Step back everyone! We’re not waiting for the linguist. Our readings show that this is the generator that powers the forcefield. Time for some tough love.

We’ve done our first casual search through Rata Novus and found a very interesting area.

It seems that after years, maybe even centuries, this magical forcefield is still active. What secrets could these asura have kept hidden behind this area? I am very thrilled to go and explore it, but we have not found a way in yet.

The writing here is in another dialect, so I’m afraid I can’t read it. We’ve requested the help of a linguist from Rata Sum, maybe they can help.

Why am I in Rata Sum, you ask?

Where to even start? It has been a chaotic few weeks...

Qwinzle finally figured out that I don’t have a guardian to watch me in Divinity’s Reach and threw a fit from there to the Shiverpeaks. It was quite frightening!

So she went and decided that I needed a mentor like any other progeny and that she is just the female for the job.

What does that mean? No more adventures for me for the time being... I’m stuck studying in Rata Sum all day, every day.

Life blows!

It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I’m afraid that the state of Rata Novus left me in a state of despair for quite some time. I couldn’t see my purpose anymore.

Am I some grand hero, out to safe the world? There are countless others who are far better suited for it.

Am I a peacemaker then, keeping Rata Sum safe? My political failings have left me at the bottom of the barrow there too, with no hope of regaining status.

And then it hit me. I am asura! We value science and knowledge above all else, and I am in a city filled with such. Granted, it may be a bit spread out, most of it destroyed in fact... But this is still an asuran city! Our people would never let everything be destroyed again after our flight from the underground. There should still be valuable research here, and I’m going to make it my goal to find it.

It may not be as exciting as dopey peacemaker running around the jungle, but it is my purpose. I hope my family and friends will understand that I simply must stay here, and I hope that you people will enjoy this part of the story as much as the other parts.

Rata Novus has been completely destroyed. I can’t believe this.

I had a purpose when I went to the jungle, but I’ve long lost sight of it. I was going to help rescue the survivors, and help I did. Countless other adventurers and heroes are fighting the dragon, trying to find a way to stop him while others take care of the wounded and the lost.

I thought I had found my quest when I heard about the lost Rata, but now it turns out that it’s nothing but rubble.

I’m sorry chak-thing, but you are in my way. My information tells me that the tunnel you are guarding will lead me to Rata Novus. Time to die.

This definitely looks asuran! I wonder if it still works? Time for that later, moving on!

Wauw...just wauw...

This is it! This tunnel will lead me to the lost Rata! I’m so excited!

I’m in! Let’s not get lost for a change, shall we? Grand!

I needed some time to recuperate after fighting all those chak, so I stayed with the hylek for a few days. The stories they tell about Rata Novus are not very promising. I believe they called it a “dark pit of despair”. I sincerely hope they are overreacting.

I can finally resume my search for Rata Novus. I’m looking for some friendly locals to tell me more about them. As per usual I am lost. This whole mess of a jungle could use some asura road-planning.

Yikes, more of those creatures! I best not linger. I’ve been told that they are called chak and that they are attracted to ley lines. You know, those nodes of magical energy. I haven’t seen them do anything specifically magical though. I wonder what they use it for?

We’ve managed to slay the beast, but I have a sneaking suspicion...

I really, really want to go and find Rata Novus, but when someone begs you on their knees to help them, you help them. No really, it’s in the peacemaker handbook. Look it up. It seems that a mysterious creature has terrorized these survivors for some time now, picking them off one by one. I’ve agreed to help hunt it.

Asura are an underground race originally, but that doesn’t mean we like the dark. Specially if it is filled with eerie green lights. I’m almost inclined to think that this is some sort of prank. I mean, dark caves with creepy lighting only happens in stories, right?
