While I’m often on the side of “just let stupid people do stupid things” (like smoke), I generally draw the line when that involves them posing a danger to others (such as driving while texting), so I’m (generally, everything in moderation) fully in support of phones and apps forcing people to pay the fuck attention to the road instead of their fucking phones. That said, I’m not surprised that Apple refuses to do such a thing without a lawsuit. These the same people who can’t be bothered to use a standardized charging port because “fuck you”.

Phone companies should in no way be forced to incorporate things on their phones to stop people from texting while driving. First of all anything that can be implemented can be worked around and determined people are going to do stupid things with their phones regardless. It’s like people who just told Pokémon Go “I’m a passenger” even when they weren’t. And Apple isn’t the only company that makes phones nor are phones the only way to distracted drive. This lawsuit is, on its face, ludicrous. It is not the phone company’s responsibility to make sure people don’t act like idiots, nor should they be held criminally responsible for people acting like idiots.

Somebody should make an app for that.

I don't accept this. It is not my responsibility to stick with the Democrat Republican paradigm. I found both choices to be repugnant. I doubt I'll ever vote for either party at the federal level again. You have two private corporations that have essentially taken over our most fundamental right and responsibility. Neither represents my vision of America.
