There's something. Maybe it's because he's always noticed how hockey guys look at him, the subtleties of how they try and don't try to hide it. He's learnt to read people like him, except he isn't like them, and therefore it's harder to get a read on him than he'd like it to be. It's only when he holds his gaze, when Ryan truly looks at him, that he realises his gut feeling is that he meant it and isn't that baffling. He's the biggest hockey player his family has billeted. Fabian was sure the second he saw him that once his parents were out of the way, he'd be walking around like he owned the place, and yet as he watches him enter the room, watches how he exhales, Fabian can't help feeling like he's just done to Ryan what all those boys do to him. With an irritated huff, he enters the room and opens the wardrobe. "My parents tend to put anything in here that previous billets left behind and didn't claim. It's all washed," he gives Ryan a once-over before looking back at the clothes, "if any of it fits you, help yourself. I know you guys tend to have like two shirts and a pair of pants you rotate." He shudders in genuine horror at the thought before he moves over to the bookcase. There's literally no reason to give him a tour of his bedroom, Fabian. It's a fucking bedroom. "Books, of course, are all hockey mindfulness bullshit, and my dad will probably end up giving you a reading list by the end of the stay." He moves back over to the suitcase, putting a hand on his hip as he stares down at it and back up to Ryan. "Do you listen to music much?"
He doesn't move. Scared that if he does, he may spook the beautiful boy currently moving around his room as if he --- well, he does, technically, own the place. Ryan just watches him, feeling a little dumbstruck. His heart is racing, anxiety making his mouth taste coppery and his breath turn shallow, but it's not the kind of anxiety that he's used to. It's...different. Like last year when that kid from drama club asked him to help hang something and smiled at him. His skin feels tight and flushed and he's sure that his cheeks are turning pink and he should probably say something. There's nothing worse than being big and quiet. Colleen tells him that it's creepy. And the last thing he wants to be towards Fabian is creepy.
"I brought a sweatshirt," He supplies lamely, glancing down at his bag and lamenting the fact that Fabian isn't wrong. He only has a few pairs of clothes --- but it was mostly so that he could make room for a few more books to bring. Colleen just got him a new copy of Anne of Green Gables and he didn't want to leave it behind. The mention of books has him perking up slightly, only to deflate when Fabian accurately describes the titles as Hockey mindfulness bullshit. Sure enough, a quick scan of the titles confirms the statement and Ryan scratches the back of his neck. It's only further confirmation that other hockey players aren't like him. They don't read female-centric literature. They don't have fiery red hair. They don't get tongue-tied around pretty boys.
"Music? Yeah. Yeah I --- I mean I do, I just don't..." He tries to figure out what to say to make it sound impressing. "I like... classical? And uh, I don't know. Softer stuff, I guess. Compared to what the other guys usually play. Do you...like music? Or, uh, reading?" Maybe he'd have better luck if he stopped looking at Fabian as if he wasn't hanging on his every word, breath, and muscle twitch. If he was casual. Cool. Laid back.
see the great thing about teej is that he doesn't really live in the area, and so he doesn't just randomly appear on ryan and fabian's couch nearly as often as the others. that being said, with vanessa and charlotte tied together at the hip, he's found himself in canada more often than the ex first son really should. and usually when he finds himself in canada. . . he finds himself on this couch.
" oh shit! " he chuckles, taking a sip from the beer bottle in his hands. he's not a terrible house guest, he did bring a six pack with him. " uh dinner is great. i was just with char and vanessa so food was not our top priority you know. " his eyes twinkle. he's as sober as he normally is.
he does know . in fact , he still sometimes has stress dreams about how little vanessa , charlotte , and fabian tend to prioritize food or water when they go out . fabian , at least , he can usually bribe to eat a few appetizers , and experience has proven that vanessa will take at least 3 shots of water before realizing that it's water . but whenever teej comes to visit , all of that goes out the window .
ryan shakes his head with a fond smile , making a brief pitstop at the fridge to take out a sports drink , uncapping it and handing it out to the former first son . " drink this please . --- you have any food preferences ? " he's getting better at cooking . and by that , he mostly means that he's learning to navigate the spice cabinet with greater confidence . " you can't say alcohol . "
his smile grows when he sees his body relax the moment they start to talk about fabian. he can’t help but reach over and give him a nudge. “you two make a very gorgeous couple. you’re also stunning, ryan — and i’m not gonna allow you to try and convince me otherwise so accept the damn compliment.” there would have been a time where the shared look between the two of them would have made kyle want to roll his eyes — part of him always bitter because he never thought he’d find love or anything close to it. but god, he lives for those moments now with eric — where they’ll catch each others eye from across the room and everything seems lighter. warmer. like he could do anything and it wouldn’t matter because he’s in love. “mm, good. you deserve to celebrate it.” kyle laughs at ryan’s distain for flirting, shaking his head and flicking his hair from his face. “never work at a gay bar, then. because flirting kind of comes with the territory.” luckily, eric’s never been the jealous type, and he even enjoys watching him from time to time. “you’ve never flirted with fabian before? i guess i don’t know your story.”
"he makes me better." it's about all that he's willing to admit when it comes to his own judgment or looks. knowing that it's probably rude if he spends the majority of this night staring at his boyfriend and neglecting conversation with anyone else, ryan forces his focus back to kyle. "i uh, i don't think i'd do great working at a gay bar." he flushes, dipping his head a bit. the question makes the flush worse, however, and ryan can't suppress a small groan as he drags a palm over his face. "they were my billet family before i was in the league. i uh...no. i couldn't flirt. couldn't even really talk to him." and then he almost kissed him and spent the next decade pretending that he wasn't still hooked on a boy he knew when he was seventeen. "i ran into him a little while ago at the pharmacy and we just started...hanging out." and now that he thinks about it, maybe it's bad that they never really did the flirting thing. fabian is, more than anything, a flirt. ryan gives kyle an inquisitive look. "is that important? the flirting thing? i mean i could...work at it. i guess."
Kip keeps his expression neutral through the confession, but can’t help the way he softens. Ryan Price isn’t exactly a baby gay, but the anxiety rolling off of him makes Kip feel weirdly protective. “Hey, don’t apologize.” Kip pats Ryan’s massive arm gently. “Thanks for telling me.” He had assumed this, but it’s nice to have it confirmed.
“I think… for the right person, none of that would be too much. You would work together to make it work. Whether that’s him moving with you or traveling to visit when he can, or some other middle ground. If it’s right, then it works out. You make sure it works out.” Maybe what he’s saying is all bullshit. After all, Scott isn’t being traded regularly like Ryan. There’s almost zero chance that he would have to follow Scott to another city. But he would. As much as he loves New York, and having his friends and family close, he would. If someone loves Ryan the way Kip loves Scott, then he can’t imagine they wouldn’t do anything to be with him.
Kip gives one Ryan’s arm one more gently squeeze before letting go. “Can I ask… I know it’s obviously got its challenges but… how hard is it really to be a gay player? I know not every team is like the Admirals. Not as welcoming as they’ve been.” Even with the NHL’s Pride nights and events and simple but polite inclusive social media posts, there’s not a chance that everyone involved is an ally.
Kip is kind. He radiates it in a way that few people do, and Ryan doesn't have the heart to lie to him. But he will stall a bit, contemplating the best way to answer that question as he scratches blunt nails against his beard, then to the nape of his neck. Across the room, Ryan glances at Scott. "It's probably not as bad as you think, and also...worse than you'd want. And it's probably different for Scott, being with the same guys. The Admirals have a good culture. Good guys." Even if Hunter wasn't around, Vaughn was always a good guy. And the rest of the team followed by example.
Ryan thinks over the other teams that he's played for. Thinks about what the next season might bring. His agent thinks he might he traded to Toronto, and Toronto means Dallas Kent. Ryan exhales and feels his shoulders slump a little. "People make jokes. Comments. Typical shit that you'd expect in a locker room," But the same can be said for how they talk about women, or any other minority.
"I guess it's more the business side that starts to suck. Having to live up to a name or a brand or something, and a lot of times being gay doesn't fit into that. You could probably lose sponsorships, or get traded, or they could blacklist you." There are guys who have tried to be out. Or who were more out than he is, and usually, they don't have a long career. They just...fade. Or they're labeled as difficult. "They mostly want to protect the players that make the most money though, so it just depends. Hunter is in a good spot for them to..." The word trail off and turn rancid in his mouth, but he forces them out anyway. "Tolerate it, I guess."

“i’m still getting used to that,” his nose wrinkles, which doesn’t make his smile falter, but only grow, “calling each other by your last names. i guess it makes sense — with the jersey’s and all. but i swear anytime someone starts talking to me about benny it takes me a minute to get who they’re talking about.” even though they’ve known each other for years, he knows kip has been hanging out too much with hockey players when he starts calling him swift over babes or kyle. he nods, letting out a soft sigh. “i wish i’d had something like this growing up. but i grew up in a small town where people swore gay people didn’t exist.”
kyle listens and nods, noting that it’s difficult for ryan to talk about and despite every nosy piece of him that wants to know — he bites his tongue to stop from asking more questions. he knows there’s something ryan is skirting over — he can see it because he’s done the same thing, but he knows better than to push. he offers him a smile and he nods. “and that thing just so happens to be fabian salah?” he lets out a whistle and flicks some of his hair from his face. “stupidly talented and hot fabian salah? oh to be you for a day.” it’s sighed and wistful but he wouldn’t change his own life at all. he wouldn’t trade eric or anyone in his life for anything other than him. “well, i’m glad you’re here, and that we have the chance to be friends.” he pulls his phone from his pocket to hand it over — his background a picture of him and eric from their time in greece. “you don’t seem like the talkative type, but if you ever need someone to talk to, i’m just a message away.”
ryan smiles, understanding the sentiment. sure, growing up in nova scotia didn't feel as small town as kyle's upbringing probably did, but it had similar feelings. except, his parents were his parents. which means they're pretty much the best. beyond accepting and encouraging. but they were only two people against a sport that has historically been masculine to the point of problem. "me too." it's why he loves it here so much. these camps mean something, and they really are changing things.
the small smile turns into something bigger, lighting up his entire face as ryan seems to inflate a little. "it's better than you can believe." he brags, never one to let an opportunity to flaunt his other half. "i hope this doesn't come out the wrong way," ryan states, glancing from the picture and then up to kyle before he taps his number into the contacts. "i'm surprised you and benn--eric," god it feels too formal addressing the former-goalie that way, "aren't more...public? you're just...well you're you. flirty and...outgoing, and stuff. and he---" he doesn't know how to explain eric bennet without sounding a little wistful. "he's confident."

Brief horror flashes over Marcos’ face. Max is hot, yeah ( no one’s debating that ), and he’s an amazing guy, but gross. Neither of them had ever felt anything more than their platonic devotion to one another, and Marcos is perfectly happy with that. “Best friends.” He corrects, finally tearing his eyes away from Max to look at Ryan. Ever since he showed up, Max has been different. A little lighter. Which is good, and weird, but definitely good.
“What about you? You’re just his coach, right?” It’s accusatory, and on some level Marcos knows he shouldn’t be so rude to someone helping his friend, but he’s suspicious. Even though Max hasn’t said anything that would even hint at anything untoward or inappropriate from Price. Though Max tends to keep anything big to himself lately. Getting him to open up is like herding cats: impossible and infuriating. And Marcos worries. God he worries. Every hesitation, every bad dream, every time Max leaves the house Marcos is panicking. And now he’s working with this random guy — not really random, but Marcos’ brain is screaming at him that Ryan Price a threat. He’s huge! And known for knocking down his opponents! Max isn’t a small guy, but Ryan definitely has the advantage.
He's sure that his face does something at the direct question. Some kind of twist or contortion that conveys shock and disgust in equal measure. He's over a decade older than Max, and he's his coach. The power imbalance alone would have been problematic, and that's not even mentioning the fact that Max is clearly still traumatized and vulnerable. "Just his coach." He confirms, reaching into his sweatpants pocket to pull out his phone, flicking through it and finding his recent photos to pull up one of Fabian and their bird, Chirp, from the day before.
Ryan shifts and holds the phone out to show Marcos, as if it somehow answers his implied question. "My boyfriend." He explains, thumb swiping to another photo from Fabian's latest show. His boyfriend is grinning, curls damp with sweat, skin flushed, microphone still in hand. Ryan smiles at it for a moment before pulling his phone back. "Not interested in anyone else. Ever." He studies Marcos for a moment, trying to size him up as best as he can. "Max is a good player. A good kid." He wants to say more. To ask about what happened, about when it became apparent that Max wasn't okay. But it's not his business, and he doesn't want to overstep too much. Not when Marcos clearly thinks that he's the enemy here. "I've been coaching him. And I'm trying to get him connected to my friend's foundation for uh, mental health stuff."

Ryan can drive. - YES! Although he probably hasn't in awhile and does not currently own a car ( after his third or fourth trade, it just became too much of a hassle to move and so he sold it and never bothered replacing it ). He definitely buys a car again when Fabian starts touring.
Ryan is very good at walking in platform heels. - Absolutely not. Fabian once makes him try it ( for vibes ) and it was like Bambi learning to walk. Ryan twisted his ankle. He joked that if he had still been playing, it would have been a career-ending injury.
Ryan is a switch. - You know it baby. Although he prefers topping, he's not opposed to bottoming, it just takes him a little more time and effort to finish.
Ryan reads Ao3. - He has, because colleen once tried to put him onto the world of Anne of Green Gables fanfiction when he was mourning the fact that he'll never have a new Anne book to read. He read one and hated it because Anne was so out of character that he felt offended.
Ryan has punched a hole in their wall. - Yep. As a teenager, and then he cried about it and made his Mom drive him to the hardware store to get stuff to patch it up because he didn't want his Dad to be mad, but his Dad drove him and they had a good conversation about anger management and punching and then repaired the hole together.
Ryan has half of a watermelon under their bed. - Not that you can prove.
Ryan has an incredible short-term memory but an awful long-term memory. - Ryan has terrible memory whether it be short or long term. Dude has had so many concussions and has spent his life with anxiety, so those memory networks are fried.
Ryan knows fnaf lore. - If you tried to explain FNAF to Ryan, he would be very confused and very concerned.
Ryan is a theatre kid. - Actually, yes, he was recruited to play a tree once in high school. He had a panic attack and threw up in the bathroom and then cried. His Mom took many pictures. It's the only time Colleen has asked him to sign an autograph.

Vanessa stays silent, listening. It's not her place to give an opinion, even though she very much wants to. So instead she just sits and nods, hand reaching out to rest on Ryan's arm. "I can't tell you what to do. And, as much as he would like to think he can, neither can Fabian. He's coming from a place of pain; hockey has hurt him, so in his mind, it should just be an easy decision, giving it up. He doesn't see how much it can mean to someone. He's got blinkers on."
"But -" Vanessa reaches for a pack of tissues, holding them out to him. "Ryan, you can't keep doing something that's going to hurt you. Sometimes there reaches a point where we have to let go of the things in life that aren't serving us anymore, no matter how much we might love them."
"Are you happy right now? Argument with Fabian aside, are you happy with hockey and where your career is going?"
No. The answer is obvious, and it has been for awhile. He's been miserable for months --- maybe years. But that doesn't mean he should give it up. It's not that easy. No matter what anyone else thinks. Ryan feels his throat tighten and burn, eyes shutting to keep the tears at bay and leaving them to sting behind his lids.
"I don't have anything else." His voice is small. The admission is the kind of thing that has haunted him for the past three seasons. Even if he did give up, if he quit --- he'd have nothing else. He's not the type of player who can live on brand deals and endorsements. "I'm not good for anything else." The words come out raw and painful and he finally looks up at Vanessa again. "I'm not...I'm not okay. My back is fucked up. I can't even order at a restaurant. I don't know how to make him happy --- hockey is the only thing I've ever been able to do and now I can't even do that."

If only they knew how closely their thoughts aligned.
Sometimes Shane wishes for exactly that - something smaller. A life that belongs only to him. And while he’s endlessly grateful for what hockey gave him, there are days like today where he finds himself wanting something quieter.
He listens to Ryan speak and catches himself thinking about Ilya in exactly that way again. Music sounds really cool. And Ryan says it looking so utterly smitten with his man that it has something in Shane's chest tighten ever so slightly. "What kind of music?"
It makes him think about Ilya like this. What would he chose if it wasn't hockey? If they could just be whoever they wanted to be. He has to ask him next time they're together.
"A book shop?" Shane repeats, eyebrows lifting slightly. Not in disbelief or mockery, more in genuine, soft surprise. "You know I can see it. I like that for you." he admits and then his expression softens without him noticing. Shane Hollander has been told he has the emotional range of a Roomba. And it didn’t even offend him in the end. It is probably true. Maybe that’s the problem. So he doesn't realize how he smiles into his glass, thumb tracing the condensation before he takes a sip.
"Yeah. I get that. Mine is-" he pauses and sits on that thought for a moment longer than strictly necessary. What is he supposed to say? The Montreal Captain huffs to himself, half self-mockery, half something softer as he can almost hear Ilya in his head calling him 'so boring, Hollander' as a result to that, the first thing that comes to mind is: "He’s so god damn annoying." but it doesn’t land the way it should, because it's said with the utmost love someone could put into these syllables.
He glances up at Ryan again: "You might not think about it like that." he adds more quietly after a moment "-but I think you’re already… pretty brave. And you’re like three steps ahead of me."
If anyone had told him, at any point of the past few years, that he would be sitting beside Shane Hollander, discussing his relationship woes with Fabian Salah --- his boyfriend --- openly in a bar with other hockey players within the same square mile --- he would have thought he'd finally gone insane. "A little of everything, I guess. Classical mixes with some other elements. I don't really...know how to describe it." Music was never really his thing, he just liked what he liked and never knew how to explain it. "He's good, though."
Ryan stares at his beer bottle for another moment or two, lost in thoughts about Fabian. Their fight. The decision that he'll inevitably have to make between one love of his life and the next. Between potential and heartbreak. He exhales, grateful when Hollander speaks again. If he had suspicions before about Hollander's mystery man, they would only grow with that comment. Sure, there are a lot of annoying guys in the league, but only a few who can muster the kind of tone that Shane says those words with.
He doesn't comment on it though. Shane's business is his own, and if he is harboring feelings for another player, especially if that player is Rozanov, then that's an entire shit show that Ryan doesn't envy. Not in the slightest. "You're Shane Hollander." Ryan laughs a little in disbelief as he looks over at the other player. "You were rookie of the year. Second in the draft. You've already won a cup --- as team captain. Nobody is three steps ahead of you."

he didn't realize how it might have made ryan feel.. the way he called for him on the ice -- hearing his words, shane couldn't help but wince. heat creeping up his neck, and taking over his cheeks. he was sure they were at least a light pink. embarrassed, and nervous that someone might hear, that someone might know what he could be talking about. eyes quickly darting around them, making sure no one was listening.. "no.. uh-- no, it's not.." he trailed off for a moment, before shaking his head. trying to get his own anxiety under control. originally hollander came over here confidently, price bulldozed any ounce of confidence shane may have had, with just a few words. swallowing the lump in his throat, as he looked the other hockey player over. everyone feared him, he was used as a pawn on the ice, but no one took the time to get to know him. it was kind of sad really.
"price... we're good-- it's not... it's not about that. take a break, and a walk with me? i'll have hunter fill in, he won't be nearly as good." shane winked, before motioning for him to follow. "i'll wait over here, when you're ready." scott was already on his way onto the ice, shane wasn't really giving him a choice.
he remembers being eleven years old, still getting used to his height, perpetually terrified of being noticed. he remembers how it felt when a teacher would call on him to answer, or pull him out into the hall to talk. and it's a similar feeling now, only he's about three feet taller and two hundred pounds heavier with muscle. still though, hollander is intimidating. he's a machine on the ice, with razor focus and sharp precision. and he wants to talk to ryan. ryan swallows down any lingering anxiety and nods, lifting a hand to wave to hunter to indicate that he was heading off for a break. his former captain nods before taking over the small group of kids that were running drills.
ryan steps off the ice and unlaces his skates, slipping on his shoes before making his way over to shane. "speaking of hunter," ryan starts, figuring that now is a good a time as ever to ask the question everyone has wondered for years. "what was it that made you two fight? neither of you are really the type to drop gloves." or to say the kind of shit that would start a fight in the first place. in fact, thinking back ryan thinks that the year he played for the admirals might be the least amount of fighting he ever did.
ㅤㅤㅤDespite his misery, Wyatt finds himself exhaling a faint laugh at Ryan's teasing, the tight knot in his throat easing just enough for the goalie to draw a full, steadying breath. It helps, a little, but Hayes still feels weighted down (both by exhaustion and with sense of disappointment). He can't help feeling responsible for the loss, even knowing this sport is about more than just one single player on the ice…
ㅤㅤㅤ“.. .yeah. Ok, I know.” Hazy says with a sigh, opening his eyes and peeking at the locker room beyond his cubby. Price is right, Ilya's watching him like a hawk. Rozanov's expression is inscrutable, but Wyatt finds he's not worried that his captain might be angry with him. He knows Ilya doesn't point fingers or place blame, he's too good of a leader for that. If anything, Rozzy is more likely to be doing the same thing as Hayes… blaming himself.
ㅤㅤㅤBlinking quickly against a swell of emotion (because god, he loves this team), Wyatt murmurs down the phone line, sounding helpless, “… I just. I don't want to let them down, Ry. Everyone in this barn is trying so hard.” He sucks in another shuddering breath, ignoring the hitch in his words, “… It's my job to shut the door and keep it shut.”
ㅤㅤㅤHe wishes Price were here, Wyatt wishes it so bad. Dickie and Chouinard are great, they're awesome defensemen and good buddies and Hazy loves playing with them, he does. But he also misses Ryan, his steady support and easy kindness on and off the ice. The goalie finally has a team worth fighting for and all he wants is to share that with his best friend.
ㅤㅤㅤ“The team deserves to win.” Hayes adds, finally, knowing that Pricey will understand the things he doesn't say, about Toronto and their former barn, “…We… deserve it. Don't we?”
He'll never know what it's like to be in Hazy's place. Never know what it's like to be the sole body between that net and the rest of the ice. The mental energy it takes alone must be exhausting, not to mention the physicality of having to know where the puck is coming from at all times. And Hazy does it almost entirely on his own, often isolated from the rest of the team. He's quiet as Wyatt speaks. They both know that there's nothing to say. Games are won and lost because of the team, not any individual player. But it doesn't mean that each person doesn't weight their value at the end of it.
"Yeah," Ryan's voice is soft as he sinks down onto the couch, elbow resting on his knee as he stares down at his hand, flexing and curling his fingers. There are so many scars there from fights. His body bears the brunt of his decade in the league in a way that Hazy's doesn't. But at the end of the day, their job is the same. Their understanding of it is the same. "You deserve the wins. More than any other team." Because they're good. Not just in the way that they play, but in the way that they are. In what they stand for. What Wiebe is building, well, Ryan certainly hasn't ever seen anything like it before. The team deserves this. Wyatt deserves this.

indulge me for a sec, i'm going to headcanon the coaches at the game changers camp / irina foundation while fully acknowledging that you guys know them better, but alas: i feel like every coach has their own niche thing, like ilya is the fun and unserious one; shane is the one that everyone goes to to talk Serious Hockey and learn Next Level Stuff, but it's widely known that he's also just a super softie and so while newer campers are intimidated by him at first, they quickly end up teasing him the same way that ilya does (and then quickly shut up and skate away when they think he might actually be Mad); troy is equal parts fun times and seriousness depending on the group that he gets, but even when its serious hockey stuff then he still manages to make it fun; whenever scott comes, he's literally just All Business and all of the tiny little gremlin campers stand at full attention and it drives ilya crazy.
now, ryan??? obviously he's a giant teddy bear softie anxious bean, but that is so far from what his reputation is and what these kids probably know about him, and also so far from how he first presents (because when he gets anxious he literally just radiates intensity and his intensity often comes off as threatening bc of his size/reputation) so every year, kids spend the first few days just kinda terrified of him until one of them scrapes their knee or misses their parents or has A Big Feeling and then it's ryan there with the character branded bandaids and water and chocolate chip cookie who sits with them to talk through Big Feeling and then everyone realizes that he's just a marshmallow. NOW --- after the first year or so of the camp, this tradition starts to be born of "pricey's random grueling challenge" where he does some kind of warm up or drill or something that is just absolutely obscene (not hard, just...obscene; like "we're picking up the trash in the arena, whoever has the most wins" or "whoever can do the best figure skating routine wins, you have 20 minutes to prepare" or "whoever can get the most stickers on hollander without him noticing, wins") --- this is born because ilya probably notices how anxious and insecure ryan gets about Being There and how sad he gets the first time a kid gets scared of him, and so ilya just starts making up said challenges and using his bisexual menace mind powers to get ryan to initiate the challenge bc the kids will take him seriously. every year, the kids who are In The Know about how much of a marshmallow ryan have a secret code of silence so that others can experience this same phenomenon. anyway, at the end of the two weeks, ryan has at least 3 kids hanging off of him at any given moment, is bodily throwing them across the ice to let them slide like a penguin, and letting them braid his hair.
