sketches i may or may not do something with later idk.... i just wanted to draw something
when i was a kid i had moments of being so fucking diabolical because i realized at some point the best way to leverage power over my family was to do shit that would make everybody late
our house was in the middle of nowhere surrounded by woods so when i decided i didnt want to wear dresses anymore if we were going to some event & my parents insisted i had to wear a dress i would just go hide in the woods. was so committed i almost made us miss a flight once bc my mom packed a dress in my suitcase
i only promised to stop doing this if my parents got me formal boys clothes to wear which eventually they did. i don't feel bad about resorting to violence bc i asked politely and they said no. proud of 10 yr old me for evil annoying lesbian behavior
5th grade was the last time I wore a dress for school pictures. When my parents attempted to force the issue for 6th grade, I climbed onto our roof and pulled the ladder up after me. My dad borrowed the neighbors ladder. As soon as it touched the roof I pulled it up too. By the time I had 3 ladders they were willing to negotiate, and 2 hours late for work.

Me, age 11: Man, I hope I'm gay, because the idea of marrying a man is horrible but the idea of marrying a woman makes me actually want to get married one day. Too bad I'm probably actually just a straight girl who wants attention. 😔
Me, age 15: Man, I wish I was nonbinary. All the nonbinary people I meet are just the coolest people in the world who I want to be just like, and the idea of people not being able to tell if I was a boy or a girl when they look at me delights me so much. Too bad I'm probably actually just a cis girl who wants attention. 😔
Conclusion: I was a stupid teenager
today is international nonbinary people’s day and i have yet to see a single post about it on my dashboard so i have decided to be a bit annoying about it and reblog a bunch of stuff because, frankly, i am so sick of nonbinary people being an afterthought, ignored, and erased in the queer community. i hope that today and during this week (nonbinary awareness week, the 13th-20th) you, the person reading this, will take some time to engage in some meaningful allyship of the nonbinary community beyond phrases like “nonbinary people are valid,” especially if you are not nonbinary yourself. tell your nonbinary friends they matter, support nonbinary creators (especially nonbinary creators of colour!), learn how to use a set of neopronouns, read up on nonbinary-specific issues and exorsexism and how they intersect with intersex issues and oppression, learn about nonbinary gender experiences in cultures other than your own, learn about some lesser known terms and labels used by the community, stop misusing our language (transfem and transmasc) to push bioessentialist discourse within the trans community and push back against binary gender/sex division when you see it — there is so much you can do and all of it makes a difference!
nonbinary people are not only valid, but an important and foundational demographic of the queer and trans community, and we deserve to be treated as such. we deserve to be taken seriously. and to my fellow nonbinary people reading this: your existence makes the world a better place. you deserve to have your identity not just tolerated, but appreciated and respected. i love you. please stay alive
happy international nonbinary people’s day 🖤💜🤍💛

Only part of me was drawing this for a bit but I still spent 7 hours on this
Edit: OH MY GOD ITS BEEN A YEAR SINCE I EVEN DESIGNED MY FURRY BLACK SAPPHIRE COOKIE WOAH
happy decade to the horrible beast i have wrought
u can tell the 4chan migration on here was successful / we lost the culture war bc anytime i even touch a post regarding autism i automatically get recommended more post about it and the post will literally have phrases like “total neurotypical death” with 20k notes and a bunch of high functioning white autistic ppl rbing it happily and giggling and whatever not even caring that “tnd” is a racist dog whistle no not even a dog whistle just straight up a racist chant but if u ask them to stop using it they go “so now we cant even complain about neurotypical?????” as if thats whats being criticized instead of the fact that yall r extremely open to fascism as long as its fun
to clarify any variation of “total ____ death” is just a rebranding of the nazi slogan “total nigger death” like. ur just using a nazi slogan, u cannot swap out black people in that phrase and think its okay to use now, especially if ur still using a word that starts with the letter n like im kinda sick of yall being so okay with hating black people
I need people to learn what death of the author actually is. It isn’t “jkr who? Harry Potter was written by Daniel Radcliffe” or whatever the fuck. It means “I don’t care what jkr says she intended or not, the Harry Potter books are riddled with misogyny and ableism and racism.” It means “I don’t give a fuck that Andy Weir claims to not put politics in his books, Project Hail Mary has a shit ton of political statements in it. Stratt being a woman is a political/social statement. Which countries are involved with the petrova task force is political. The fact they get funding is political.”
Death of the author just means that you’re focusing on the reader’s interpretation of the work, not the author’s intention. It can also ignore the author’s history/beliefs, yes, and you can absolutely critique that, but that is why it is a literary theory and just ONE way to interact with literature, not the end-all-be-all of literary criticism
“Why are you scared of dating” I’m not scared of dating, I just haven’t found anyone’s company to be more enjoyable than my own. And also I don’t care
I just don't want anyone to steal my very cursed amulet
Also the amulet
Is that you talking? Or the amulet? Are you SURE a new hand doesn't want to touch the beacon?
The amulet and I are not currently looking for a third
I saw this perfectly in my head and had to recreate it
Holy Shit

I think more non binary characters should be fat
fat and black and brown 👍🏾
kinda tired of non binary being tied to skinny androgyny that's mostly white. I say that's as a non binary transmasc/boy thing who's fat and black.
being non binary can look like anything and anyone but especially individuals who have different body types outside of thin. they can have body/facial hair too. show up for all enbies.

a pattern ive noticed
actually this is really interesting me bc of the etymology of yaoi and yuri as terms. yuri literally means lily, and comes from a widely influential gay magazine, barazoku (rose tribe) referring to its female fans as yurizoku (lily tribe) leading to lilies being associated with sapphic women. on that note, bara in japanese is an pejorative towards gay men, similar to “pansy” in English, and one that was being used in a reclamatory way by the magazine- if you see controversy over the word bara being used to describe things in English, that’s why, it’s still used as a homophobic insult. yaoi is an acronym of “yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi” which in English would be “no climax no point no meaning”, or basically porn without plot. and, funnily enough, while yuri and yaoi are popular terms in English speaking communities, Japan in fact uses “girls love” and “boys love” (as in, the English terms) more commonly iirc. so nonbinary yaoi/yuri would presumably either be a description of the stereotypical plot (or lack thereof) or a flower associated with nonbinary people in Japan. or “x love” I guess, since “x-gender” (also in English) is a common way to refer to nonbinary people in Japan.
