October 14th, 2018 ~ “ The start of a happy ending” Part 2
M: “ I’m sorry for asking but…are you alright?”
Fabian shrugged a little, he supposed he wasn't doing a very good job at hiding the hurt from his face.
F: "My.... ex.... slept with my bestfriend. She's not- not a bad person it just. It happened while we were- and now shes pregnant and I get told it might not even be mine and I can't..."
He spoke in broken sentences as he tried to form the words on his lips.
Molly's eyes widened as he told her what happened. She had no idea what to say, it seemed like one of those scenarios off Jerry Springer.
M: "You don't have to say anything else, I understand what's going on. I'm so sorry you've been placed in this difficult situation. Were you able to talk to your friend and your ex about possible solutions?"
He paused and then shook his head, mostly in shame. He'd stormed out. He'd yelled. He'd done the complete opposite.
F: “I don't know how to have a kid with the girl I love when she doesn't even-”
Her heart hurt for him and she quickly and without realizing, grabbed his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.
M: “Please don't cry sir! I don't think your ex or your best friend did what they did with the intention of hurting you. I bet they are feeling very similar to you right now, this situation would be hard for anyone involved."
He gave her hand a gentle squeeze back without even realizing it. But he also realized he didn't ever wanna let go, everything of himself was screaming at him not to let go of her hand.
F: "Fabian. What... what do you think I should do? I don't even... know..."
Fabian. She gave him a smile and thought he had a pretty name. She looked down at the ground and thought of how she might handle the situation, no one ever asked her for advice so she wasn't used to it.
M: “ I think if it were me, I would go back to them and have a talk. I would want to know all of the information and figure out where everyone stands, and my name is Molly."
F: “ Yeah I'll- I guess I could try that.”
He offered her a smile that was small but meaningful, and found himself wondering what her smile looked like too. Frankly, he wanted to know everything about her despite her still being a stranger. He felt a want and a burning attraction that just about almost made him forget why he was feeling sad.
She watched his mouth turn from a frown, to a small smile and that alone made her feel like she had accomplished something.
She looked down at her hand still in his and it made her feel all types of happy feelings in her stomach and she wasn't sure why. Joshua's face flashed in her head and she felt guilty for touching another man, even just a hand and she slipped it out of his grip, feeling a huge sense of loss and longing to put it back.
M: “ I really hope things work out for you Fabian."
He felt the loss of her hand like a burning in his chest, he wanted to grab it again but his mind whirled, he didn't even know anything about her besides her name.
He gave her a wider smile that he knew shows off some of his tooth gap. It didn't quite reach her eyes but he wanted to give her a smile even if he didn't feel like smiling.
M: "Its not a problem, and you should smile like that wherever you go, it surely just brightened up my day and I bet it could do the same for everyone else."
M: "It was really nice meeting you Fabian, good luck with everything!"
