hands. Seems those pet names are going be the ones that stick.
