Peach

Nanami lets out a quiet gruff as he sets down the last box from the moving van onto the coffee table by the kitchen. A hand on his lower back, a small stretch, and a look around this cardboard and bubble wrap kingdom as he takes everything in.

He slowly sways you against him to the perfect sound of silence- a luxury he hadn't had in his corner of the world up until now. Your eyes were closed, head against his chest as you listened to the steadiness of his heart. The orange curtains that hung on the windows cast a golden glow around you two, creating shadows of a new life together. A large garden in the front and backyard, a quiet and secluded neighborhood, a porch for the two of you to spend time watching sunsets, a shared office space, and an alcove window to read every book he owns.

He breathes out, eyes closed, cheek against your head as he imagines every early morning with you. Coffee, tea, or even just a simple glass of water in the morning. Falling into routine of making breakfast when you decide to sleep in, or mowing the lawn to the perfect height, putting up bird feeders and baths around his gardens, hanging laundry on the clothesline and racing to get it all back inside before the storm rolls in. It's a mundane life to anyone else. But to Kento, it's the perfect kind of mundane he didn't know he needed.

So here he stands, surrounded by cardboard boxes, packing peanuts, popped bubble wrap, and books littered about with his dream in his arms. His old cloth wrapped cleaver sits closed and locked in a polished oak box, names written all over with little notes of luck, prosperity, and... a cartoonish drawing of someone with a blindfold that you don't recognize.

"Is that everything?" He hears you ask against the warmth of his chest, arms still gently wrapped around him. He looks around, surveying the organized chaos of moving.

"Yeah, that all of it." He knows it's going to be a good amount of time before everything is settled in its place but he doesn't mind one bit. Kento knows that he doesn't have to think too much about anything anymore. He doesn't have to think about the "What comes next?" the way he did as a sorcerer.
