i am finally beginning to understand that the job i was hired for (build software for a company that does not care about software) is now a different thing (support company in appearing to be competent in AI to sell services to customers). they don't want me to use ai to do my old job bc they have never cared abt my old job and they don't actually caaaare that ai can do it really well. jfc

being a software engineer right now is like u need to change from a pc to a mac. and i'm like do u have licenses for the mac equivalent of anything we have windows licenses for and they're like no. why would u need an application to write or run code in. then they're like we're moving all the codebases to github. but not any of the pipelines. btw the version of your codebase that we moved is from 3 months ago. hey i need you to teach this accountant how to code, but the thing is, he should be able to do it by typing only two commands. his computer is from 2008. if it takes too long or is too complicated, he won't do it, so you need to make sure he will do it. if his code isn't good enough you need to replicate the functionality he was trying to create yourself quickly enough that he thinks you just approved his code. to meet expectations, you need to file a patent every quarter. i'm not exaggerating abt any of these things.
