I will be joining the Knight Foundation as their director/journalism focusing on technology innovation on Jennifer Preston’s team starting May 30. I will oversee investments and initiatives designed to drive transformational change in news media. I will connect a diverse network of entrepreneurs, innovators, journalists and creative thinkers to develop new digital products and applications. I will help explore new models and methods that can sustain the future of journalism.

It has been an amazing 7-year run at the AP. Working with AP journos from around the world have been one of the greatest pleasures of my career. From breaking news events, like tsunamis and oil spills, to four Olympics, two U.S. presidential elections and one train crash, we created meaningful interactives, visual-rich multimedia narrative, hi-impact data visualization/video explainers and now, immersive virtual reality experiences. I owe my successes to the dedication of my team. I have grown to be a better journalist and a better leader because of them. Thank you AP!
