There wasn’t a lot of information available to Players. It wasn’t like they could just google anything about themselves and find legitimate information.
Pax would need to look into their very Soul.
If their Soul behaved like they thought it did.
Kris had been supportive of Pax so far. Pax’s lips pulled into a soft smile.
Everything about that kid warmed Pax to their core. Seeing Kris go from withdrawn and quiet to bouncy and excitable over the years- particularly in the past months- was something they drew on often.
Love for their kiddo swelled in them.
And Pax felt a burst of strength.
Their eyes snapped open. That burst would happen any time they thought of Kris with fondness. And all of Kris’s friends. And the other Darkners and Lightners. Anytime they drew on a memory of their kid, it powered them.
Perhaps that literally fueled Pax’s soul?
If they felt the same thing with other video games s, did that mean their influence worked there, as well?
Pax patted Megabird’s head again and looked over to Kris, who was busying themself with something Pax should probably put a stop to.

Pax absentmindedly scratched Megabird’s head, their eyes blank and mouth a thin line as they focused their energy elsewhere. The pigeon sat in their lap, content as can be.
They could do things they didn’t understand, and couldn’t do things they could understand. Having their link to Kris severed felt like getting trapped in a stuffy closet- powerless and choking.
